Ok.... It won't be long that I'm going to need to restock on some of the tasty juices I've come across recently... So it's also a good time to teach the palette a bit more.

I've yet to decide on what specific ones from GeJ I'll reorder ( they all are good for different moods that strike me ).... If Fire Cured is a good introduction to Lataka, I think a small bottle is in order so I can see how it tastes and can later recognize it on its own.

Which leads to a question... What e-juice ( if any ) would be a good example of Oriental then? Preferably something without Lataka in it so I can't get the two confused with each other.

What is up with you, nomo? You obviously have a problem with some of the folks on here, accusing them of being elitists and vape snobs. So why continue you middle school antics? You've had your say plenty of time and now your just wasting bandwidth. Do you get off pestering people or are you just an MT?

Please don't feed the trolls... just report them.

Hmmm...

As far as the intro to Oriental, I don't really know. FC is a must-try.

Oriental minus Latakia would pretty much leave just Turkish blends. The upcoming Sahara Blend sounds like it'll be a winner.

That is what I had thought I read before... but it was better to ask again to make certain. Perhaps tasting Lataka in FC will provide enough of a clue that I can discern the differences in say... W2V Paris or MOV Apache.

I've got a bit of a steep learning curve now since I hadn't taken the time earlier to know the differences in tobacco flavors... Paying for just saying this or that "tastes good" ( or not ) for 35+ years without finding out why.

I believe Wild Turkey is straight orientals.

Hmm... The description does say Turkish ( Orientals )... I like that one actually... Ok, that begs the question about the definition of "Orientals" then...

BTW... I'm not limiting my purchases ( when I do them ) to just GeJ.... but I would prefer a known good e-juice vendor so I don't get something that is just poorly mixed...

EDIT... ViperMizer already answered the question I see

Guy's.... just to say this out loud

That info has helped a lot at narrowing down Lataka as being the tobacco note that has me questioning W2V Paris and Smoke, MOV's Apache and Southern Gentleman... and I'll verify it using GeJ's Fire Cured. At this point, it appears I may not care for Lataka but I'm going to refrain from that decision and give myself a bit of time to get used to it... as well as let these -e-juices steep enough to make any differences for me.

Thanks to all of you for that...

I liked Nick's description...toasty and smoky. Fire-Cured will be in my GeJ shopping cart.

Thanks

Toasty and smoky really does describe it well. I consider FC a must-try for any GeJ fan. That's not saying much, since I could say that about all I've had from them, but FC really is unique in the line-up. I don't get any of the signature GeJ tobacco taste that the rest I've tried has, they really come out of left field with this one. The smokiness gives it a stronger tobacco impact than the rest, good or bad depending on the person. I'm vaping it now, I still like it but at several months it's not nearly as good to me as when fresh. You may like it better old, as it settles down and looses the oomph. If you like the oomph from fresh, vape it up because I think it only lasts about 6 weeks.

Speaking of loosing flavor, I've read with Smokin' Cherries from Ahl that the cherry starts to fade. Anyone know how long before that happens? Does the same thing happen with SGPeach? That would make me a sad panda.

I agree with all of this. I am going to buy more FC just to have it fresh, and my next order of SmC will be a 15 mL instead of a 30 mL. Due to Ahl using actual cherries along with the tobacco in extraction, the natural vibrancy of the flavor cannot hang on for extended periods. Those juices don't become nasty or anything, but that clean and fresh bite tapers after 3-4 weeks.

No idea on that, but switching it to a glass or PET plastic bottle should help.

If heat accelerates steeping, then it stands to reason that chilling would slow it down. Also, dividing into smaller containers would help maintain the levels of extracting agents. The extraction agents also ...... steeping but I'm not certain what Nick is using for extracting agents. I'm sure someone here knows.

PG maceration.

Straight pg maceration I think. Oxygen is my guess to the loss of flavor, and the soft plastic he uses allows air to flow in, hence glass or PET might be better.
