I will toss thoughts over there along with all the cross links and such.

That one looked really good actually. I drink a lot of black, green and chai based teas now so, I am hoping these flavors get close. From what I've read, some of these take a while to open up completely... I am definitely ok being patient :)

I've had 2 Ahl teas. Chai Latte was great right away and stayed that way. Caramel Pear Black Tea changes a lot as it ages. And I do mean a LOT. I expect that to be the case with several of them.

When people discuss the Ahlusion NETeas, nobody ever mentions MI Cherry Tea. It is my favorite. :)

CW, do advise us how you like the VV tobaccos. Those of us who got the first batch of those were *cough* disappointed. I wonder if they have evolved at all.

Are you like the rarest kind of new member or what? LOL

LOL

Good things always take time - I fully expect some of these to be complete garbage tonight and tomorrow but, turn into a thing of beauty in a few weeks.

Now, if I had just been accepted on one of the lists for some high end exclusive mod and you told me to be patient then, I may not be so accommodating :)

I'll add that one to the list... when I got to 14 sampler bottles, I had to stop lol

Will definitely share initial impressions as well as those after a steep.

Not sure how long this UK vendor has been around. They have 3 NETs; a regular tobacco, a peach tobacco, and an RY4 varient. They say they steep tobacco leaves, so a typical maceration, but don't mention what type of tobacco leaves are used. They are a bit spendy, $7.39 for 10ml, and $21.43 for 30ml (shipped as 3 10ml bottles) and I have no idea what they charge to ship to the US. I won't be buying juice for a couple months, but if nobody has tried these yet when I do I'll jump on it. Would be good for a 3 person buy because of the way they sell the 30ml.

Interesting... They advertise all their juices as being made with "organic ingredients imported from the USA". I wonder if perhaps they are a vendor we know, just re-labeled?

I am waiting on my Vapists NET juices from the UK. Order shipped Tuesday so ought to be here sometime next week.

Here we go...

Initial Impressions for Ahlusion and Virgin Vapors

Let me start by saying that it is very unfair to compare anything to the Ahlusion flavors I had tonight. That said, nothing I had tonight was terrible. I didn't want to throw away sample bottles and wash my mouth out. Some are absolutely better than others, however. I did taste a lot tonight (I went ahead and tasted the teas I had as well as the other fruit/nut/etc) so, the list is relatively long.

To try to keep this relatively short, I am going to post only the tobacco flavors here. Others will be linked to my blog where I will add posts there to cover the other flavors.

Tobacco Flavors:

Ahlusion
Overall - all the flavors balanced well with each other - I didn't get the impression the flavors were fighting with each other or anything like that. I am very much looking forward to what a week will do to these.

House Blend - Little sweeter than I would normally like but, not as sweet as a typical RY4 or even a 555. The tobacco is definitely muted - it tastes a bit like an American Spirit; the flavor is there, it just isn't strong - very much a background flavor. The vanilla was more of a french vanilla as opposed to the vanilla extract-ish taste that so many juices have. I also caught a bit of what I think is hazelnut in there as well.

Apple House Blend - House blend notes plus Red Delicious apple. The apple flavor was spot on - I could taste the different flavors of the skin (the slight tang/tart that you get with a ripe apple) combined with the full forward fruit. Either the amount of vanilla was reduced or the apple overpowered it but, there was far less vanilla. It honestly tasted like what I would imagine an apple milkshake to taste like if it were made with whipping cream and french vanilla

Cherry House Blend - House blend notes plus maraschino cherries. Not sure exactly why but, I expected bing cherries not maraschino so, it was a bit of a HHMM going on. The cherry was very real tasting and had a very similar profile and flavor to apple house blend (not surprisingly)

Deal Maker - I got an undertone of cocoa or maybe dark chocolate however, it wasn't too strong and was definitely not regular semisweet or milk chocolate. Definite banana-ish flavor in there too. Not the fake candy banana but, real banana. The tobacco was again muted but, from what I could taste, was very similar to the house blend flavors I did get only a bit more depth.

Desperado - very very light hints of other flavors. A lot that i sort of recognized but, couldn't place. the tobacco was muted but, i did get bits and pieces of it. was very clear this needed more steeping.

Virgin Vapors
All of these flavors needed steeping. In some cases, the notes were a bit jumbled and in others, it seemed like the flavors were battling each other. That said, it was never so much that it made the juice bad... just not quite right. It seems that these tobacco flavors are for those that want to use tobacco flavors as a 'gateway' to get to other flavors (which is absolutely ok, just not my preference)

Dark Side of the Moon - I definitely got the dark chocolate. I also picked up a hint of black liquorice but, not a ton. The tobacco was there but, soft. Will be interesting to see what its like after it breathes.

Georgia Gold - this was a bit perfumy from the inhale. I definitely got some floral notes in there. The peach had a bit of a candy aftertaste to it - it was similar to the haribo gummy peaches but, not as sweet and only in the aftertaste. The tobacco was muted here as well.

Thrilla in Vanilla - This tasted like "Olde Tyme Vanilla" icecream flavoring with a tobacco back. The tobacco was there but, almost non-descript. This is the one where it seemed like the flavors were a bit jumbled - i would get inhales that were very vanilla followed by inhales that were more tobacco. I think this will balance after steeping but, I'm still not sure how it will be.

That's a good question. Could mean they buy the tobacco extract to make juice, re-label a made juice, or the tobacco leaves are bought from the US and they make the extract. They say the tobacco used is "organically certified and additive free".

Uh oh, there is that relabeling thing again! I think it is slimy to put your name on someone else's work. I said that earlier tonight, but I had to repeat it! I do not know if that is what acevapers is doing, so that is not pertaining to them...I hope.

The things Ahlusion does with fruit, either by themselved or mixed with tea or tobacco, is pure magic. If you like peach, you need to try the aromatic peach tobacco Sweet Georgia Peach. Possibly the best ejuice of any category I've had, and easily my favorite fruit tobacco.

Thanks for sharing your impressions. Hope they get even better with time for ya.

What I think is awesome is that, maybe not by design, CW is experiencing the non-aros first! I think that will prove to be very important in the understanding of their approach.

Not going with the aromatics was intentional at least in part.

One of the first juices I tried at the beginning of this journey had an alcohol base. I didn't know about steeping and it left a bad taste in my mouth (quite literally). Enough that I knew I had something wrong and decided I would stick to my cig-alikes for a bit longer. The good news is it was enough to get me reading and learning rather than blindly doing.

It was about the time I finally decided to ditch the cig-alike for good that I started pouring through juice reviews and was pointed at Ahlusion so, I pulled together a list of things I wanted to try. When I pulled together my list of the ones I wanted to go for first, I didn't want to interfere with the tobacco flavors so I went for those without alcohol. I didn't know what an aromatic was or what I should do with it or anything.

When it came time to place my order, I was too late on their site for a few days and missed my chance to order. Once I got in and was able to fill my cart, i just stuck to my initial list in case it wouldnt let me check out (picture hitting refresh and booking concert tickets within the first 30 seconds of them going online and that was about how I did it :) ).

All of that said, now I do know a bit more and am very much looking forward to trying them solo and pairing :D I have been sampling a ton of juice recently (thank you tax return) I'll get back to the aromatics and some of the others shortly :)

I may just sign over my paycheck to them... so many good flavors >.<

Yep. They sure do. I haven't bought an untried flavor for them in awhile, so I need to hurry up and try some new stuff.

Could you explain what you mean by this? I am trying to figure out this line.

It was based on the fact that the juice contained alcohol plus my poor experience with the first juice I had that containing alcohol. That first juice was horrible - all I tasted was the alcohol. At the time, my uneducated self thought that a juice having alcohol in it at all would cause the flavor to be bad - I thought it was my preference/reaction as opposed to an indicator that the juice needed to steep.

Bottom line - it was an idea based on invented information rather than anything real. but, it did influence the selections I had on my original list.

I knew when I placed the order that my previous idea was complete crap :) I just didnt know it when I made my original list...

Ohhh...I get it. Yeah, that being on the site as an "ingredient" could lead one to think that. Heck, I did, though I never tasted it. I wrote a post about it recently. It's minuscule, if it even presents itself, but because at one point or another it was in an ingredient (not actually an ingredient on its own), it must be included on the ingredient list. I too have had those alcoholish liquids and they were very off-putting. Not all are bad though, but some are just insane with it.

That first one was brutal - like inhaling rubbing alcohol. To top it off, I am certain I had done other things wrong too (carto not being full enough, not enough waiting to make sure everything soaked into the filler correctly, using less than ideal hardware, etc.). I wouldnt be surprised if that first inhale was heavy alcohol plus a dry burn of filler and that is why it was so horrific. *shudder*

Regardless, I'm better now :)

I think after this batch, you may want to try Patriot, Fire Cured, Vita Bella and maybe Organic Tobacco #1 from GeJ. QuickNic should also be on your list.

Now, I will see if this baby will finally got to sleep.

Hi RPad - Eleanor and I love Smooooooth Criminal - In fact that conjures up a line from something for me too as I do believe we sigh, gasp and blush, and blush and sigh and gasp even more frequently than those silly 50 shades bodice ripper penny novels.

My friend Glenda came over and dripped some Ahlusion NETs. She loved Honey Cured and Peachy Criminal. She had a moment that reminded me of a line from Bottleshock. She got quiet and said, "These Ahlusion juices...are all...SO good!"
