Honestly, I don't think the commercial sellers of macerated NETs make anything substantially better than the juices I've tried from both you and Johni. If I vaped nothing but NETs, I'd be quite satisfied with the stuff you guys make all the time.

Now if I could persuade you guys to start working on some blueberry vanilla cake and caramel pear black tea!

There are a few natural tobacco vendors that make a 100% VG (including the extracts) if you have a lookabout. Heathers Heavenly Vapes is one of them and I know there are others too, though I don't have names.

So. I haven't found any reference, at all. In my google fu. To using freezing of the mash as the actual maceration method during an herbal tincture diy. Further , the tobacco was dry before I got it and the vegetable glycerin kept it from actually freezing. I think this line of experimentation can come to an end. Id rather find out things like wether or not heating and then allowing it to cool and reheating it is doing anything more than wasting electricity.

I just filtered my Black Crown Sons of Anarchy cigar. I used the hybrid method. I started with one hour of heat. Then I let it sit for a few days and gave it three hours. Then I let it sit about a week and gave it 4.5 more hours. The total maceration time was 23 days. It came out darker than the majority of cigars extracts I've seen. In finished juice form it looks like a dark pipe tobacco. I'm not sure if it pulled all of the possible flavors out. The finished juice is less than two hours old. Right now it seems like it has plenty of potential. There is already a strong spice component, some sweetness, dark earth, and there is definitely smooth Dominican tobacco.

If it works out as well or better than other methods will be determined after some steeping.

I have already added to my cart the hearth and home Louisiana red and stogie pipe, the sutliff Charlemagne and captain black dark.

Any quick suggestions? I think I've got the cigars covered having concentrated only on those Diane had used her new extraction technique to give more flavour but I am not entirely sure about the pipes.

The new 5 Vegas triple A and series A look good on paper, as do the two Bahia offerings (all made with the new extraction process). Has anyone tried those yet?

I ordered exactly the same but, add the 5 Vegas, RamonBueso and Dunhill Early Morning (Told you I dented the piggy bank.) After placing the order I found the bottle of Centurion they'd sent with my last order. It is very good! As described in their reviews with an earthy and grassy taste. Will be getting a bigger bottle again.

I ordered the Ramon Bueso, 5 Vegas and Centurion on my last order about 2-3 months ago. But thanks for telling me because I imagine my Centurion is now ripe and ready and I will use it tomorrow.

I put in my order and focused on pipes this time. I am really looking forward to the Hearth and Home Stogie Pipe and Louisiana Red. I know some of the home extracters have extracted that pipe with great success. I am also looking forward to the Captain Black Dark which I've heard great things about.

Diane is really doing some amazing things now. She is a tour de force in the NET.com world now.

Now that Ahlusion no longer sells their Vurley, one of my old favorites, I used this thread to assist in finding N-E-T.com's Coventry and ordered 30mL. I hope its BETTER than Vurley. All their pipe blends looked so good!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your swap package of homemade NETs.

I feel camaraderie rather than competition with my compatriot home extractors. I do seem to have a certain "feel" for macerated extractions, but good luck (especially in choosing tobacco blends to extract) plays a major role. And making extracts is sooooo easy!

The HoL Puros Naturales you sent me was interesting. I'm vaping 12mg nic now, so I plan to Frankenjuice that bottle in with a 1:1 mix with one of my own cigar extracts to cut the nic in half. I've done that with a number of my old 24mg retail NETs, and the results are often surprisingly good, giving new life to old doggies. Even when the mix is a bust and I end up pitching the failed blend, it's no great loss, since I wouldn't vape the 24mg originals anyway. Between 4 liters of my own homemade extracts and 400ml of swapped extracts from my friends, I have enough to keep me in NETs for a long, long time.

I'm so spoiled now by high-quality homemade tobacco extracts that buying retail NETs has become a thing of the past for me. Needless to say, the savings are very substantial. The same applies for me with non-tobacco juices. I'm completely committed to DIY at this point, and happy as a clam about it.

LOL...that's the story of vaping..Iknow what you mean..i was one of the bunch who went along with Scubatdan in experimenting and developing using ceramic wicks in gennys....it took us months and months....but it was worth it....

I don't know that there is an advantage. Based on a fresh vs fresh comparison I would give the nod to straight cold maceration. It seems that the flavors come out more defined, separated, and clear. Now, that might be something that could be fixed with longer maceration time. So, I left my Paul Stulac Lord of Albany soaking. To me the heat did change the taste a little bit. The cold maceration is bright and clear with the flavors being more of the focus. The heated method seems to make things darker and more opaque with a taste that leans more towards the way flavors present when smoking. (At least to me it does.) I think the cold method will be my preferred method from now on.
