Just received my first package from Ahlusion. Immediately impressed right out of the box. Extremely careful packing, right down to packing the dripper separate so that the bottle could be individually wrapped. Excellent high quality glass bottles. Personal note. Before even vaping the stuff the quality and attention to detail of this vendor is high evident. Ordered the standards, BGB and DD...plus some Maple Burley and some Cha-Yen. Can't wait!!!

Nice choices! The juice tastes better than the packaging looks too.

I actually enjoyed Cravin' Vapes Maple Spirit Tobacco...for about five minutes. Then the maple just got lost.

Exactly. Second time I tried it after I vaped it for a day for a review was after I vaped one of the contest vapes for a day. Bad idea, going from a complex tobacco to a barely there tobacco didn't work. Surprisingly, the maple was almost non-existant too.

CravinVapes works ok when in the mood for something really light. They would be a contender if they bumped up the flavors and used more complex tobacco, because there's no off notes and it's pleasant enough to vape. As they stand, why would I want HHV lite when I can have the full flavored, real thing?

Natural Perique isn't, Vita Bella and GJ4 are (IMO).

I disagree with this. The Perique by nature of the tobacco and to my taste in this juice is in fact slightly sweeter than the Patriot. While Perique is often explained as having an almost mushroom-like taste...and this juice does have a hint of that...it also sometimes has a bit of a raisin like quality, and by that i mean the sweetness full-bodied profile of raisin minus the fruit notes. That is actually one of the reasons why despite its quality, I respect but have never been a big Perique analog guy personally. I found the Perique to be slightly sweet in that regard with an almost yeasty quality that was pleasant. Add those two qualities and minus the smoky flavor of the Patriot and you are getting close to a rudimentary description of the Natural Perique IMHO.

I am resisting temptation and letting the Ahlusions steep for a few days at least. I vaped the thai tea right away as it is an elusive flavor I am seeking where others have fallen short. I must say out of the box I am...disenchanted. It is enjoyable and closer to the mark than other vendors I have tried, and it performs like a mamma jamma with above average throat hit and HUGE clouds of vapeage...but the flavor it a bit weak, muddled, and while tasty in no way mimicks a thai tea. Of course, this is right out of the mail. SInce they naturally extract their teas I am guessing I should give this a couple weeks and reboot.

The teas change quite a bit with age.

That is good to know. I will lay off this cha yen for a month and come back to it then.

Can somebody please explain to me why I have a love/hate with Patriot? Is is the way the perique can dominate the blend? Is it the ashiness? is is the killer performance? Does anyone else have this back and forth on it and does anyone have any insight on way I keep saying I won't reorder but keep reaching for what I have on hand?

I am vaping on GEJ Patriot right now, and though it has a really good tobacco flavor, its not quite as sweet as I would like...

Is Natural Perique, Vita Bella, or GJ4 any sweeter than Patriot?

Vita Bella gets sweeter, or more vanilla-like with age. It was decent when I first got it, but after 2 months it is very tasty indeed.

Also, FWIW, Organic #1 is refreshingly sweet, a milder tobacco than Patriot. It has a nice tobacco leaf flavor on the inhale, and then the sweetness is on the exhale and linger over the tongue. Still trying to pinpoint the flavor. As it ages, Organic #1's color darkens and the aroma out of the bottle entices you like a liqueur. It doesn't get much press, but I find Organic #1 to be a wonderful, sweet (but not candied) mild tobacco.

Eager to try the fire cured apple.

I would say Vita Bella does become vanilla-like as it gets several months old. It certainly is the closest descriptor I can come up with. But it is something better. I'm not big on vanilla but VB is very good. I think it is vanilla without the richness normally associated with vanilla.

The tobaccos you listed don't need ANY steeping. Try 'em now. Try Devil Dog first! The teas DO need steeping.

Switching up to Ahlusion Cocoa Blend this afternoon. I would have picked up Smokin' Cherries instead of this, but Tez let me try both and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Cocoa Blend. It's delicious! Like many others have said, cocoa is not chocolate. The tobacco in Cocoa Blend is, of course, excellent and is accompanied by a cocoa taste that shouts sophisticated naughtiness (which I've never actually heard anyone shout, btw).

I can't explain it but, I have the same thing. There are times that it is all i want and there are times that i loathe it. no clue why :)
