Words can't even begin to describe how epic these ceramic wicks are for NETs! I'm in vaping heaven. I got the 1/8" wick and I drilled out my 2.5mm hole to 1/8" and pre wrapped a coil on a 7/64" drill bit then gently screwed the coil onto my wick, installed it in my aga-t+ and I'm amazed. I guess the next step will be to try one in a dripping rba. I'm so pumped right now.

Tell me more! I was under the impression the ceramic wicks wouldn't work for a dripper. Can they be shaped or manipulated in any way, so a U wick would work, or are you just going to do a vertical or straight horizontal in the dripper? Are they as fragile as I am expecting them to be? Do they impart any taste to the vape? Where did you get them?

Ok so back to NETs, just received my QuicNic juices today, lids are off and steeping. Four of the five bottles smell nearly identical (Fired in Georgia, Grandpa's Nightcap, Habanna Daydream, and KubaKuba), with the fifth, whereas the MyRYQuattro has a very different aroma, and actually smells quite good.

The hand written note with the order said steep ten days. For those that have had any or all of these, what are your recommendations? How long, lids on or off?

Thanks,
Going to drip some Quattro now!

Per the instructions CT. GNP changed quite a bit from week 1 to week 2. Enjoy CT. QnJ makes quality smoke juice. Also one of the most overlooked juicemakers.

I was gonna try to just run it like a short silica sits in a dripping RBA, but keep it from scraping the sides. Yes they are very delicate. That's why I went with 1/8". I haven't broken any but I've been ultra careful. They do taste slightly muted, but not imparting any off flavors. But I've been told they need at least 5-6mls before they come alive flavor-wise. I got mine from discount vapers but they sold out in like 1hr. But people have been shaping their own with certain brands of aquarium air stones. I think scubadan (I'm sure I probably spelled his name wrong) made one like a block sort of then drilled a hole through the Center and stuffed a coil inside instead of wrapping it around outside... It looked like a great idea for dripping but I never followed up on the post to see if it performed well.

Thanks Bronze, you would know! And yes, impressed with QnJ already, and that's pre-steeping!

Interesting. Gonna watch the developement of these as I'm still not too keen on dealing with SS yet, though I'm seeing people are moving toward unoxidized wick methods.

I wonder if someone will figure out a way to break the ceramic in quicker. It will also be nice if they start being sold pre-shaped for specific drippers.

Right on E!!! Glad to hear they are working! I have 20 of them on the way in two different sizes! I'm definitely gonna snap one of them into smaller pieces for my dripping RBA's!! Can't wait man. Are they easy to break them accurately in to smaller pieces?

And Jerms get that SS mesh running in your Phoenix man, it's the cats pajamas!

I have a Fatty clone instead of a Phoenix, which has been hit and miss for me. Still timid about SS; oxidizing, hot spots, rolling the mesh, etc. I'll soon be getting an IGO dripper from steammonkey, and they include a bit of mesh, so I'll give it a try then. Not sure if I want to invest in a torch or butane ligher for the SS if the ceramic turns out to work as well.

I haven't tried snapping them yet but I imagine that they will break in the right spot. I have 2 drippers so ill probably tinker with one tonight. My problem is that my dripper is a small ego diameter so the ceramic wick is gonna have to be short. Damn TCP you have 20 on the way? I only have 3, Where did you order from?

This may have been answered already, but why not order whole-leaf cured tobacco? (like here: Whole Tobacco Leaves by the Pound, Buy Tobacco Leaf, Bulk Tobacco, Fronto Leaf, Cigar Wrappers, Binders, and Fillers)

Don't know about anyone else's answer, but I don't (yet) know how to blend my own tobaccos. At Leaf Only you buy a pound of Burley or a pound of Oriental or whatever. When I buy a premade blend at least I am sure that a trained tobacconist has had a hand in crafting it. I'd hate to go through all the steps only to discover that it tastes bad.

Mostly because I already have dozens of cigars and a few pounds of various pipe tobaccos.

But I would still rather buy blends...just non-aromatics. D&R had super high quality cured dry blends for very reasonable prices. It's an art in itself to get a blend right and then that needs to age...

Also, there are dozens of ways to cure each variety and that effects flavor at least as much as variety. Maybe that whole leaf place does all that, but there are products by well known veteran tobacconist out there for cheap.

It's a valid point indeed. This is why I'm in the experimental stage and plan to be for a LONG time! ;) Different ratios of different leaf varietals, with hopefully by then, worked out steeping methods and reagents! The quest continues...

If you look under the tobacco leaf combos, they have both cigarette and cigar whole leaf blends with lots of options and they tell you what % of each tobacco is used. In the cigar part they provide the filler, binder, and wrapper grade leaves. Would be a good place to start if someone was interested in going that route.
