Excellent review, Jerms. I want to try out a few from HHV and Goodejuice next week.

That was how I viewed Huntsman as well. Thanks for writing my review for me. LOL. Seriously though, good job!

That might have been the best description of Huntsman I've seen yet.

Thanks guys :)

Like I said Huntsman really did surprise me. My couple tastes before and for about the first hour last night it was really; meh it's good but nothing too special. Then I started focusing on the flavor and the tobacco notes really started to bloom, showing the layers of complexity in the tobacco. Like a song that has a simple arrangement of just a piano and vocals, maybe a little drum in the back, that has layers of beauty and brilliance that become appreciated more with repeated listenings. Huntsman was like the Nick Cave album, The Boatman's Call, for me that I went from being bored with it to suddenly "getting it" and filled with facination and adoration. Suddenly simplicity switches to layers of complexity inside a simple arrangement.

I really dig Huntman in about the same way I dig Smooth Criminal from Ahlusion. Both play a simple tune of medium-bodied, straight-forward tobacco that keeps it's wonders restrained to what notes a medium tobacco can play, but plays them flawlessly. Much more NETs get their complexity and/or intesity going for strong TOBACCO, or mild tobacco with other flavors, and I like those too but in a different way.

If you're not careful he'll ship it before you order it.

Could be a new sales strategy I suppose, know the client well enough to anticipate the order, maybe tack on an additional juice you're sure he or she will enjoy, send shipping notice with request for payment or COD.

Very sneaky but well played Nick, well played.

Wow - busy thread today, I had to descend back into the mists of time (about 1 hours worth of posts lol) hunt for the review. All I can say is YEAAAAA! told you so, told you so, neena neena oh...and Dusty is a dweeby:evil: Seriously it isn't all that terrifying. Devil Dog is terrifying - but only because in my case I am super sensitive to any tones of scotch (or I loved that description) Peaty flavor. Great review Jerms! Now I have to be fair and fess up that I - like Bronze I believe - still have a cigarette now and then during the day. If I vape Huntsman after a cigarette, Then... I get the maple flavor. I think - correct me if I'm wrong George, :D- that you detect the same?

Okay been vaping Huntsman from Heather's for several hours and I'm pretty surprised by it. Huntsman is described on the HHV site as "a medium bodied tobacco with woody, earthy tones", and I agree with that description.

It's dry compared to the Legend and Serendipity from HHV I've been vaping, though it does have a slight sweetness that feels like part of the tobacco leaf instead of a Cavendish that is cured with sweet flavors, like the other two. The sweetness reminds me of well-steeped Smooth Criminal in that I notice it when thinking about it, and it makes it more palatable, but it disappears so much into the backround that after a bit it's just pure, medium tobacco.

During a slow exhale the woody notes really come into play, with the earthiness and just a very slight leafy bite. Letting it crawl out of my mouth and nose provides a tobacco impact that moves it from medium to more of a full-bodied, stronger medium, and highlights the wood tones really showing off how complex they are. It's straight-forward tobacco, but holds so much complexity that even a straight tobacco can provide.

Huntsman wasn't as instantly likable to me as Legend. Instead it took a bit for what at first was an unremarkable but pleasant tobacco vape, into a highly complex and layered experience. Also to note, I've been vaping it for hours with absolutely zero loss in flavor which is what most juices do. Legend and especially Serendipity lose the other flavor notes as I become accustomed to them, so I switch flavors because the tobacco alone isn't as interesting as Huntman.

Legend I really like a lot, and it's more unique than this juice. Huntsman though I like more and also consider it a better juice overall. Easily my favorite HHV so far and even probably somewhere in my top 10 NETs.

Very interesting that you mention Huntsman and Smooth Criminal which flavor-wise are completely different, and yet! They are my Numbers 1 and 2 juices. Love them love them love them. I guess its a yin and yang thing - I swap these two all day long.

Thanks guys :)

I mentioned that I still smoke an occasional cig, not sure if Bronze mentioned it too. I didn't catch any maple, but a non-descript sweetness in about the same category. If I remember right you said the maple shows more after it steeps to a dark amber? Mines still a light-ish amber, so I may experience it if it lasts that long :D I may fill a 3ml to set aside in the steep box for later since I'll be grabbing for it often.

I only have the memory of Smooth Criminal to base it on, but I know I liked it for the same reasons as Huntsman. Different songs in the same genre. Even though they are still quite different, I can see how if someone likes one there's a good chance to love the other. I need to pick up a bottle of both soon since they are long steepers to reach their pinnacle.

Mmmmmm Huntsman is working for me again today. I switched to Legend last night and it was super sweet and tasty after the long session with the drier Huntman, and now back to Huntsman which has a strong tobacco impact after Legend. Wonder how well they would mix together?

Hula, what are your other HHV favorites? I think I need to follow your lead with HHV. Next order I'm getting Dark Horse and Pirates Booty for sure, and thinking about Heavenly Army, Sludge, and Heavenly tobacco.

No correction necessary - I'm afraid. :(

J, I have some (now) 206 day-old Huntsman here that I vape on very special occasions. It is an amber/orangish color. I still don't get maple (but I don't doubt Hula's interpretation) but the sweet most definitely changes as it ages. Don't ask me to describe it because I can't. Let's just say it goes from grassy to less grassy. But it is a really good vape at 206 days. But only one ml at a time. :)

Dark Horse is Diet Huntsman. Same stuff, just lighter. Pirate's Booty was once my all time favorite. But he's on to a new batch of extract since Xmas and it hasn't been the same. It has a grassy note to it now and if I'm gonna vape grassy it will be Huntsman. But give it a try..you may like it. It's not bad. HA and Sludge are also worth trying. HA is Shadow's first cousin...same creamy base. Heavenly Tobacco is not a NET, but many like it anyway.

Dark horse is a bit... um... sweeter (not candy sweet - its almost like a sweeter tobacco aftertaste on the exhale) and a bit more pepper than Huntsman but yea, they share some similar earthy notes - I can see how they could share a base. Though, mine are still steeping a bit and I expect them to change.

Hey Jerms, My other key HHV favorite is Serendipity which with light steeping is reminiscent of the old legendary Gandalf.

I got Serendipity today... will be doing some tasting tomorrow (along with a crapload of others).

Light steeping would make me happy... I'm running out of other juice options at the moment. Too many steeping and not enough ready >.<

Totally agreed on the sentiments about GeJ Nick. The dude is like The Flash. I had a last-minute change of heart about the nicotine level of my upcoming shipment and wanted to up the dosage. To my surprise, he had already mixed the bottles and packaged them -- it was definitely within an hour of ordering, probably closer to 30 minutes. He courteously said that he had no problem opening the packaging, adding the nicotine, and remixing the lot. That was super-cool of him.

Have you considered an ultrasonic cleaner? I keep flip-flopping on getting one. I know the principles are different, but in my head it's like trying to speed up the aging process of wine, which seems wrong in my head. Since I've been enjoying the Dripper Pro and Killer 705, I've been thinking that an ultrasonic cleaner would be a nice and easy way to clean the CE2 ceramic cups before popping in a new coil.
