I have little to no expertise but I'd assume that single variety tobaccos with a more complex flavor are produced by a blend of tobaccos from within that variety. Maybe BGB and Louisville are made from a blend of Burleys?Single leaf extractions vs. multi-leaf (blends) don't always mean one is going to be more complex necessarily because certain strands like burley or fire-cured can be very deep on their own (think Blue Grass Burley, Louisville, or Fire Cured). It really just depends. In the case of HHV, in several of their juices they use blends on top of a base comprised of a blend (good luck trying to DIY some of HHV tobaccos, LOL). That is why some of their juices can be wildly complex, but the downside to blends like that is your not going to be able to discern a specific tobacco; the upside is of course a very unique juice. Blue Grass Burley and Lousiville are burley, period; but I doubt anyone would call those a simple juice. It all depends.
I think a good extraction is always the key, irrespective of whether it is a blend or a single leaf.

I am going to look into this about varieties within a certain family. I am not certain, but it sure seems plausible.
I'd be curious as to what you discover. If you can will you share with the class, please?
Congrats to both of y'all for finding a NET that ya' dig. HA is definitely a great representation of HHV. But just wait until you dig in to PB and 'Dipity!
Once again, a knowledge bomb from The Mann!
Oh, and an official thanks for the suggestion of VCV's Blue Beard and Ahlusion's Gold Rising mixed 1:1. What a great vape.
We'll see. I am leaning more toward single family extraction more than just single leaf, but that is just a theory. w2v says Louisville is just "burley," but as johni points out, that could be more than one leaf but in the same family. GeJ does a few single-leaf extractions so I have some overdue convos with Nick and Wlad coming up.
I'm trying out some of VCV's Burley Beard that was given to me it is interesting....

I'd definitely like to hear what you find. I'm not very versed in Tobacco. So there may be different strains of each family?
It's usually a blend with smoking tobacco even if it's a single type (Burley Blend, Virginia Blend, Turkish Blend) There are even a wide variety of leaves with differing characteristics on different parts of the same tobacco plant. The exception would be those whole leaf places...then a large amount of extract could be made from a single leaf.
Yeah I'm gettin some kind of grassy tea taste out of Burley Beard....Blue beard I quess Blueberry tobacco??I've been impressed with all of VCV's tobaccos, fwiw. Burley Beard takes a second seat to Blue Beard, though. I've also had Mewlew modify White Beard: instead of custard, I requested vanilla. It's a totally different juice and I believe they're going to make it 'mainstream' and on the menu.

Regions, climates, casings. My head is spinning.
VM, you are always a wonderful addition tot the convo.

And... if I recall what I've read... even different parts of the same plant... ie top, middle or bottom leaves... have different aspects.
