My GGTS finally arrived after a long 3.5 week adventure from UK -> Vancouver, Canada -> California, USA
First impressions:
--------------------
Aside from my gripes with the finish, this is a very nice PV, the nicest I've owned yet. The weight really is just perfect. I was afraid it was going to feel too light, but it has just the right amount of weight to it to give it a nice, solid feel without feeling too heavy to hold.
Adjusting everything is super easy after reading all of the posts about the center poll, how to screw in the various parts, etc. Without all of those helpful posts, I might have been a little lost at first.. so I appreciate that.
Unfortunately, my Ultrafire 3000mah battery indeed doesn't fit. Not even close. So I'll have to order something smaller such as the AW battery. Tried very briefly to vape with 2x RCR123A batteries. Definitely a big NOPE. I have tried vaping at 6 volts before with a Chuck, so I knew what to expect.. or so I thought. I had only tried it with a carto before... that seemed to work ok, but not something I would continue to do. However, this time I used a 510 atty, ewwww disgusting!!! Burnt flavor almost immediately. So, I'll stick to the single batteries.
The button action is a little sloppy I must say. I find that somewhat disappointing. I was expecting a tighter, smoother/accurate action from the button. Not a super big deal, but nonetheless.. it does take a little from the overall experience. It would be nice if it wasn't so sloppy.
I took some pictures of Mr. #399, straight out of the envelope and tissue paper. I will be polishing this bad boy as much as possible, to try and get rid of all of the machining marks, sand paper marks, and various subtle flaws in the finish.
Anyway, here are a few pics I took of it from my view of the beach. You can see some of the marks, however I assure you it looks nicer in the photos than it does in person (perhaps everyone's arrives like this and just needs to be thoroughly polished.. hopefully that's the case).
