I'm into broadening my horizons. Out of the top tier vendors you mention, which juices do you rank the very highest?

I can't help a ton - most of my juices are still in varying degrees of steeping. That said, check out my blog pages - I use it to keep tabs on tasting notes. There may be something in there that appeals to you. However though, remember that these notes are first impressions only.

I can say that the initial impressions of HHV were very good.

So the other day we were talking about teabaccos, right? It has been about three weeks since I tried my Tastyvapor NETs and...darn if there wasn't a rich tea leaf note in there! Could that be the Oriental tobacco? It has no overt sweetness, just a bare hint from the burley, and the overall understatedness of the flavor makes it excellent for days when you don't want tobacco to kick you in the face.

I had previously thought this was good but not particularly distinguished and planned to use it in some future Frankenjuicing experiment. Well dog my cats, as our friend Bill is wont to say. I'm really impressed by this and when next it comes time to refill my AGA this might just be the pick.

I also have a neo-RY4 made using TVs build-your-own-juice feature. Equal parts caramel, vanilla cupcake, and tobacco. All I can say is that if that sounds delicious to you, you'll like it. I look forward to experimenting with more NET hybrids.

Just a month old. Got it with some Patriot and Bull Durham which I liked so much fresh I vaped it all in one day. It left me feeling " Light in the pants"

How old is your Vita Bella? It really matters!

So after vaping for a bit over a month and trying several different vendors I have come to two conclusions: Good liquids are worth a bit more money and NETs are awesome! I can barely even look at some of the cheap synthetic tobaccos I bought. The fruits I've tried so far are unimpressive. Sweet and bakery flavors are too cloying to me and I tire of them quick.

The HHV flavors I really liked were Huntsman, Legend, and Dark Horse. Pirate Booty and Shadow are good too, but those first three are really doing it for me. These liquids are light years better than the cheap tobaccos I tried. A totally different league. I even got some Boba's and Gorilla Juice, and while they do taste good, the NETs are still way better.

Today I ordered three from GeJ: Wild Turkey, Vita Bella, and Patriot. They shipped in 17 minutes! Wow! Really looking forward to trying these out. I see I may have to "forget" about Vita Bella for a while in the steep drawer.

I also went back to HHV to try a couple more flavors and reorder ones I really liked. I'm hoping I can get a decent steeping stock going so that I'm not blowing through liquid before it reaches its full potential.

Roots, I agree with you about fruits... they are not really my thing usually, but I make exceptions for Highbrow Vapor (Orange de Sangre, Limoncello) and Ahlusion (Mango Lassi, MI Cherry Tea, Zing!, Raspberry Sunset). Try them if you want to see what really, really excellent fruit flavors are like.

Seems like the majority of fruit liquids are nothing more than Lorann or another common flavoring, and that's it. God those are dull juices, and usually more like the candy version of a fruit. A fruit vape done right is awesome, though sadly a lot less common. The more accurate to real fruit the better to me, especially if it's layered to represent multiple notes of the fruit. Fruits are some of the most flavorful foods out there, go for a real green apple instead of a Jolly Rancher.

I shook up the juices sitting in my steep box today, and took a wiff of Highbrow Orange de Sangre. Holy OJ! Smells like I took the time to buy quality oranges and fresh squeezed them. We talk about Ahlusion's tobaccos a lot on this thread, but they are another rare vendor that really goes for authentic fruit flavor.

I really appreciate vendors that make their own unique flavorings. Ahlusion Wlad makes 80 percent of his own flavorings. I'm not sure what Highbrow Bryan's percentage is, but he also makes some unique and original juices. Speaking of which, I just got some Highbrow Exotic, Menthol Exotic, and Peach Thymbra in. For some reason I've been craving menthol tobaccos lately. A friend gave me 5ml of Peach Thymbra and I loved it immediately. Right now the smell of the new Highbrow tobaccos is extremely perfumy, but I'm sure that will settle down after at least a month of steeping.

I haven't vaped my Highbrow in forever. Will try it tonight.

BTW RPad, I just found out there's a Filipino restaurant in Canberra. What are some must-tries? I am perusing the menu and Tosilog looks damn tasty. I am a carnivore;)

Well, I'm too tired and its too late tonight but, I did get my GNJ order tonight and was able to run em through a tasting.

In the 'for what its worth' department, they definitely get a blue star of awesomeness - when they looked at my order, they noticed that the RY4 wasn't among the things ordered (which was intentional since I generally don't like RY4 too much - it's a bit sweet for me). However, they decided that it must have been a mistake on my part and included a sample of the RY4 with the order anyway along with a nice note on the packing slip explaining the little gift, steeping time, and a thank you note. That kind of thing really gets to me... even if I absolutely hated all their juices, I would buy from them again just because of that little gesture (good thing I liked a few then isn't it :) )

I'll write up my notes tomorrow after work.

Oh - I also got a little something from Mann - first, thank you. Second, is tasty. Third, thank you. Fourth, I'll write on it as well tomorrow.

Now... its time to study my eyelids for cracks...

I'm honestly a bad person to ask about Filipino food. If it wasn't cooked by my mother (who is actually Chinese) then chances are that I won't like it much. Ha! Lechon (roast pork), chicken adobo, and sinigang are pretty safe choices for carnivores. Filipino bbq is tasty too. I do love Filipino desserts though; halo halo, buko pandan, sago't gulaman. I actually have a few bottles of Filipino dessert e-liquids that I picked up over there in March.

It's embarrassing, but I actually have more experience with Thai food from living there for a year and traveling to different parts of the country.

I wasn't aware that CatskillMountain (from what I hear is a shady vendor) had a NET offering. I'll never try it, thanks to how Avid describes it here Catskill mountain vapor stores' Extracted tobacco, Finally tried it, again...... . It's only $15.50 for a 120ml, so ummm nice price.

I think I mentioned this on another thread, but Catskill's flavors and bottles are exactly the same as Tastyvapor's, and the descriptions on both sites are word-for-word identical. I don't know if CMVS is a wholesale client of TV or just a copykitty, but if you have concerns about them I'd probably order from TV who is above reproach.

Edited to add my TV tobacco is clear brown with no sediment or bits.

Ahh I remember reading about that now. Wonder why Avid's had visible sediment. Maybe the creepy looking CMVS guy adds trying to give it an authentic look lol. The CMVS adds the words "hickory smoke flavoring added" to the same TV description. I suppose if he's buying the 4oz doublers from TV and adding nic he's making a good profit, even at his low price.

Just got back from the Filipino place and I will be returning for sure. Tocino (cured pork), tapa (deeply flavored marinated beef), sinangag (garlicky rice, and not, as I briefly thought, a Jewish house of worship), and spicy chicken wings, washed down with calamansi juice (what an amazing flavor! I need an e-liquid of this, stat).
