Jerms, where do you get your German silica from?

The Germans do everything well don't they? Anything involving engineering or manufacture they excel in. I have German atomizers that are some of the best atomizers I've ever used. They aren't well know but they are right up their with Cisco attys.

Um... from Germany?

Or, if you prefer -

you find a mommy German silica and a daddy German silica that love each other VERY much...

:D :lol::lol::lol: I kid, I kid

There are a few places that call out where their silica is from but, I don't see it on a lot of sites.

This one, for example, does: Wick and Wire : Silica Wick

Surprisingly (at least to me), Amazon has a decent selection of silica, kanthal, and NR wire.

Not to jump in but Ekowool has been working great for me. I run my Igo-L at .8 ohms with 1.5mm Ekowool and I'm getting half the build-up of gunk, it seems to run cleaner for some reason and my coils last longer. I get mine from Stormy's.

I am going through my first order of ekowool right now and my experience has been similar though, I wanted to make sure it wasn't anecdotal... I figured it was possible that my coils were just better or something similar to explain less buildup. I still have more to go through before making a final call but, on first pass, I do like it.

Back on topic...I recently discovered NET and they have changed my life. Currently vaping W2V/Vapenstein Louisville Blend and goodejuice Patriot. I really like the Patriot and it definitely gives me the "smoking" feel I crave, but it is almost too...ashy. I ain't tossing it, I will use it all for sure, just on the fence about whether it will be a go-to for me moving forward. The Louisville is exquisite. A must have for any NET enthusiast, period. I have some W2V/Vapenstein London steeping right now and cannot wait, as well as some goodejuice Perique.

There is no going back for me now that I have samples the best NET out there.

I just finished making a ribbon kanthal coil. Takes 5 wraps for a .9 ohm coil but I'm not to sure about it. It takes a good 5-6 seconds to fully heat, so I'm going to put it on a mechanical first. My QuicNic order has steeped and I'm going to drip Granpa's, Kuba-Kuba, Proudest Monkey and right now I'm doing Fired in Georgia. Mmmnnnnn!

Also, I just saw a review where the reviewer was talking about 2mm steel rope from an chandler supply house. He swears it works but didn't give any particulars. Anyone familiar with this? From what I gather it's use as a wick ala ss mesh.

I have some Ekowool that should be arriving today. I didn't realize that 1.5mm was the only diameter that wasn't hollow. I'll have to order that in the next co-op...but after I go through to 10m of 2mm and 3mm that arrive. Ha!

For the last month or so, I've been using cheesecloth in my RDAs. The flavor is great and I find it easy to work with. The downside is that you can't dry burn, which can be problematic for heavy NETs. I'm looking forward to seeing if Ekowool gives me a better experience than run-of-the-mill silica.

Going through the e-liquid stash of our dearly departed luce, I immediately vaped a lot of Ahlusion Vurley (which has been gifted to thecatspajamas) and Yerba Mate. Now I'm trying some stuff that's new to me. First up is MVJ's Wicked Wench Tobacco Banging Butterscotch. My first impression was, "Wow, this is a poorly designed bottle." After that I was kind of disappointed in the tobacco flavor. After 2ml or so, I'm not getting anything like what's described on the MVJ site: "bold and brash" and "packs a mouthful of flavor on both the inhale and exhale." The tobacco flavor is medium at best and relatively nondescript. The same goes for the butterscotch. On the plus side, the flavors blend well together, but the overall experience is kind of flaccid. It's not a bad juice by any means, but I'm not getting the "bold and brash" flavor this e-liquid is supposed to deliver.

I'm going to try Rogue RY4 next. I'm hopeful that it'll make me happier than Wicked Wench Banging Butterscotch.

Try this thread for ss wire wicks.

I just wanted to say how appreciative I am to Luce for starting this thread, and to everyone who participates in it. I may have said it before, but I can't emphasize enough how grateful I am. Thanks to this thread, I found out about NETs, ordered Patriot Blend, and fell in love. As if that weren't enough, apart from all of the great recommendations from reading the thread, I have developed the habit of skimming this thread in a seperate window while shopping at a vendor's site so I know what to order. Seriously, so helpful. Keep up the awesome work, and thanks again!

Hopefully you stick around. I'm sure there are many more liquids you'll enjoy.

Oh I see. Well Scarf, all I can say is Nyah, nyah, na-na. Perhaps a nice baked-bean vape? No? Cod? Ah well, maybe next year. :D

Hehehehe. Thanks guys, much appreciated.

RSST full of Candied Cavendish helps a lot.

Bums. ;)

Pfft. :glare:
I need to add a few things to that thread of "things I have no desire to vape, ever": baked beans, cod...;)

Also bagels & lox, hot pretzels...Although a roasted chestnut flavor might be really nice.

I'm glad someone else feels the same way, I was very disappointed with MVJ's Banging Butterscotch, Maple Brown Sugar and the original My Hero Tobacco, nothing heroic about it, all are weak, imo ... non-descript and flaccid are two very good descriptions for these juices ... I also feel tricked by the descriptions and I'm on the verge of flushing away about 60 ml of juice ... I won't buy from MVJ again, once bitten twice shy
