KC Masterpiece is like candy.
Exactly right. It's disgusting unless you're 5. I like Arthur Bryant's original and Jack Stack's spicy sauce. Oklahoma Joe's has the best barbecue (ribs in particular) in KC, but their sauce is terrible, not as sweet as KC Masterpiece, but still too sweet.

To keep things on topic, I'm enjoying some HHV Shadow right now. It's the only HHV liquid I have had. I need to change that soon. Really like how smooth Shadow is.

Then you need to give Heavenly ARMY a try -- it's sibling. Creamy tobacco base, but with graham notes instead of vanilla. Yummy!

Heh, KC "Masterpiece." Not. :p

My two decades in KCMO have left me a lifelong Gates and Arthur Bryant's fan -- I even just paid an armload to have 12 bottles of Gates Barbeque sauce shipped to me down here in Jurassic Park (I figure a few will become presents for others who've never tasted REAL barbeque! :D)

Mmmmmm, barbeque . . . that reminds me, I still have a few mls of Proudest Monkey (fire cured!) to vape; I ordered a 30ml of it a couple days ago, and that should be here by le weekend.:banana::banana:

vaping Proudest Money as I type El. Mmmmmm!! :)

The Asian grocery at out fresh food markets has an unexpectedly excellent section of imported American barbeque sauces and condiments. At $10 a bottle they are kind of luxurious. We've tried Sweet Baby Ray's, Rufus Teague, and Stubbs. I think the next one will be the Jack Daniel's brand.

When I get nostalgic for some of my native foods I shop here: Usafoods.com.au Every once in a while I order a big parcel of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Frank's Red Hot Sauce, and cinnamon Jolly Ranchers:)

Die Hard Sweet Baby Ray's fan here. :)

I was using SBR's before anyone heard of it. It was made and sold in Chicago initially. That's where I lived. Even there it was on the bottom shelf covered in dust. I fell in love with it immediately and it appears many across the nation have too. It's awesome!

jef is exactly right. If you like Shadow, you will like Heavenly Army. Also you must add Dragon's Fire to your wish list. Legend too. I'll put my money down that Dragon's Fire will be your fave. It is among many.

Just curious I Like heavenly army but It is very light on the tobacco part and would probably like it more with even a little more tobacco taste

How would it compare to oompa would there be a stronger tobacco component with oompa

(I actually just wrote this in another thread)

In a similar vein, my grandfather raised me to eat barbecue without sauce. He always said, "boy, if it's good, flavorful, juicy barbecue, you don't need no sauce!" Ironically, my grandfather also taught me how to make some GREAT barbecue sauce. I guess he was a complicated man.

Miss you, papa.

Anywho, Black Cav from NET.com is VERY good. It only has subtle hints of "otherness," which is weird because Black Cav is HEAVILY processed, double fermented--which is why it's so dark (if I am not mistaken), and heavily flavored.

Actually, I am happy this is not reading as a ton of other flavors on top. Good vape here. Though, I think this would be a fantastic concentrate to DIY other flavors with.

vjc, HHV is a unique NET vendor. Their juices tend to be sweeter with less emphasis on tobacco. Huntsman and Dark Horse are exceptions. But the rest have a sweet component and you could say tobacco is a supporting flavor, not a primary flavor. Oompa too. Oompa is a dark chocolate flavor (not milk chocolate).

He was right. Sometimes bbq is better without the sauce. :)

Also agree with Black Cav from NETCOM. I just mentioned on Clay's thread that it is an excellent stand alone juice but also a great flavor bender in other juices. It has a strong smoky presence that can enhance many juices. I feel that way about QnJ's fire-cured as well.

How old is your HA? After a month's steep, HA is richer in tobacco than the graham flavor.

Oompa is all tobacco up front and takes a good month or 2 steep before the chocolate notes really shine. Many of HHV's tobaccos have a light flavor, while others do not, and steep time also plays an important part.

HA right out of the mail is a wonderful dessert vape, but after a month's steep, the tobacco pulls ahead of the dessert qualities.

Shadow is that way too. But the tobacco is never front and center in the way other NET juices are.

Makes sense It is almost 3 weeks I tried after 1 week as per reviews but def better this week then when I first tried

I know that HHV is a sweeter tobacco I like sweeter tobacco's but at the same time I'm looking for is not a tremendous amount more tobacco just for it to be notably present maybe equal with the sweeter notes

Well, I will say Shadow and Heavenly Army are among the sweetest (least tobacco) juices that HHV offers. I think you will find a larger tobacco presence in Dragon's Fire, Legend, Serendipity, and Pirate's Booty while maintaining a prominent sweetness. I would classify all these as pipe tobacco. Perhaps these flavors are what you are after. jef referred to the creamy base in Shadow. Heavenly Army has that exact same creamy base and truthfully, it makes both of these flavors very rich. Those are the only two flavors that share that creamy base. None of the others have it and could be what you'r looking for. Huntsman and Dark Horse are the two HHV's that I would classify as "raw" or "gritty". Another you might want to explore is Caramel Apple Tobacco (a non-NET). It is an apple sweet (not sugary). But it has a very deep smoky flavor (once it is six weeks old) tht has an apple tartness to it. Very durable.

Give Huntsman and Legend a try.

There's a nice section of the Tobacco reviews here as well, might help you out.

The HHV Army

Yes I like legend,
Also Huntsman will be on my next HHV order

Also have Serendipity and dragons fire that I will try once aged 1 month in about a week

Barbecue sauce should compliment the smoked meat, not dominate it.

I'm extremely picky when it comes to sweet tobaccos. I like Shadow because the sweetness is not candy-like. That being said it does sound like I would enjoy several of the HHV flavors. Thanks for all the info, Bronze and Jef.

vjc...if you've had your DF and Dipity for three weeks...give it a go now. One more week isn't gonna make much of a difference. Trust me. I've vaped a tankers-worth of the stuff in my vape career. The first week is most critical. You need to take the cap and dripper off upon receipt for a day or so to allow the extracting alcohol to evaporate. An additional 1 - 2 weeks of steeping is plenty for 95% of the flavor to come out. Shake often. Steeping is nothing more than flavor molecules bonding together so if you shake it they mingle more and you accelerate the steeping process.

Raw and gritty?! For Huntsman think autumn days, leaves of red and orange and yellow, country vistas, cottages, real fireplaces, the tang of woodsmoke in the air, a freshness in the breeze and a subtle touch of maple sweetness.
:D
