Wow, lots of reading here- took me awhile to catch up.
I ordered my first NET a few weeks back from HHV- legend and dragon's fire. I had been vaping a synthetic tobacco blend (grey matter, mister e liquid... Which is still very good btw) and had no idea what I was getting myself into with HHV. I followed some instructions from the HHV army regarding steeping and left caps and drippers off for 48 hours, but steeping after that was nonexistent. I loved legend straight away, and probably vaped between 4-5ml per day until my large bottle was gone (2-3ml is normally my max). I love the taste, which for me is a nice dark cherry, and the smell reminded me of an uncle who smoked a pipe and always had a big bag of cherry tobacco in his end table. I used to bury my face in the bag when he would pack a fresh one.... Took me back for sure.
Dragon's fire was a different story for me. I didn't like it at all. While it seemed a bit "brighter" on the tobacco note, the taste of honey and cocoa seemed to come out for me the most. I was good for a vape or two, but I always ended up putting it down and picking up legend. I gave it a few weeks to steep, shake, test, put away. The flavor profile didn't seem to change much for me and it was time to move on. I recently gifted the bottle to a fellow vaper interested in NET. She loved it and placed an order the next week.
Second order was legend, and I wanted a lighter tobacco so I went for shadow and heavenly army as well. Shadow was a no-go for me right off the bat, flavor was hard to describe but it wasn't bad so I capped and put away. Heavenly army was good- very distinct vanilla sweetness and what I can only describe as a heavy buttercream undertone. I had also read that the creamy tones tend to fall off over time, but that has not been my experience so far. A couple of days ago (2 weeks steeping), the creaminess was getting to be a bit much for me and I decided to break out shadow for another try. Very similar to heavenly army in the respect of being a lighter, sweeter vape, but the creaminess was less noticable and it had more of a bright grassy note that I enjoyed. I also found that the two mixed together @ 50/50 was a very good combo, both liquids showing their best flavors at the perfect time.
I am by no means a connoisseur of liquids in general, NET especially, but I feel like natural tobaccos have so much more to offer in terms of flavor and they have quickly become a favorite.

Not good. Wouldn't want to vape any of my cologne!

But I wouldn't mind using some of my vapes AS cologne.

No worries Nomo. I may have been more offended if I was able to puzzle out what your issue with me is or maybe had read the threads that got deleted. As it stood I was just confused, and a little hurt even though I didn't understand the insult.

If you still want to try more HHV liquids Id recommend Serendipity for sure and Dark Horse as well. It appears we have similar taste in HHV liquids.

Hello NETHunters. Been awhile since I've been on this thread. Hope everyone is doing well.
After several weeks of returning to my roots (Sweet Vapes) and trying to upgrade my equipment I finally return to NETs with several steeped selections from MyVapeJuice, Velvet Cloud Vapor and, of course, HHV. The MVJ are VG Vapes or 100% VG from thier standard listings, and VCV is an all VG Vendor. Since I've been leaning more towards REOS mods and CCV Cartos, I was wondering if anyone has experience using VG liquids with bottom-feeders and cartos ? As always, any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Erawk, you must be vaping very clean juices at very low wattage... ?? Out of my frustration with silica and mesh, I took your advice from several weeks ago and picked up some of the hemp wick you linked to on ebay. Boiled out all the bees wax, etc etc. I found it to get gunked up just as quick as silica does with these NETs. It doesn't seem to wick as fast, nor stand up to the heat that I like to run through my RBA's (9-10W) -- it breaks down and falls apart rather quickly if you don't baby it. It also imparts a taste, which isn't terrible, but is there nonetheless. Silica isn't perfect, and neither is hemp, but I have switched back to silica because I found it needed less babysitting. :2c:
Hey nick. I run about 10w-11w at about 2.7ohms, so Not sure. JDS's and wicks can be just as subjective as juice, i guess. I dont get any gumming up with my current hemp setup. I use a toothpick (sanded down a bit) 1.9mm to wrap my coils then i double up the hemp by twisting it so there aren't any gaps. I'm getting amazing results. I only smoke Nets and stick mainly to ahlusions. IME the silica i was using was breaking down more so than hemp. Aside from the fact that im getting amazing wicking, it's also cheap, natural, and isnt as fragile to me. But hey, to each their own.

So my bottle of Kuba Kuba came. It tastes like old man cologne.........

That was exactly my impression of some W2V Kuba Kuba that the lovely Scarfy was so nice to send me. She knew I wanted to try QnJ Kuba Kuba and included her W2V KK. Scarfy is a sweetheart! Anyhow, it reminded me of something I would smell on my Father's dresser when I was a kid growing up (a long time ago). Scarfy described it as Foresty I believe.

PopPop, I have been researching attys for bottom feeders lately and been getting a lot of help from the Army along with my own research. Avid Vapers markets their HH357 hybrid atty that many find preferable on their bottom feeder. Watch the video on their web page (I'll try to attach the link). He said he can customize your atty for whatever PG/VG blend you are using. Something you might be interested in. These are Cadillac attys (with a price to boot), but by all accounts they are very durable, accurate, and effective.

I'm currently vaping some 7-1/2 week old Patriot. Very good vape. I tried it after 3 weeks and it was OK but there was something offputting about the sweetness. That has disappeared and has settled into a very nice cigar vape. I'm just wondering if I have the "New and Improved" Patriot or the "Not as New and Not as Improved" version. My bottle was mixed on 2/1/13. Anyone know?

Jerms, or anyone else who has problems with a ego size RBA dripping juice, out the side hole. A band of silicone cut from a carto condom will stretch over it and works great for sealing off the hole inbetween uses. Not the prettiest thing in the world, but it keeps the juice in the right place.

Bronze, that would be the new & improved. It came out mid January.

Patriot does improve with an extended steep IMO. The flavors meld and the funk seems to settle a bit. Still funky, just smoother.

Erawk, the old ring from a carto condom has worked for many issues over the years lol, originally did it to tighted up the draw on my first KR8 and the 901. I set my VAMO down vertically so no leaking from my side-hole RBAs, but it's a good idea for pocket use.

The issue I'm having today is my second 30 gauge coil I made for my IGO-S, doubling over 3mm silica and 5 wraps of coil for 1.4 ohm. It's not nearly as responsive as the 1.1 coil at about 10-11 watts (doesn't heat up as quick). I want to hit it with more watts but my VAMO doesn't go above 11 without stacking batteries. It does work well, just need to take longer draws. I'm hoping I can get four wraps at 1.2 ohm so I can use it on my VAMO and should be responsive at 11 watts. I don't dare using my last 1100 mah Twist again with a below 1.2 ohm coil since the one I killed was still fairly new.

Thanks johni. I thought it was N & I but wasn't positive. And yes, I have found GeJ benefits greatly from long steep times. The flavor profile of GeJ flavors changes more than any other vendors I have tried. I've had unvapeable GeJ juice make my rotation over the course of a few months (e.g., Vita Bella).

Hmmm, put it a new battery and my coil is responsive at 11 watts and working better. The other one was only down to 3.8 volts so I'll either have to charge my batteries earlier doing 1.4 ohm on 30 gauge coil or stack 18350s. I thought the VAMO could deliver 11 watts with 3.8 volts remaining on a battery but guess not.

Anyways, NET thread. Breaking my new coil in while finishing Chai Latte then gonna break out W2V The "Blond" aka Blondie. The Cold-Infusion cigar I smoked was a lot better than Kuba Kuba and Blondie so I'm not expecting this juice to be as good W2V CI Cigar, but I shall see.

A lot of Patriot love going on! Nice. Bronze even changed his avatar in honor of it! I don't get cigar from Patriot at all, though. It's all pipe to me. At two weeks old here, I'm getting a lot of the cavendish and perique.

Doing a 50/50 of Apple Cured/Patriot right now, and it's making for a really nice blend. Much subtler on the Apple, really nice.

You noticed my new celebratory avatar for Patriot Nick. Very observant!

Yes, I get more cigar than pipe. I would not have said that after three weeks, but now that there is nearly two months of steep time, I definitely get cigar. After three weeks the cavendish was at the front. It has developed into a drier flavor that more resembles a cigar to me.

Since Patriot got some love today, thought I would add some for Acadian Gold. AG doesn't seem to make it into a lot of initial GeJ orders but for anyone looking for a smooth pipe tobacco it should. Milder than Patriot, this blend of Perique, Burley, and flue cured gold leaf is flavorful and very good. After testing many NETs in the last 3 months and trying to narrow the field down a bit, I have found I prefer tobacco flavored with.......tobacco! Perique and/or Latakia blends whether in your face or subtle additions add depth, flavor, complexity, and interest. While on the subtler side, AG fits nicely.

Thanks, johni. Acadian is Gold the only GeJ I haven't had. I think I avoided it from the get-go because of a semi-negative review I saw when I read through the thread (yes - I read all of it before posting!).

I think I'm ready for it now. Def gonna be in my next GeJ order.
