Vendor: Ahlusion
Flavor: Devil Dog!
Mix: 70/30 pg/vg 12mg Nic
Thoughts: The first words that came out of my mouth were, "wow, now THIS is tobacco!" No other e-liquids i've tried come close in capturing how tobacco really tastes. This tobacco tastes like how a BBQ smokehouse smells, IMO. It is VERY smokey, moderately spicy, slightly vegetal, slight dirt taste, dry, slight ashtray taste. I'm gonna be honest, I'm not very fond of this particular juice, mainly because of the large amounts of perique and latakia. HOWEVER, since i LOVE how it's pure unadulterated tobacco, I'm very excited to try the other aromatics because I have very high hopes for them, considering the others don't have perique or latakia in them.

What the hell is with the QNJ Kuba Kuba?! I need to take a break and flush out my mouth. Not a very appealing vape at all. :(

Haha! I totally agree. I have a funny story about that. So people keep saying that it smells like cologne. Well I own a plethora of colognes and I never understood that comment. Until....... I was leaving the bank a few weeks ago and this man probably in his late 60's wearing a flower print button down some linen pants and a straw hat (very Cuban look) walks by and I about fell over from the scent that trailed him. It hit me this dude smells like Kuba Kuba. I got a good laugh out of that one. No one clarified that it smells like "OLD" man cologne. I was really curious where these people were buying their cologne from.

Like The Blond and CI Cigar from W2V, it's made from a line of cigars from Drew Estate called ACID. They are very unique in the cigar world since they are infused with many different flavors and botanicals. They have to be kept seperate at a cigar shop because of how potent the flavors are. Definately a love it or hate it cigar.

I've had a Kuba Kuba cigar but not the juice. I didn't like it as much as Blondie and Cold-Ifusion Tea, but they are similar. So basically, be prepared when you try CI Cigar and Blond from W2V to get a similar experience as Kuba Kuba.

Hey Dusty,
Your reviews are terrific. I see you are vaping at high wattage with 8 V and low res atty. Could you add your thoughts on the throat hit these are delivering, if you have time?
Would really appreciate the info.
Thanks so much for what you've posted!
Great descriptions.

8W (Watts) not volts. I'm on a 1.7 ohm atty set at 3.7 volts. Not too high at all. I don't much care for crazy high TH. Prefer to let the flavour do the talking. :)

Sorry if I mis-lead you somewhere/somehow.

You are right about Blondie. Here's what I just updated my sheet with:

First thing that came to mind was a herbal tooth powder that I had used back in India. Then came the cigar flavour. Good, but this blond's not for me. 2 stars.

I don't remember the flavor of Kuba Kuba too well, but I seem to remember patchouli, which I guess could be called hippy cologne lol.

The 2 from W2V remind me a little of vaping potpourri, much like the cigars. Moreso with Blond than CI. I actually really like them both, CI being a little better to me, but only when I'm in the mood for something different. If someone says they hate them, I can totally see it. Dusty, give at least CI Cigar a chance to grow on you before totally dismissing it. It's just so odd that it takes a bit to get past how different the flavor is.

Definitely second this one. Loads of good information there... and it seems that your tastes are similar to mine. A lot of your scale ratings are right where mine are.

I haven't gotten my W2V, Ahlusion, or HHV yet... I was overall disappointed with GeJ and Alice in Vapeland... don't get me wrong - the quality of the juice was really good. The flavor just wasnt for me. I'll try them again in a few months and see if anything changes with them for me. I actually felt a bit bad after tasting the ones from GeJ since they are relatively highly recommended and none of them sat well with me.

I did give 4 a shot from Indigo Vapor - Duke, Uncle Cutty, Kick back, and Eureka (I still have more in the sampler but, I know I dont particularly like RY4 or 555 so, those are low on my list of things to taste... Oorah, Santa Sauce, and Calypso will be tomorrow but those sound sweeter still). I am going to re-taste the 4 in a couple of days when they have a chance to steep more and will post reviews.

It does look like I'll need to go check out House of Liquids. :)

Jerms,
I can definitely see this with all three of these juices. Mr. Mann felt the same way about Kuba Kuba. I could see how these aren't something to vape all day but rather to use effectively to fill that gap when the mood strikes. Kinda like TA does for me. I can appreciate that even though these aren't for me:)

Hey urby,

Maybe not to the extent that Dusty has gone, but could you do some type of comprehensive testing of all that you got? I don't even remember all that I sent to you, but it would be nice to be able to see what your thoughts are on what.

p.s. Thanks for being here.

I could try J but it's hard for me to review to the extent you veterans have. I can review the extraction notes from the vendors but it's hard for me to compare types of tobaccos as I never really took the time to think of what I was tasting and why. I just know what tastes pleasant to me. So if I do a little review don't jump on me guys (and gals)! Can't even use that sweet atty setup you gave me as I just made some major purchases so all my VV/VW mods are gone. Got my zen mini filled with Bella Valente right now but you all know what that tastes like. I can hit it hard and it will be way easier with the Baron when I receive (and my Provari, and my SVD...LOL).

Good to be here!

Definitely check out HOL. They are bloody expensive, but well worth the money. I know I will be ordering a batch from there for sure.

As for HHV, nothing I have tested on here is similar to juices from HHV. These juices are Tobacco..pure and simple. The flavours if any take a back seat. HHV is the opposite. Their tobacco takes the back seat while the flavours are.. drool worthy. I have a tank of Heavenly Army sitting here, and I had to force myself to put it down and get back to testing these juices. ;)

I think I'm done testing for tonight. ;)

Closing notes on CI Cigar: Definitely in the same league as Blondie, slightly bitter, slightly spicy TH, with an infusion of Tobacco. The coffee is more like a Turkish coffee than an Espresso. Could vape this occasionally. 3 stars.

Thats how I like it Dusty. Blondie is the best vape I have tried yet, hands down. Can't quite get into HHV as everything I have tried from them has a chocolate/mocha undertone even with long steep. Don't get me wrong, a little sweet like MVJ Black and Blue and Cherry Blend I think are decent. Guess I prefer fruit undertones to desert. Am I the only one that tastes this? Seen a lot of people saying HHV is very tobacco like.

Excellent, that's a glowing recommendation - Dark Horse, Huntsman, Dragon's Fire and Legend are are coming from HHV... I didn't go for Heavenly Army because the description called it creamy which I equate to cream/vanilla/butter ish flavorings (which may be a mistake) but sound close enough to a RY to turn me off of them... I may need to reconsider.

I have only been vaping for a few months and am still working through finding all the suppliers that I need to sample from - this thread has been a huge help. From all that i have sampled, I definitely tend to go toward the real tobacco flavors and those with a relatively strong tobacco base. There are some exceptions and, honestly, I'm willing to try anything but, for now, that's my focus.

Strangely, Halo's Prime and Indigo's Duke are very similar and not as much tobacco as nutty/roasted flavors but, those two are some of my favorites at the moment. I definitely expect tastes to change a bit as time goes on so, trying it now and not liking it means absolutely nothing... I just need more storage space :)

I'll pay attention to it when I get my HHV - the right fruit undertone can work but, I can't do desert flavors at all. Will be interesting to see how it pans out once I get them - I'll pay attention for the chocolate/mocha/etc. and will post once I get them and they steep a bit.

If somebody is saying HHV is very tobacco like, they've not tried the majority of the NET's out there, I can promise you that. HHV's Huntsman is probably the only one that I would say is close to a "very tobacco like" description. Everything else is just yummy goodness with a tobacco back-end.

You are correct with the Chocolate/Mocha undertones. I get that too with some of their juices. Heavenly army has a "cocoa" undertone to it, but is not the creamy that you are thinking it is. More like a smooth effect than anything else. Dragons Fire.. is closest to being an ADV for me. It's just that good!

Good to know I'm not losing my mind. CannedWolf, have you tried Halo Captain Jack yet? Mann sent me some and I vaped like 5ml in 2 hours. Very nice flavor and like all of the halo juice I have tried, they all seem very good right out of the bottle (no steep). Is Halo even considered a NET or just a really good synth?
