Hi All...After all the venders and samples I've been through the last couple months I think I've finally found my vendor.
Prime Vaping...Natural Virginia...extra shot of flavor...all VG..I'm likin it!
For someone whos looking for a juice thats not overly sweet, tobacco taste dominates.

I gotta say, as one who initially targeted straight tobacco flavors only, I have shifted my thinking and actually enjoy the ones with a little bit of creamy sweetness. Not too much, but enough to "smooth" it out. It makes for a little heavier vape I think. Some of these grassy, earthy, woodsy straight up tobacco juices tend to be bland. They "feel" more than they "taste". That's not a bad thing, but I do like the flavored juices too that give both "feel" and "taste" Guess a lot of it depends on mood and what time of the day it is.

What grade mesh are you using? 280, 325, 400? I understand the 280 and 325 is better for the thicker juices? Is this what you have found? Have you played around with the SS/cotton hybrid wicks? Sorry for all the questions. I'm starting to rewick my heads but that SS/cotton hybrid looks interesting. But I'm not going to waste my time fooling with it if it does not somehow show noticeably improved performance. I know those SS wicks are durable but then I can make a glass wick last long enough for my satisfaction and rewicking is no big deal. Thanks Victor.

Made some 100% cotton and hybrid wicks for the Vivi Nova tank and though I'd call it a nice improvement over fiberglass (silica, ceramic, etc.) I still wan't getting what I wanted overall.

Now using simply 400x400 mesh with great result on juices as thick as 50/50 in the little $9 Phoenix style RBA, like this:

Reinventing the Phoenix Rebuildable Atomizer « pinoyvaper

And it's taken my vaping experience to a whole 'nother level of goodness. The DCA with bridgeless 306s hardly gets touched here anymore.

I'd probably try a 325 count mesh on juices closer to 100% VG though.

Interesting. It appears the SS mesh wick is a perfect modification for that RBA. Not so much on Nova's. That is what I thought. The RBA is such a totally different design. I'm on a self-imposed equipment moratorium. But I'll have to put the RBA with SS mesh wick on my list. Perhaps in a couple/few months I'll dig into it further. Meanwhile, I will just rewick my Novas with glass and fool around a little with the cotton since I have it on order. Lots of people just like to tinker. I like to tinker too but I want noticeable performance improvements as well and don't want to waste time on simply tinkering. Thanks Vic. That was useful information.

I know what you mean. I'm realizing there are several (at least) different categories to "tobacco" flavors. On one end there's stuff like Boba's, which I'm starting to think of as candy store type tobaccos, pretend tobaccos so to speak (not taking away from Boba's, I still like it). Then you have your Gandalfs, which are not pretend tobacco, that have a bolder, more real tobacco flavor, but that tobacco flavor is still competing with a lot of other sweet somethings constantly peeking out at you. And then you have the "natural" (for lack of a better way to put it) tobaccos these guys in this thread are so fond of, which aren't pretending to be anything but tobacco. I'm sure there are some others that fit somewhere in between the three I listed, but that seems like the broad spectrum to me. I haven't tried Huntsman yet, for instance, but from the reviews I've seen I'm guessing it falls somewhere between a Gandalf and a Vita Bella.

I've only tried the one suggestion in that last category so far, but based on that, I'm thinking a lot of these will be acquired tastes. In all fairness, it's pretty easy for some of those other juices (pretend tobacco or otherwise) to slather a bunch of sweet stuff on your tongue and make you go "YUM!". I'll be trying a few others before I decide either way about them.

One of the things that is stuck in the back of my mind with regard to modifying designs is that if modifying somehow dramatically improves the performance of a particlar device, then it is likely the manufacturer would have already done it. I think in the good majority of cases, that is true. This renders much of the modifications people do to either just replacing what they have for cost advantages or just monkeying around for the fun of it. But then there are those occassional mods that seem to genuinely improve performance and/or durability. Vic's SS mesh mod he uses on his RBA seems to fall in that category.

What an astute assumption!

You still got another one coming and you can ponder on that for as long as you like. However, if it takes you to a not so pleasurable place, please return to sender...but take as much time as you like to decide.

I have a juice here from LIQUA (an Italian-made juice) that is as bland as it gets. It definitely falls into that "natural tobacco" category that GT describes. The only flavor you get out of it is a slight celery taste (or as Mann might call it...vegetal). There is no complexity or mystery to this smoke juice whatsoever. It provides an excellent throat hit and is very clean to taste and burn. It might be imagined, but this one seems to make me salivate and, as a result, it's a good juice to (as GT likes to say) "clean off the palate", without being offensive or difficult to vape. I find this to be very similar to Huntsman which is a little more grassy and a little less celery than the LIQUA...and that's a fine line. But it achieves many of the same conclusions. Great vaping experience? No. Uncontroversial? Yes. Worth vaping? Yes. It seems I draw this conclusion frequently when sampling "natural" tobacco flavors without all the Yummies that so many add to perk it up.

Will do. "Naztee!" juices aside, I never decide on a juice till I've given it a fair chance. I wouldn't be vaping Boba's or Gandalf right now if that weren't true. I've had more than a few that made me retch though, and that was their one and only chance. :)

BB and GJ aren't "natural" (read extracted) tobaccos. Heck, according to Mr.Mann, they aren't tobacco at all. :)

I'm vaping GJ right now and dammit I taste tobacco! ;)

edit: oh and, 555 is pretty ick to me, but no offense to AVE, every 555 I've ever tried was pretty ick to me.

OK, 555 is off the list! I'm thinking about taking Havana Gold off too so that leaves four. Where is the 15-20% discount code? Or are they doing that at checkout? Anybody know? Or can I do both the sale AND code?

ETA: 15% done at checkout.........

So I'm waiting on BB and GJ to show up on Alien Visions site. I'm not sure if they are natural tobaccos but I'll post it here anyway to get opinions. I'm going 100% VG. So I got to thinking maybe I should try their other tobaccos. Which ones are favs around here out of this list:

Blend 4
555
Flue Cured
Havana Gold
C and D
Gamel

Anybody tried any of these? Thanks!

None of those are from tobacco but AVE has a good reputation. Maybe you can start a thread on it(?). I did once but it only lasted so long. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...scussion/303265-what-behind-bobas-bounty.html I was asking what else (tobaccos) was behind Boba's, or what else other than Boba's was a good tobacco from AVE. Check it out.

p.s. Clearly, I wrote that awhile ago. HAHA

p.s.2 As I read through that thread, there are some pretty good responses.

Remember the golden rule of vaping, RJ: One man's yuck is another man's yum (in other words, taste is subjective). 555 is a weird one, but I like it. Can't exactly explain why either.

But anyway, back to NET's...
