Now that I've produced my own home-brewed NET, I guess I expect (require?) that retail NETs be clearly superior to my amateur efforts. Ahlusion, MOV, and GeJ all succeed in this. Not that I like every NET by those vendors, but the overall quality of their tobaccos shines through quite obviously, and in a way that impresses me, like them or not. MVJ and QnJ, however, both fail my new litmus test: They are no better than my own home-brewed NET, and some of theirs aren't even as good as mine.

To be fair, your "amateur efforts" are extremely impressive. You make some fantastic NET RY4s, good sir!

Get yourself "verified" by submitting the verification form (takes a week or so) and there is a restricted want ads forum. hardware, juices, and consumables are sold and traded as well as co-ops are then available if you wanted to join (though, most of those are US only).

Here is the link to the verification process: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/announcements-news/283955-how-become-verified-member.html

The Classifieds can be glorious...and dangerous. This year I've picked up two quality mechanical mods and luce's I-quit-vaping stash of e-liquids. There are some fantastic deals to be had.

Ahlusion's Devil Dog! is now my favorite NET. I thought it was a little harsh at first... maybe it's mellowed a bit, but not much if it has. I find myself craving it.

It does mellow slightly, as Wlad mentioned it would. When I first vaped DD!, it nearly knocked me to the ground. It's a flavorful juice and one of the boldest NETs I've ever tried. Months later, it was still strong and bold (and honestly, too manly for me) but more manageable. Deliciously jarring?

The only problem that I can see from being one of the few into DD is that there really ain't much to suggest after DD. Of course there's BGB (Ahl), Paris, Lousiville and London (w2v), Apache (MOV) and if QnJ releases their Fire-Cured, but for boldness and complexity, DD remains top dog. I once asked DD to tell me a little bit about himself and he replied, "Ruff!" LOL

W2V order will be placed after next payday!

Luckily DD hasn't ruined all other types of flavors for me... yet.

Bill, you didn't really pour MVJ juices down the drain did you? I've been wanting to try some of the others. The only ones I have in my arsenal is County Squire, Touch of Spice and Blueberry. I really like the County Squire and would have been keen to try some of the My Hero or Wicked Wench.

Please, for the sake of humanity never pour juice down the drain :)

As for Bobba's and my take on it's flavour profile, I think it has a mere whiff of banana. It's subtle, subtle enough that it doesn't stand out on it's own but in convergence with the other ingredients gives the juice it's unique flavour. I don't think it's the individual ingredients that make BB so unique, I think it's the blend ratios that harmonises them into one indistinct whole.

I don't know what a 'Graham Cracker' is. That must be an American thing.

If it was a naturally extracted tobacco, which tobacco would be the closest? My strange personal imagery see's a white tobacco but there is no such thing. Maybe bobba's is a naturally extracted vanilla bean :D

MrM,

I don't dispute anything you wrote in your post about Boba's. My personal experience vaping BB sporadically at every stage from fresh to 18 months old is that I've never been able to taste any tobacco in it. To my palate, BB is a TINO.

I too regard BB as very simple, probably just a couple of ingredients---two, maybe three tops. I just don't know what they are.

AnthonyB,

Same disclaimer---I don't dispute what you wrote about Boba's, and offer reaction only as anecdotal reporting rather than challenge. I've never picked up any banana flavor from BB. Might be there---Lord knows Boba's is famous for being a mystery flavor---but my brain balks at identifying any flavor in BB as banana. Raisin? Yes. Graham cracker? Yeah. Cola? Perhaps. Banana? Uh, no. Doesn't mean that you're wrong, just that my mileage varies.

-----

In other reporting, after months of vaping (sporadically) many of the MyVapeJuice natural tobacco extracts in DIY, something snapped in me last night. I experienced a welling-up of disappointment and even aggravation with the murkiness, lack of crispness, one-dimensionality, and general sameness of MVJ NETs. Now, I like Diane a lot, especially since she's the only vendor I know selling NETs in extract form, but I fear that the crystal-clarity and wonderful complexity of Ahlusion tobaccos (to use the most obvious comparison) have ruined me.

In a classic purge, I retired most of my tanks/clearos that were loaded with MVJ NET DIY juices. Savage Cocoa and Country Squire survived my wrath, but My Hero and Wicked Wench in various hybrids went right down the drain. I still have more of each extract, though, so my hissy fit wasn't terminal, merely radical.

In the early days of this thread, any NET got a pass from me simply because it was an NET. Not any more.

That's subjective, of course, and not meant to imply that others don't or shouldn't love MVJ and QnJ NETs, but---having publicly praised both vendors' natural tobaccos initially, and even more recently having continued to give them the benefit of the doubt---I'm afraid that many of their NET juices must be removed from my stable of daily vapes, at least for awhile. I'm sure I'll revisit them later, so perhaps I'll recant. Maybe my palate just went wacky (it does that...). For now, however, I'm simply too spoiled by superb retail NETs to vape anything that strikes me as less.

Welcome to the club dgm! Like MM said, there isn't a lot left after Devil Dog. To his list I would add Southern Gentleman, MOV, Patriot, Fire Cured and Acadian Gold, GeJ. If I remember right you have already tried some of these. I look for anything that has Latakia, Perique, and/or a strong Burley.

I could practically open up a shop with the gear I have here on those classifieds but I bet being in Australia will leave me at a great disadvantage. I recently experienced that when I put up a mammoth swap ad and had it removed it in 30 minutes because 'it's US only' as I was succinctly told.

I don't get why they have that restriction. It should be left to the users to decide if they want to pay extra postage and deal with any potential customs issues.

I've seen posts from SG, UK, CA, US, and I think I saw an AUS there as well. just be sure to specify USD and that shipping is to be paid by the buyer for worldwide shipping and you should be OK.

I only mentioned getting verified because that tag doesn't exist on your avatar... you can't open the ECF classifieds without being verified first...

DD is a lovely fellow. he likes to get into barfights and drink too much but, we like him anyway.

I tend to spend time with him after dinner... his antics can be mellowed slightly with a good port. :)

I love DD - it just isn't an all day vape for me. it is one of those that I will have every couple of days and drip for a couple of hours. There are plenty of others that I love and can vape all day :)

I do echo Mr. Mann's comments though - there aren't many others out there that are similar... but, for me anyway, they have all been worth trying.

This.

Also - i have flavor reviews/first impressions on my blog here - have a look and see if anything jumps out at you. It isn't perfect and will be updated now that most of these have stepped a bit but, it may be a good start if you are looking for something more specific.

.

LOL!!

Does anyone else worry that if you vape a flavor you like too much you will start to dislike it? I find myself not vaping DD too frequently out of that fear.

I don't know what a 'Graham Cracker' is. That must be an American thing.

it is similar to a digestive biscuit in texture and, for some anyway, in flavor as well - think dark pie crust that has been sweetened with a bit of honey... kind of a sweet meal with a pinch of malt... and, in some cases, a bit of shortbread taste.

In the 4 years I lived overseas when my GF at the time wanted smores, the closest we could find was digestives.

Hope that helps...

My only sort of related concern is that the flavor will mute on me (not a concern with DD honestly)... its like eating peanut butter every day... then not eating it for a week... then eating it again, you notice all the flavors that you didnt taste the last time you had it.

The larger concern (which fades with time and habit adjustment, is vapor's mouth. if you allow yourself to get dehydrated (and vaping can dehydrate you), some have reported losing most of their sense of taste for a few days to a week.

I am one of those weirdos that carries a water bottle with me everywhere so, it hasnt happened to me but, I did notice when I started that I could tell the difference in my water consumption.
