Caramel Wild Wood from Ahlusion..

Lots of love going on with this juice for many Ahl fans in the Ahl thread. I liked it at first, though not as much as others seemed to. I found it enjoyable, but not on the same level as some of my favorite Ahlusion non-aromatics like Smooth Crim, JG Blend, and Sahara.

After several weeks of steeping, my opinion is coming around on this juice, especially after vaping it since last night and into today. Fresh, the caramel is very sweet and buttery which reminded me of FVF RY4 from MountainOakVapors. I liked it better with CWW, but was still a little much for me. With age the butteriness is pretty much gone and the sweetness has diminished, transforming into more of a straight caramel tobacco. This is much closer to what works for me, and I'm finding it very enjoyable for a long session.

Many love this juice fresh, but if you find it a bit too much dessertish like me just give it some time, it will come around. There's actually kind of a dry tobacco blast that's coming through now. I still would like to see more complexity to the tobacco, but as it stands I would consider it a reorder and a very solid caramel-bacco.

I gave up smoking fine cigars last year, and started vaping. When the craving hit me to buy a cedar wrapped Romeo Y Juliet at my favorite tobacconist's Humidor, I saw the e-cigs and bought the rechargeable blu brand in tobacco flavor. YUK! What a joke! Taste nothing like tobacco! We stopped at a gas station & I bought the carts for it in Vanilla. Better. But "no cigar"... Determined to give up cigars, I kept "taking vaping to the next level", long story short, I now have several twist / spinner types with Pro Tanks, & Mech Mods, as well as a VAMO V5. Including rebuildable "attys", & all the equipment I use to make my own coils.
But always searching for that cigar taste. I joined this site after reading posts for many months.
The only thread I found before this one on "Natural Tobaccos"? I saw several recommended NaturallyExtractedTobacco.com
(NET.com) brand "3 Crown". So I orders 15ml @ 24mg/ml with Extra flavor added in the glass bottle. The highest end they offer!
Now I have a palate for fine cigars and I must say that I was very disappointed. If I were to write a review? It would be:
(Overwhelming taste of burned rubber, very dry, with strong notes of ragweed, and a slight hint of stale cheap cigarette ....!)
Remembering that I ordered the flavor option "Extra" added, I cut I in half with VG based Nicotine diluted to the same strength: 24mg/ml. Had a couple of Brandies, and tried it again.
Now I can say only that it's tolerable. It is however closer to smoking tobacco than vaping, but I've drawn the conclusion that "smoking is smoking, and vamping is vaping." And they will never be the same. However after reading this thread? I see two venders that keep being mentioned. And NET.com never was. After finishing 1/2 ml of this stuff, I do see that it can be an acquired taste separate from the taste that I already have for fine cigars.
Now that being said, I have found 1 out 100 that fits my pallet for a fine cigar, but it's not naturally extracted. It's an imitation flavor called "Cohiba" found in a small mall in Florida called (If Electronic Cigarettes) but I had to order it, and wait until they emailed me to let me know that I could come pick it up In Oviedo, Fl.
I have ordered some from Want2vape, & will order some from Mom & Pop Vapor Shop based on this thread. I'll post my reviews after I try them.

A local SoCal juice maker is starting a new line of NET juices. That's almost shocking to me. There's an appalling lack of good tobacco juices in the vast majority of SoCal stores. Considering the sheer number of stores and juice companies in SoCal, I figured someone would offer quality tobaccos. Hopefully this new company does some interesting things.

It would be interesting to find out what equipment you are vaping with and what voltage/wattage you have it set too... Your experience is far different than the majority of those that have reported on this thread and the N-E-T.com thread that I suspect it's the equipment to blame... the majority of reviews on any of N-E-T.com's e-liquid usually mention how accurate they taste to the originals

I went to a new B&M store today (opened last week) that's about 15 minutes away and it turns out the owner is the creator of the Opus. Also there was Brandon, the owner of Evolv (created the Kick and DNA20) who actually lives in the city. Got to talk to them and see many high end mods Brandon has been sent free from vendors (he was using a Marks Bugs Wizard Evolved which runs over $500). It was great finally meeting people in person that actually understands vaping besides just pen styles and egos.

omeratwood, how long did you steep your 3-crown? I also had initial problems with it but it was most likely my equipment (I'd say 95% chance), the rubber gasket overheating due to bad coils. Or maybe something was in the juice, but after a month or so steep, there was no rubber left.

I can't say that it was the most elegant and interesting cigar flavor I had, but definitely as a vape, it was a bold cigar vape. Even inhaling it gave me the lung fullness as a cigar. I was able to get very bold leathery earthy wrapper qualities out of it. I'd suggest giving it a month steep and then vaping it during the 2nd month. It's definitely a dry cigar vape though with a Muhammad Ali punch boldness

Can you give more detail on location or internet site without violating ecf rules re:vendors. The only EVapes I can locate is a chain of B&M in Canada and they don't list any store South of the border. Thanks.

I used a Kanger Pro Tank Mini with a clean 2.2 ohm coil, on a Vision Spinner starting @ 3.3 volts & turning increasing the power to a warmer vapor.. up to 3.8. Then I tried it in an EVOD with a clean 2.5 ohm coil atop a freshly charged standard 1 amp/hr 3.7 volt battery. I'll try it in my VAMO V5 with an AnyVape Davide Mini Glassomizer with clean 1.8 ohm coil, but I'm sure it's not the equipment.
It's my palate! I've been smoking high end cigars for years. Romeo Y Julieta cedro deluxe no.1 was my main go to cigar. My humidor always had a selection of fine hand made Dominican, Nicaraguan, & dare I say Habano cigars. I never cared for cigars produced in the US, hell even Honduran cigars were too sub par for my spoiled tast of what I have been cultured to as a very fine cigar.
Now. All that being said, I don't hate this e-liquid. But that's what it is! And for anyone to state that this taste like a fine cigar? Has no palate for for fine cigars. I'm still vaping it right now. & I'm not going to give it a bad review as an e-liquid. I understand where the others are coming from. But naturally extracted tobacco e-liquids is a newly aquired taste that I cannot compare to real fine cigars. My post post reflects a review as if it was a real cigar. Which it is not! It's e-liquid. My bottle states that it was made December 30, 2012.

I challenge any former cigar smoker to try it and tell me that it doesn't have distinct notes of a fine cigar! But it's not like smoking, were I will concede that
N-E-T.com is. And I have MANY cigar / tobacco e-liquids in my collection that don't even merit a positive review in any category, unless the catagory was 80's cologne.
So many times I've had high hopes based on the many reviews you've mentioned. And later disappointed when it I tried it. Halo, Vaporetti, Totally Wicked.. & many more. But I'm still only vaping & not smoking at all. It's became like a hobby & I love it like a new chapter in my life. I feel great! No coughing. & after having a legion removed from my gum? No worry of a cancer causing habit! I have many more vendors to try yet; Johnson Creek, Mom & Pop Vapor.. ect. & I'm waiting on my order from want2vape.

I'll chime in with my reviews as I keep trying cigar / tobacco / pipe flavored liquids. But I'm sure that it's long time cluttered palate that finds most juices in this category an insult if compared to the real thing.

Well, AJ from venerable vaping got my package mailed out through the BLIZZARD of 2014 (Winter Storm Hercules, I believe -- yes, they name everything these days), but my HHV hasn't shipped yet. I guess it'll give me a chance to deep clean the RBAs and build the most wonderful coils in them whilst I wait

In the meantime, and since I have a day off, I have a few more NET.com samples to try out.

I'm no equipment expert here and there are a few, and I've learned that for BCCs (bottom coil changeable) the resistance in ohms is very important based on batt voltage.
I use 1.8 or 2.2 ohm coils on my Protank 2 Minis and T3S clearos with my 3.7 volt regulated Kanger batts. 1.5 and 2.5 ohms are out of range for real good flavors. 1.5 and 1.8s on 3.3 volt batts ok but NOT 2.5s.
With VariableVoltage Twist/Spinner or mods, your combos aren't nearly as limited.

Yes, it is your palate or as I like to say taste-buds or 'budds'. I smoked cigarettes for 58 years and have been vaping 3 months following the leadership on these forums and have not found a 'cigarette' ejuice. I have not tried any of the Ahlusion aromatics so they may actually replicate the flavor.
What I have learned here and from trying only a small variety of flavors from some top vendors is that I no longer want to find the 'cigarette' flavor as some of the ejuice blend are actually kinder and gentler on the budds than any cigarette I've ever smoked.

The other bit I've come away with is that the time I spent smokimg pipes years ago, only now has shown me that I like juice that leans towards the sweeter side of tobacco which cigarettes never did. I'm also a nicotine addict and the juice will take care of that in any flavor I come to like.

So I hope you find a pleasant alternative to 'high-end cigars' in your time vaping rather than losing interest due to not duplicating that premium, thigh rolled, perfect Cuban Corona.

What would be your suggestions between the FT clones/knock-offs: the KF 3.1, the KFL/Russian 91%, the Ithaka, or the Fogger? Based on ease of build and flavor delivery, which would you suggest? I'm asking here as I primarily vape NET.

I love my KFL's for ease of build and flavour but I can only use them with HHV NET's for the most part if I intend using the same wick for more than a day (micro and cotton yarn). NET's from MOV and NET.com gunk up the coils/wick where they need to be changed on an almost daily basis. All I have is authentic KFL, but may be able to help a little. As far as flavor and ease of build, either KF style will offer the same flavor and ease of build, which in my opinion is a very easy build and flavor as good as dripping. Both those have airflow control and are pretty much the same, except the 3.1 is taller. The KFL/R91 is easier to fill, but some have reported the one that FT sells, the Tobeco, has an annoying whistle which may or may not be fixed. I really think either (or both) would be a good option.

I'm vaping Bill's American Spirit NET in my KFL right now, and the flavor is spot on. I've been changing the cotton every tank or two so I can dry burn, and that only takes a minute.

I'm under the impression that people who don't like AFC on the KF clones want prefer an airier draw, so unless you like the draw very loose it should be fine. I prefer a medium to tight draw, and personally find the regular KFL too airy so I've covered half the airhole with tape.

Yeah I cancelled my FT order when I got the authentic KFL. Kind of glad I did because of the whistle. I've read fixes, but most seem to involve a drill and skill. If I was to pick one for myself now I'd go for the V3.1 unless they fixed the whistle issue on the other.

Another great option is getting in a co-op for the Russian 91. I've read there as low as $56 (edit, which I see Cherry just mentioned lol^) that way. Busardo did an interesting comparison and he actually prefers the R91 to the authentic KFL and KFL+.

It's quite amazing how using a KF doesn't sacrifice any flavor. It really is as good as dripping. The one thing any tank won't be able to do is changing flavors on the fly, otherwise I'd probably use the KF all the time since the performance is there.

Rebuilding on an Ithaca is a mighty pain in the ... when you compare it to a kayfun.

Kayfun: excellent flavor, dead easy builds, good vapor, decent juice capacity. However, swapping out coils or wicks in the middle of a tank is a pain in the .... You've gotta drain it first.

Ithaca: bloody pain in the ... to build compared to the kayfun. Prone to leaking through air holes if you don't build right.

Tai fun GT: probably has the lagest juice capacity. I personally think the general function is very very similar to a kayfun although the coils are are slightly closer to the driptip. Similarly easy to build compared to a kayfun with elevated deck. Also prone to leaking through the air holes if not build right. Solid flavor though

Kraken or smoktech RSST: both genesis style atomizer. I personally think they are just the easiest thing to build ever. And they have flavor close to a dripper. I've only ever used cotton on it though. Also, depending on how you plug things up, genesis style atomizers can either flood or leak like crazy if laid sidewards but that's really dependent on your cool and wick set up. The kraken allows for a possibility of a double coil over the RSST single coil.

I would strongly recommend all of the above except for the ithaka. That one is just a little too intense for me in terms of build complexity

How does KF 3.1 and FT clone behave in terms leaking when they are carried in pockets and laying sideways?

I've been thinking about the FT KF 3.1 clone for a while now... I'm confused about dry burning the coil while tank is half full. Does the 3.1 tank need to be drained before dry burning the coil?
