lol . the ever growing collection of flavors. sometimes I think they grow legs and leave for awhile and then come back and sometimes I think they make babies or multiply. I'll be looking for something and think when the heck did I order that?

I know omg. I have a couple 3ml bottles of duplicate flavors from when I sporadically ordering NF flavors from HDV over the past year or 2 (forgetting that I already had some.... or as you say, they've multiplied...yup...I'll go with that... I didn't order them more than once  did I?)

OK, keeping in mind that I haven't actually eaten real cotton candy since my last carnival or the state fair (been um, quite a few years)...

I found the bottle where I made (on 1/31/14) an 8 ml batch using only 8 drops (from the original dropper bottle from ECX) Initially, of course, I got nothing, but knowing that flavors develop just setting there on the shelf, I went on to other things....I used 18mg 100%VG nic base)

The initially clear liquid (now dark orange) does taste like cotton candy. It's sweet. Too sweet for me, as is. It's a creamy mouth feel, but that could be the VG? (or whatever other natural organic ingredients that NF uses.) I test using a direct dripping method which IMO brings out flavors very well. It's too sweet to vape for more than a few moments, for me.)

As a side-by-side, I just now whipped up a 2ml batch, using 12 mg nic VG base, and put 6 drops in (triple the strength of my original from 2 months ago.) Shake and vape. Right out of the gate, it's good. I could vape this for a while. Not too strong yet of course, as I just made it lol. I don't use hot water baths or other methods that people use to speed up the process.

My memory serves me well :)

Hi liblue...checked your link. That was a madvapes question and I've never used them and don't know what brand of flavors they use.

Yes, sediment can look like that. Some flavors, I'm starting to learn, have natural or whatever organic other ingredients (apparently proprietary information when you read the Natures Flavors website, they have 2 kinds of alcohol based flavors and organic ingredients without using sugar and gum acacia....but that doesn't mean there's no diacetyl or related diketones, I'm learning...lots of threads on those topics abound...)

Anyways, in the flavors I purchase for my DIY liquids, I've recently become aware of a particular problem with NF custard (and perhaps any other flavors that have custard notes). Cold temps or time and non-use can cause particulates to separate out and settle. Warm/hot water baths are supposed to re-incorporate the sediment or floaties and I'm told it's ok to use.

I know it was a bottle of MV juice...I finally got an answer from them about what brand they use......that is why I am on this thread(wink..wink)..
I too have made my own DIY with several brands of Cotton candy and came up with the same problem....not to mention there are 2 different kinds of cotton candy for sale there....I haven't purchased any yet...since the shipping is expensive....but I was planning on it soon....

It is ok to use......but it's a carto killer.....3 day at most...

ahhh, ah ha:) So Cotton Candy (I will deduce) like Custard and many others, has ingredients that settle lol.

I also mixed up a bottle of EM in a 20/80 pg/vg 11 mg.(with MV Nic & PG).... it also came out looking the same.....I will see if I can add a photo later today....it looks about the same as my MV bottle....since then(2013) all of the bottles I have ordered from them will do that after about 2 weeks even if I shake them daily...... I am not sure if they add EM or not to the cotton candy they sell....
If I do the warm bath it will just settle again in a few hours.....

It's frustrating. (Not sure if you have seen my other posts where I've mentioned my issues lately.)

The bottle of NF Custard flavor that I bought from ECX last week arrived with a lot of white tiny chunks. I emailed them and they emailed back and told me to do a bath and it got worse lol. I used very warm but not hot water and didn't do it for very long. The liquid did become whiter and thicker looking, but I gave up. It looks unappealing so I won't use it for vaping. I might try it in some sort of cooking experiment but not sure I want to ingest it either!

ECX says it's normal and it's ok to use, but, no one (Not NF, ECX or anyone re these NF flavors) -- not that I know of -- will relate it to inhalation of course. NF will not condone the use of flavorings for food use to be used in e-cigs. They say nothing except that they make flavors for food/beverage use.

I know our vaping suppliers are selling "food use" flavors to us e-cig users. It doesn't mean that they are safe or not safe, either way.

Well I must admit I haven't read all of the posts...but I saw enough to know what's going on....Sorry I don't know what to do either...I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone.......There is more to my problems...but I will not be writing them out here....I saw your post about the sediment and thought I would put my 2 cents in.....

I am just trying to find something that is not going to bother my system(as some flavors change my PH balance)...not strong scented...and preferably that I can make myself...I am tired of vendors "running out" of what I need when I need it......so far I only have 2 vendors for my ADV...one(VB) will not share the brand of flavor they use...the other is MV and it only had a shelf life of about 2 weeks before this happens....

I am sure it's not really anything useful to anyone else.....because it's like taste.....subjective & unique.......everyone is different and so all you can do is give ideas.....what works for me may not help you......there is so much info out there...but one must remember what you have learned so far in our own vaping trials.....and so many variables involved for every thing....The flavoring is only one of them....I have also been working on different nic types........
Well anyway you get the idea.....

Just had bunch flavours come in today , haven't tasted yet mixed few up but smell wise

Caramel cream - smells good more towards cream than caramel going mix with bit of salted caramel

Caramel corn - was excited for this but way more buttery than was expecting going mix with more caramel

Maple - delicious best maple smelled yet , mixed with caramel cream should be good

Banana nut bread - smells awesome , mixed with black walnut and AP should be pretty spot on from the smell

Butterscotch - dead on smell to the hard candy I use to love

Cake batter - not sure if I like this or don't , something is putting me off not sure what it is , almost like nutmeg or allspice can't figure it out but have smelled that smell million times baking and cooking lol ...... I'll figure it out eventually

Cool. I like reading people's thoughts:)

I just got a bunch in as well. Almost all of them had a very strong alcohol scent to the point where it made me a bit dizzy. Some I couldnt smell anything But alcohol. I ended up pooring them in plastic dishes with a wider area space to evaporate the alcohol. Should do the trick in 1-2 days.

Oh my, you must be really sensitive to the smell of alcohol if you got dizzy! Hope all goes well:)

So tried few them out

Caramel corn - good I like it best so far of popcorn flavours I've tried capellas being second to this .. But I did mix 8%caramel corn 6% salted caramel to get it right for my taste , plus few drops AP

Maple - didn't live up to my expectations at all don't even taste maple anymore lol , mixed up a maple ry4 so hopping the maple comes out more

Caramel cream - awesome will use this a lot when a milky creamy aramel is needed , mixed with little salted and it's awesome

Butterscotch - really really good I like it a lot more than flavor west and doesn't have that nasty smell FW does when it's exhaled , nt sure if anyone eer noticed that lol but I do ... Mixed 14% butterscotch 2% caramel cream amazing

Banana nut - awesome banana bread , I find it very similar to tpa but prefer NF .. Mixed with some black walnut , and dash Fa cookie and AP get the bread note come out more , it's close but not there yet ... I like my banana bread taste bready lol

Cake batter - delicious a lot flavours going on in this mix still haven't true it solo but I will , mixed 4% batter , 6% caramel cream , 6% HG vanilla and 6% maple , few drops AP ... Taste good but going let it steep little longer
