I seriously cannot fathom why anyone would vape Boba's when there is Smooth Criminal. It makes no sense to me at all. Unless you haven't tried SC? In that case, get on it...because personally I will never vape Boba's again...and that is saying something.

I was vaping Smooth Criminal a year before you joined ECF. Are you looking for a fight?

Just a quick update: I have now tried 2 liquids from NET.com, and 1 from Quicknic... and both [vendors] are winners!

But the juices aren't what I was expecting them to taste like from the vendor's descriptions.

I am taking my time with these, and waiting on proper reviews until my second pass.

oh, Shatner -- H1N1 is pretty tasty, too. Slightly, very light nuttiness that is barely worth mentioning since it fades. As I said, a fuller review after the second pass.

You wont like Shadowfax. :)

You are right.

Shadow seems basically like DF minus the chocolate. I simply don't care for their "tobacco" base AT ALL. This stuff is close to being pleasant...so close that to me it is nasty.

I will give HHV THIS: both vapes on inhale have a thick, warm, fluffy thing going on that is very unique and cool. After that yuck.

I would NEVER recommend this vendor to somebody seeking a legit natural tobacco!

I can see why people might like these. I have a file clerk working for me who looks 12 years old that vapes gummy bear through carto tanks out of an iTaste and if he wanted to try tobacco I would lay these on him. Then again I gave him my candied cav someone sent me and he said it was "too harsh," but I digress. I get people liking this, but anytime you want to scratch this itch roll with Ahlusion Smooth Criiminal for the love of all things holy...or even its little sister Boba

I can taste the tobacco in HHV. I can't taste it in Boba's. You would probably like Huntsman, Dark Horse, or Pirate's Booty more. Those have some Earthy notes in them.

You and I do not share the same tastes when it comes to faves. Smooth Criminal didn't do anything for me. I do enjoy upfront tobacco vapes though I could vape Apache every day. And love my fire-cured too.

A bit harsh, but they are on the fringe since they seem to have a unique profile. BUT, Huntsman, and I would say Legend (and Dark Horse) fall into the legit natural tobacco category you have. Do not forsake HHV based upon a small sampling of their NETs... Huntsman is NOT Shadowfax or Dragon's Fire.

I threw so many extra bottles I had in there because I was moving and also I remembered that all in all, you hadn't tried but just a few vendors' NET offerings. I remembered QNJ was one of them. I keep trying to like their liquid, but just don't. So I'm finished trying. I'm glad you're enjoying it.

And yeah, the H1N1 does have a bit of a nutty taste, but not anything that's even very noticeable. To me, at least.

I'm looking forward to read your reviews.

Im a big Bobas fan, but Im ready to try something a little differant. Bj suggested I try Smooth Criminal, so I just put in an order for a 30 ml bottle. Do you guys tend to steep this juice at all?

Eight weeks for me! Some people like it fresh, but it doesn't taste anything like tobacco.

I know people compare Boba's and Crim, but I don't really understand it. To me there two totally different juices, totally different flavor profiles, and with totally different positives that makes them each interesting. Smooth Crim is awesome for me when in the mood for a medium tobacco vape, Boba's was good when in the mood for, well, Boba's.

In all fairness, Wlad first made the comparison, albeit a roundabout comparison. But anyway, Smooth Criminal is basically Ahlusion's BB, and Jungle Juice is, well...

This is when SC is in its prime (4 months +)

photo (22).jpg

Young SC is Verbal Kint while aged SC is Keyser Söze.

Verbal is pretty sweet, you have to admit...but what an analogy!

The thing with Verbal is that he tells so many "stories," you end up believing he ain't the one. Mr. Söze leaves no question. Of course, put all of that in a bottle and it's just the greatest trick ever pulled.

One overarching reason I tend not to participate in any debate about how X juice is better (meaning more delicious and pleasing to me as a vaper) than Y juice is that my palate changes over time. I often have "love affairs" with juices that start with a bang and end with a whimper. Sometimes those love affairs are brief interludes, lasting no more than six months. Other romances take a year or longer to cycle through. Examples include NLV Bounty Hunter (a one-year affair) and NLV Gold (a six-month romance), both of which I hardly ever vape now. HHV's NET hybrids tasted good to me initially, but they lost luster over time, effectively killed by Ahlusion, GeJ, and QnJ NETs. A+ Smooth Criminal is a contrasting example. We had a brief-but-torrid affair, then we settled into being good friends and have remained so ever since. At this point, I'm quite friendly with most of the other Ahlusion juices in my stash---BGB, Smokin' Cherries, House Blend, JG Blend. DD is a bit much for me, but I never liked Sweet Georgia Peach and still don't. Go figure.

On less frequent occasions, certain juices come, then go, then come back. A case in point is BWB RY4. I started vaping that very popular eliquid early on in my vaping journey, about November 2010. I loved it with a passion for about a year, then my ardor cooled, in part because I was vaping other RY4s by the dozens and found many I liked as well or better. By mid-2012, I vaped very little BWB RY4, although my second 30ml bottle was still nearly full, and didn't even like it. I continued to comparison-vape it when reviewing new RY4s, however. Then, late this summer, BWB RY4 miraculously resurrected itself to my palate, and now I'm in danger of using up my last 15mls of it before the end of 2013.

At first, I wasn't impressed with Boba's Bounty, but I grew to like it. Then I didn't. Then I did again. Then didn't again, and now do again. The thing about Boba's for me, after 2 1/2 years of waxing and waning in my regard for it, is its long-term staying power. Time and again, it returns to favor for me. That's impressive. The majority of juices I vape---retail or DIY---have well-defined life-spans. They live, then they die, and while they may sporadically return as zombies, they're still pretty much dead to me. Vaping them after their demise, I mostly remember how I once liked them. Juices like Boba's and BWB RY4, however, are special in their ability to resurrect themselves in my eyes (er, palate) to new levels of appreciation.

These days, I'm on the outs with my GeJ NETs. They all hit me as meh right now, largely because I'm so totally in love with my own home-brewed NETs, but I'm fairly confident that my seven GeJ's NETs will come back to life as my palate cycles through its changes. If not, though, that's OK too. I don't worry about it, since all I want are juices that make me happy, and I have those in abundance.

Other vapers' palates may be more stable or fixed than mine, but I don't regard myself as unusual or peculiar---I imagine that a fair percentage of long-term vapers would report experience parallel or similar to my own.
