Bronze,

You and Vapo are saying the Dragon Fire is a little sweet. I don't mind a little but if it is SWEET that may be too much for me.

Which would you recommend that would be on the low side of sweet?

Also they give you a choice of PG/VG ratios. Now this is something I don't have a clue about. Do you or Vapo Marx have a suggestion for this ratio.

I love choice but this can at times be overwhelming.

HGT, when I got into vaping I said there was no way on Earth I wanted anything to do with sweet vapes. Didn't want even a hint of sweet. I found out quickly they were my favorite. I think you would do yourself a disservice if you didn't try them. That said, I also like straight up tobacco too. I like the full spectrum. Keep an open mind to see what you like. Dragon's Fire is not cloying sweet. None of the HHV are (with Heavenly Army and Shadow being the closest). Stick to my list I gave you. Those are the most popular HHV NETs. Give them each 3mls (and a few days) before you determine if they are thumbs up or thumbs down.

As for PG/VG. PG gives you more throat hit and more flavor (generally speaking) and VG gives you more vapor. This is why many vendors offer you blends to get the benefits of both. I vape 70/30 (PG/VG). This is perhaps the most popular ratio but there are many different ratios that are satisfactory depending on the individual. If you're not sure, just start out with 50/50. Nic content...if you were a Marlboro Light guy then 12 - 18mgs. If you were a Marlboro Red guy then 24mg. If you were ultra light then 6 - 12mg.

Hope this helps. And if ordering from HHV, be sure to mark "No Menthol". Unless you want menthol (which few do...even former menthol smokers).

To tell you the truth, most of us here don't have a clue :)

We're here to learn from each other, to try new things, and to discover the richness and variety of NETs. The more experienced members know more about tobacco just because they've been in this thread longer. I came from smoking cheap, near generic cigarettes. I can't tell a Virginia from a Burley. I know what I taste, but that's been changing over time with more restored senses.

We like to educate ourselves in this "hobby," this "lifestyle" of vaping. The most important thing is just to discover something new to you that you might like and share your thoughts with others. Four months ago, I was all about the analog experience. Now I want to vape something with lots of flavor, some sweetness and something that keeps my senses sharp. The members of this thread were here then, gave suggestions and I try to give back to them what I can and have a good time along the way.

So relax, enjoy and have fun. There is something for everyone here.

Fantastic post Jeff.

And one other HHV note. They use alcohol in their extracting process. Some of it remains when your juice is delivered. So upon delivery, take the caps and drippers off for a day or two to allow the alcohol to evaporate. Then you can put the caps/drippers back on. Alcohol does not enhance the flavor of your juice so get it out of there. :)

y cherry y,

OK - you sold me but then I went to their site. What's with these NET vendors. "We only take a limited amount of new customers per day", "We are closed now but will be open in the AM for an unspecified period of time" and "It may take five days to get it out the door".

Gee - I have trouble dealing with a three day wait from Halo. I don't think I can handle all the if, ands, or buts from these NET vendors. I just want to buy some e-juice (good stuff of course) but I have never taken kindly to jumping thru hoops.

Poor me :(

That's too bad. You should probably order from the vendors that mix huge batches, rather than the small ones that custom mix every bottle. Most NETs are in the second camp, and even if you get it quickly, there's a wait for the flavors to meld. I wasn't selling Smokin Cherries at all; me selling days are over. My suspicion is that a new-to-NETs vaper will probably not even like Ahlusion's aromatics. Good luck finding some stuff you like that's easy to order. That's the most important thing.

Dark Horse and Huntsman are the least sweet of the Purity line (I haven't had the pleasure of Pirates Booty, so can't say). Those 2 are similiar, with Dark Horse being the ground that Huntsman walks on. Huntsman has a few more layers, while Dark Horse is grassier and least sweet.

Up next would be Legend and Serendipity.

Then Heavenly Army, Shadow, Oompa, Dragon's Fire*, and Sludge.

*even though they come from the same source, Dragon's Fire, to me, is sweeter than Legend and Serendipity. But that's just me, and I don't taste what most others taste in it, either.

Bronze,

Thanks for such an encompassing answer. I really appreciate it. As I said I like choice but some of this stuff is so alien to me it makes it almost impossible to pick.

Actually I am/was so totally alone on my e-juice selections that when I stumbled onto a site that made you pick the PG/VG ratio I would just mark them off my list in an effort to save myself from making a decision knowing full well I had no idea what or why.

When in doubt, go 50/50 -- you really can't miss with that one.

y cherry y,

You didn't have to sell me. When someone says the CHERRY whatever is good I'll bite. I love cherries period.

"Easy", Well so far there has been no place easier than Goodejuice. There site is simple to the point and so incredibly fast I am still having trouble accepting the shipment speed.

True about GeJ. Did you get their cherry NET? Those will take some steeping, though.

Although I found all the HHV flavors I tried to be a little too sweet for me to vape all day, I wouldn't call them cloying at all. I liked Legend enough to order a 30 ml before I had even finished my sample. Definitely let 'em air out with caps off for a day or two.

I also enjoyed Dragon's Fire, Pirate's Booty and Oompa.

HHV offers a sample pack and that's a great, affordable way to try them out. I believe the samples are only available in 12mg 70/30, though, but that's fine (IMO).

It's the same for me, the sweeter than those two and I don't experience it nearly the same way others do. I actually don't get tobacco at all from Dragon's Fire, and didn't find much to really like about it. For several experienced NETers though, it's their favorite.

Jef,

I actually got that same suggestion from "Deej" of "DeejStuff".

So I think I will go with your suggestion.

When I first walked into my local "Head Shop" and started with an ego twist and some (brand) Vapage e-juice I never had any idea it would grow into such an all encompassing hobby/lifestyle.

PS - I am not a proponent of "Head Shops" but when you live in a small town in the middle of the desert in south west Utah sometimes you just have to go with what you can get. I started shopping their when Costco stopped selling Cigarettes and this head shop was the only place in town that had some off brands at a price slightly below the average national debt.

cherry,

No - I didn't notice it. One of the first things I noticed was the Vita Bella. The worst part is I picked because I have seen it mention in this thread a Gazillion^2 times. I figured anything that got that many raves had to be a save choice.

Actually with all the help I received from this group I think I have to shutdown the online purchases until I at least get to try some of the stuff I have purchased... the dollars go out pretty fast when all you have to do is click on "OK - do-it". Reminds me of the slot machines over in Nevada, just put in a credit card and push buttons and it is only 29 miles from my front door - Ouch! ;)

@Big Juicy -- I can detect no Organic #1 as a base on this; to me, it is closer to Vita Bella with that similar vanilla twang.

It is unmistakable to me. Again, maybe because I tried the flavored first before the base. I don't know. But it is crystal clear to my palate.

I get why they do this and respect it, but I havent been able to get an order into Ahlusion in a MONTH. That means I am all out of Maple Burley. Strange (and brutal) days indeed. Most peculiar mama.

I have been very active in this thread for some time and I think this is the first time I heard Bronze or anyone else claim Dragon's Fire is their favorite juice. WOW. It is always interesting to me once you get past the heavyweights (Louisville, London, Bluegrass Burley, Organic #1, Apache, Devil Dog!...is VB in this class, ok...) what someone's "favorite" is. For me it remains Maple Burley, but that could change. Now I hear a guy I respect a ton in Bronze say Dragon;s Fire is his favorite e-juice. I gotta decide on my next vendor to try. Looks like it is between HHV, MOV, or QnJ. Tough call.

The description of Dragon Fire is pretty much...nondescript. No idea what to expect. What is the flavor profile on this juice?

If I'm remembering right, Dragon's Fire won the NETty awards in the favorite overall category. Lot's of love for that vape. You haven't tried any HHV yet? There a must-try, as the people that like them tend to REALLY like them. They have a faithfull fan base. They aren't a vendor I must have at all times on hand (currently only Ahlusion and GeJ are like that for me) but I do like them quite a bit. Huntman by far is my fav from them, and Legend is in my holy trinity of totally awesome cherry-baccos.

It is odd to me how bad certain vendors are at certain things. Some have horrible sites either in design and/or user friendliness, some have horrible packaging, some have horrible customer service, some lack consistency almost as a rule, and some have shat descriptions. HHV pisses me off because their descriptions don't give you much of anything on many of the juices. That just chaps my backside. I think for that reason I have put them in the corner because it really, really bothers me that I have to be proactive outside of the vendor site to try and figure out what a juice will offer me. Damn that makes me chappy.
