My GGTS finally arrived after a long 3.5 week adventure from UK -> Vancouver, Canada -> California, USA

First impressions:
--------------------
Aside from my gripes with the finish, this is a very nice PV, the nicest I've owned yet. The weight really is just perfect. I was afraid it was going to feel too light, but it has just the right amount of weight to it to give it a nice, solid feel without feeling too heavy to hold.

Adjusting everything is super easy after reading all of the posts about the center poll, how to screw in the various parts, etc. Without all of those helpful posts, I might have been a little lost at first.. so I appreciate that.

Unfortunately, my Ultrafire 3000mah battery indeed doesn't fit. Not even close. So I'll have to order something smaller such as the AW battery. Tried very briefly to vape with 2x RCR123A batteries. Definitely a big NOPE. I have tried vaping at 6 volts before with a Chuck, so I knew what to expect.. or so I thought. I had only tried it with a carto before... that seemed to work ok, but not something I would continue to do. However, this time I used a 510 atty, ewwww disgusting!!! Burnt flavor almost immediately. So, I'll stick to the single batteries.

The button action is a little sloppy I must say. I find that somewhat disappointing. I was expecting a tighter, smoother/accurate action from the button. Not a super big deal, but nonetheless.. it does take a little from the overall experience. It would be nice if it wasn't so sloppy.

I took some pictures of Mr. #399, straight out of the envelope and tissue paper. I will be polishing this bad boy as much as possible, to try and get rid of all of the machining marks, sand paper marks, and various subtle flaws in the finish.

Anyway, here are a few pics I took of it from my view of the beach. You can see some of the marks, however I assure you it looks nicer in the photos than it does in person (perhaps everyone's arrives like this and just needs to be thoroughly polished.. hopefully that's the case).

oh.. yeah, on that last pic... i took it as an afterthought after i had handled it again.

it's the rolling eyes smiley that confused me...

to clarify, i circled what are fingerprints.. and the scuff/scratches

Glad you finally got it natureboy. I know how it is waiting on those darn customs holds. It took about the same time for my Grant. Veeery nice pics. And yes you will be keeping that bad boy nice and clean. After I clean mine I have to wash my hands real good as to not get any finger prints on it for a while anyway. It looks so good I almost don't want to touch it.

Yep, customs can be a real 'female dog'. ;)

I'm wishing I had a grinding/polishing wheel. I don't think I'll be able to buff out the machining marks.. the sandpaper scratches I should be able to buff out though.

How did you guys get rid of all the marks the first time you received yours? I have a dremel tool, but the polishing wheels on those things are so tiny, I don't imagine it'll be of much use to me.

Maybe I'll bring this to a machine shop and have them polish it properly... *sigh*... this thing is costing me way more than I thought it would.... ah well..... it'll still be worth it. ;)

Mr. #399 is beautiful - almost as beautiful as #348
#348 also has the light scratch here and there as you say yours does. It looks like a good polishing is in order to remove all the scratches. At least I hope that will do the trick. I think I'd be scared of dropping it off that railing!!

lol, the wind was gusting pretty good too... I was a bit nervous putting it up there, but hey.. it's safe and sound now. :)

Hi my friend Nature

I will tell you some things about the production line and why I make some things so you will understand:

1) About 18650 batteries I cant do many things, China dont make all of them the same size as you already know.
2) GG has the lower resistance of all mods so it doesnt have the same vape as the other cigs. It makes the most of current that batteries produce so you have to be careful at high volts and use only HV atties.
3) Button has to be like this so it will never stuck by corrosion like other mods, so you will never get disapointed by a non smoking GG.
4) About marks. Maybe I missed some points to the GG when I polish them but you have to look very careful to see them. They are very small ones and they go off very easy with a little polish as you already did. I am not a factory but I do my very best as always

thanks a lot for your nice review Nature my friend:)

If you have machining marks then something is wrong with your unit Nature. I polish them very well so I think that its time to send it back to me? Exept you want to polish it to a wheel as you said. Cost is nothing, dont worry, maybe 5 dollars:)

That's very kind of you Imeo, I appreciate it.

However at this point I'm just going to let it go and be happy with what I received. Despite my complaints, it's still a very nice PV and I am happy with it. I realize now that because it's aluminum and not stainless steel, no matter how much polishing it gets, there will always be those very fine lines, swirl marks, etc.. depending on the direction of how it was polished. I can live with that.

The machining marks are quite subtle and aren't obvious unless I'm looking closely at the GG. I don't need to be that picky.

It's interesting you pointed out lower resistance, because even with a single RCR123A battery in there, it's vaping extremely well. Much, much better than my Tornado.

I'm going to use this GGTS proudly, and with joy.

Thanks boss! :)

SWEET!!!! Nice pics man! I see you keep the GGTS like me, nice and shinnnnyyyy!!! looks very crisp!

Also they just got in some magnets for the button action your having. Looks perfect and a must have for GG lovers like me hehe~

Just looked into those magnets... $19 shipped? For a few tiny magnets that probably cost than $0.20 each, nope.. I can't stomach that. $10 shipped would be a much more reasonable price. I'm simply amazed how you guys are ok paying so much for these 'upgrades'.

Hi,

Yes I also find them expensive, but I am sure there is a reason for it, with all the GG's and accessors I have received so far it was in my opinion never a rip off, it is all high quality stuff and either it is the material or the labor involved to make something. If I were you I would order them with something else you need because shipping cost is always an issue with "small" items.

I always explain my costs Nature my friend. Look how it is going for now. I ordered only 200 magnets to try them. It was the MOQ. That means that if my people want the best but quick too they know that they have to pay a bigger cost. As for how much they cost I will tell you that I make them in Greece, they are a special order and they were few so the cost is 10 times more than what you think. Every small magnet costs 2 euros, so 6 euros is the cost. If you add the shipping cost from Lisa to you (10 dollars I think ) then I dont earn anything (Lisa knows that) and Lisa earns about 4 euros.

As you see I dont make any money but I had to make because: It would be reasonable for me to earn something for my invention and something because I just found the button that will last for ever. To my opinion this button would had a cost at more that 40 euros for the customer and not 15 euros. Think how much PS sells his buttons and in what quality and how long it will last. Then you will see that 19 dollars is a funny price. The price has to raise up Nature my friend.:)

Hi Imeo, sounds like you need to find a new source for those magnets. I found some for $0.17 a piece. I've ordered from two different suppliers since I don't know the exact measurements of yours.

Knowing what these parts cost, I just can't push myself to pay $19 for them, mostly out of principle. I know everyones just trying to make a buck... but sometimes it's nice if you give a little too.

Anyway, if you really are paying that much for them, you need to find a new supplier. :)

New supplier would be in China friend. I dont bother myself with China any more after the last batch of atomizers I got from them. The less with China the better. I buy only atomizers from them. I prefere Europe for my jobs. And I dont really care if they sell 0,17. Even if China send them to me for free I will not take them because they will be crap and they will have wrong dimentions for sure :lol::lol:

If you dont want to pay 19 dollars that means that you dont want to pay to Lisa or to Rob 5 more euros that those magnets cost more than the ones you said. If you really think that an immortal button and my thoughts too dont worth 5 euros (I still dont earn anything from magnets), then........... its up to you buddy

Not everyone tries to make a buck. You are new here and you dont really know what I do for my people. For the record I have made 2 recalls to all GGs to put the new button on them and to fix an issue that other suppliers like nhaler never did even if they knew that their mod was dangerous. I also send to all GGTS a free update. I also made this update very easy for them by sending the new part completely assembled and with more parts than required.

I have send free stuff to more people than anyone else and I am here almost 24 hours a day to serve you. So I only give until now Nature. But I understand you because you are new here friend, no worries.

As for the cost of magnets, I made a big order now so the price will be at 0,6 each magnet but I have to make some money too (I repeat that I dont earn nothing now), so the cost will be increased more. I believe that it will be at 25 dollars maybe more.:)
