It's accepted that juice maintains it's fresh state longer in glass than plastic. How much of a difference is hard to say; I've assumed that as long as a juice is occassionally opened and shaken it ages in glass at close to the same rate as plastic. Just found out, in the case of at least one juice, Vita Bella, my assumption was wrong.

I compared my 2 month old VB, about 15ml in glass that has been opened and shaken a few times, to the same VB that's been in an LDPE bottle that I've been dripping from. The color difference is noticable, and so is the flavor. The stuff I've been dripping is richer, creamier, more custardy, and overall better.. like a well steeped VB. The stored VB doesn't seem much different than when fresh. So like many others, I can say I prefer a well steeped Vita, though fresher is still an amazing vape to me. And I agree with Bronze that the vanilla "other" flavor is what gets stronger, and not the tobacco.

Based on this, I'm thinking juice in glass (and maybe PET plastic) needs to be opened and shaken much more than I was in order to bring it to a more steeped age quicker.

At least with PET, the other aspect of steeping, light, is still able to permeate. With glass, unless you're using clear glass like 5 Pawns does, then the steeping in cobalt blue, amber or green will be much slower.

One day, hopefully, the hows and whys of steeping will be fully understood. Light, heat, time, shake, air, oxidation.. what does what and how much? Will a juice steeped with light taste different versus with heat or time? Time's my favorite, it's easily reliable and measurable, but now I'm thinking what material allows time to do the job the best? Bah. Best for me to just forget about that and enjoy a juice as it presents itself at the moment.

You hit the nail on the head! "Best for me to just forget about that and enjoy a juice as it presents itself at the moment."

I just ordered the original Evolv Kick from SuperT. Selling them for only $25, maybe clearing them out since the second version came out. There's clones available for cheaper, but from what I understand they do the flutter thing of VV devices likke the VAMO while this one is smooth like a ProVari.

You're correct about the clones. That's a damn good deal for a real deal Evolv Kick! You're going to like it!

Yup, we got this!

Glad you guys do, cause it makes my head hurt to think about it lol. That's what I get for comparing. It really is best for me to stick to what I'm doing instead of attempting to figure out a way to improve things. I'm still willing to change, but I'll wait for the masses to agree on something and follow suit. For now my juices aren't spoiling and taste pretty damn good to me.

Those clones were tempting, especially at an under $15 compared to the nearly $45 I always saw the Evolv at. Glad I got pointed to this deal before settling for less. Gonna get a lot of use out of the Kick.

I got a HHV order in today:

Sludge - I really like this one a lot; not sure if anyone will agree or identify with this impression, but it almost tastes leathery - dark, soothing, rich yet mellow, medium creamy. Not sure if I can let this one steep, it's too good to put down.

Huntsman - very nice; a little grassy, a little smokey, slight creaminess - going to let most of it steep a few weeks to see how it develops.

(Nice Pear - not a NET) - got this one since I love pear and it was recommended. It's as good as people said it is. Yum!

Huntsman only gets better, and better with age.

Nope, been free-balling it.

Funny, I thought I was the only one that got the "leathery" taste from Sludge; Huntsman and Sludge are both my favorite liquids, and I'm 4 miles from the HHV store! Been on those 2 for a year now. Anyway, if I like those, can you recommend me some others from other vendors, something similar but not identical? I'm still looking for the Holy Grail of tobacco flavours. Is the JohnsonCreek stuff any good? Tennessee Cured sounds good, but 100%VG, wouldn't it lack flavour? I've also heard of good things for Patriot by goodejuice.

Also, what's an ideal ratio for tobacco flavours? I seem to get more flavour from 60/40 than 70/30. Sorry for all the questions, but I'm glad johni told me about this thread! Glad to see there are other traditionalists!

I found the red oak Tennessee cured had a lot of good things going on there except I could not get passed the barbecue sauce like taste in the background

I do like HHV a lot

not like them but my fav so far is mom and pop tobacco haze
I also have some tobaccos from ahlusion steeping I have high hopes for based on reviews

and yes although I've been vaping for 6 month's I feel like I'm at the beginning of my journey

If you like Tobacco Haze, you may like The Plume Room's Smooth and Mild (I think they are really similar, but different enough to warrant having both). Tobacco Haze is a Tobacco Absolute liquid and Smooth and Mild is synthetic.

Johni's good people.

Huntsman is one of my favorites too. Pretty unique with it's woodsy, earthy flavor. For something similar I'd suggest checking out other medium, lightly sweet tobaccos. The Wild Woods line from Ahlusion has woodsy notes, but only comes flavored such as vanilla, apple, etc. Smooth Criminal from them is a very popular medium, sweet tobacco, and is also one of my favorites. Our biggest Huntman fan here, Hula, also really digs Smooth Criminal.

GoodeJuice has many great tobaccos. Vita Bella and Patriot I'd suggest to any tobacco vaper, but many of their others are great as well. Southern Gentleman from MountainOakVapers is a fantastic, complex tobacco. QuickNicJuice's Humpback (Turkish) and Fire in the Hole (Fire Cured) I'd also suggest.

Lots of great extracted tobaccos out there, stick around and get ready to sample! I have no recommendation for ideal ratio, as it's a personal preference thing, and depends on the vendor.

JC Original is vapable. It's a smooth, nutty tobacco. Not terribly nutty, sort of hazelnut wafer; it doesn't make me want to vomit like most 555's. Someone PIF'd me some. It's okay.

Try some Good Ejuice. Patriot isn't my favorite, but it's good. Definitely try some Organic #1 and Vita Bella. And Shatner is raving about the new Analog, and GJ4 is always on the tops of folks lists.

Well you just sold me on Tobacco Haze.

Mann, I mixed the Vecchio you sent me 50/50 with Sweet Georgia Peach. Regretted it at first, but after several days of steeping together it's quite tasty.
