Gold Rising from www.ahlusion.us

The juice: Gold Rising is a honey tobacco in Ahlusion's non-aromatic line. juice is 12mg nic, 50% pg/vg, a few months old.

The Hardware: cotton wicked micro coil, 28ga Kanthal at 1 ohm on an IGO-L; vaped on a mechanical mod

Ratings are from 1-5 depending on where a juice falls in an attributes spectrum. Only the last rating, "overall", is based on 5 being the best.

Sweetness (1 is very dry, 5 is very sweet): 3. Nice, medium level of sweetness that seems to come from the honey, which feels sweet and tangy. The sweetness feels natural and doesn't overwhelm during long vaping sessions.

Tobacco Impact (1 is very mild or simple tobacco, 5 is very aggressive or complex): 3. This isn't quite the medium tobacco that I would normally give around a 3, but it does overall feel very much like a tobacco vape. I like the tobacco used, works well with the honey. Like many tobaccos in Ahlusion's non-aromatic line, it's a pretty neutral blend, and has a little bit of leafiness.

Vapability: 4. It has kind of an odd tang that doesn't always work for me, but I'm in the mood for it enough to pick it up on a semi-regular basis. When I do vape it, it works for a fairly long time. I've vaped it around 8 hours this session and it doesn't get tiring. The flavor has legs too, and doesn't fade much at all during a long session.

Flavor Accuracy: 1. Ahlusion describes this as their take on an RY4. I'm not sure how they figure that, the statement is just plain inaccurate. An RY4 is a combination of tobacco, caramel, and vanilla, and this is clearly a honey tobacco. I wish they would remove the RY4 reference, as it just causes confusion as to what this vape is. Now, as a honey tobacco, it's quite good. The honey has a tang/sour/fermented taste that may not have much mass appeal, but it's been a fun and enjoyable vape for me.

Overall: 3.5. I like Gold Rising quite a bit. I won't reorder it, their Honey Cured is a similar vape to this in their aromatic line, but with more tobacco and a flavor I prefer, wins out for me. I've enjoyed my time with Gold Rising though, it's been odd, weird, intriguing, and often highly enjoyable.

Taking a break from my NETcom lovefest with some GeJ Organic. I do like the voluptuous mouthfeel/vapor production of this higher-VG juice even with the increased tendency toward wicking/gunking issues. I'm wondering if I should go for 60/40 or even 50/50 on my next NETcom purchase - but would I do well to order with an extra shot of extract in that case?

I think I read in the NET.com thread, that Clay uses VG base for the higher VG ratios, and a PG base for the higher PG ratio... so that should offset flavor discrepancies. Which is.... well, it's neat of him to use both extracts to suit his customers.

London is good. Damn good. A top ranked contender for heavyweight champ of the world. I guess to me it is Ken Norton. I thought from day 1 that this would be my favorite juice. However, it is not. I keep it on hand and vape it often, but in the battle against its brother Louisville it loses out every time. I think Louisville might be the best NET on the planet, I think that highly of it. Other than my obsession with Maple Burley it is my favorite NET. I never thought it would come to that on the W2V thing, but it has. Why? I mean, other than the fact Louis is exceptional.

I grow bored with London. To me it sings on one note. Now that note is pitch perfect and I could listen to it for hours on end, but in the final analysis it remains one note. I just don;t get as nuanced an experience as i want. I get bored with it and jump to another liquid or 17 and inevitably forget about it for a few weeks at a time.

Just my experience. I truly feel that to be a MADE Netizen...to make your bones into La CosaNETstra, you have to vape London and Louisville. For me, London is damn good...could even hold a belt for a while...but Louisville is like the Ali of the division.

London is still one of my go-to juices, LOVE the stuff! I'm a fan of the Managua as well but I still haven't tries the Louisville... and W2V is closed next week due to a family emergency!!! I hope everything is ok there...

I just finished off the last of the London I had sitting on my dresser:blink:... They're taking orders, but not filling them until they get back next week. Louisville and London are gonna have to wait for a while.

So to run with my 70's heavyweight boxing take...

Ali - Louisville
Frasier - Blue Grass Burley
Norton - London
Foreman - Devil Dog!
Holmes - Apache
Quarry - Organic #1
Wepner - Black Cavendish

Friggin nice line-up:2cool:. The NETCOM Black Cavendish is another I can't put down once I start. The must-tries are piling up quick! Has anyone else here tried the H1N1 Shatner recommended? I'm not much of a sweet vape guy, but damn that TA/NET hybrid(?) really is a winner! Really in the family of RY4's, but with some extra depth with some spiciness and cinnamon hints!

And I was all into getting my hands on it until I hit the site and... well, not this week. I'm just going to wait until the situation is resolved over there before placing a new order.

Donley and I have been called out of state for a personal family matter and due to the nature of the situation, the Check Out portion of the site will be closed from Monday Oct. 7th and is scheduled to re-open again on Saturday, Oct. 19th around noon.

If you want, you may shop the site and add items to your cart to hold them. Orders placed when check out re-opens will be processed in the order received. Shipping will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 22nd.

We understand this is inconvenient and truly appreciate your patience during our absence. We respectively request that you please hold your email inquiries during this period as well.

I vape ALOT of Managua...and quite a bit of Alcazar too. I have one or the other on me at all times. Managua is the undisputed king of cigar vapes, period. A remarkable juice. Now...NETCOM 3 Crowns is at least in the discussion. I out it away for a month before deciding.

I have not tried the Alcazar, nor the CI, which I know is another highly-rated must-try. I have 30ml of Yellow Mane and Bourbon Seasoned as well as 60 of Cognac on the way but no 3-Crowns (again).
I've had the Cognac before and I can vape it right out of the mail so I figured I'll split it this time and give 30ml a good aging this time around... Bourbon and Mane are a first time for me. I re-upped with 60m l Black Cav again for the same reason, I finished off the 15ml I had in days of it coming in the mail. I want to get some age on some milliliters this time.

Well, I got my RBA in the mail today. As soon as I opened the box I regretted purchasing it. This happens every time I buy an RBA. All the rest have ended up in the trash pretty much immediately. I tried this one on my eVic (my Atmizoo Roller mech. isn't firing for some reason). It's pretty freaking blah (thehouseofvapor 510 "stingray" atties give a much better vape than the stock coil).

As soon as I'm not disgusted by my purchase anymore I'll attempt to build a micro coil. And for some reason I order 2. This one and a Phoenix. Don't know what model this is; I'll get pics up at a later date.

Alright, so I built my first "semi" micro coil last night after I had several pain killers in me. 28G 10 wraps. Pretty damn good outcome for my first try. But it won't fire!!! Wth, the coil isn't touching any of the RDA body.

Here are pics of the coil and wick set up:

On the plus side I did get some new J's. They fresh out tha box, son!

On a serious note, I think I can get this whole coil thing down; that was my first attempt, wrapped on a pin punch out of my gunsmith tool set. But why is it not firing? It's on a mech, fwiw. Jerms, Anthony, Jeff: do you see anything obvious?

Shatner, use a multimeter and determine where you have lost contact. Most likely the firing pin and positive post on the atty do not have contact.

If you're going to use silica, your wick needs to be tighter in the coil. Also looks like the coil will contact the atty housing when installed which creates a dead short. Coil can't touch the base or cap.
