hey there,

my friend starts vaping, and he'd like something with a great vapour output without the hassle of dripping or rebuilding. So, I suggested him the nautilus and dna30 combo (clone or authentic since money doesnt seem to be a problem for him). Did is screw up? Whats the highest wattage he should use without burning up his coils? I know dna30 is overkill for that, but he'll have room to work with if he wants a dripper eventually.

I like the look of it better. It comes with clear and steel tanks. It is 22mm diameter which would match my mod and most mechanicals. Kanger is going to release .8 and 1 ohm dual coils which would make for a pretty respectable vape on a mech I would guess (and obviously on a vv\vw mod). Phil Busardo said in his review the flavor is very close to kayfun level.

I prefer the mega. better flavor and I can clean and dry burn the coils in five minutes. I have a DNA but the minimum is seven watts. sometimes I vape at less. I would suggest a blemish provari mini for 130. the provari has all the power I need. in the future I might use the higher power of the vapor shark but both are great little mods that are in stock and you can get them in less than a week

The Nautilus kicks out more vapor than the Aerotank Mega, but the Nautilus bulbous shape begs to be broken. That doesn't sound beginner friendly to me. I think the Aerotank is the best tank for a new vapor comfortable with that size. The Kayfun is the best second tank. I agree with other posters that an Innokin MVP is a better first PV than a DNA30.

I'm not sure why it would exactly be "better" although I will say for the most part I feel like a DNA is more geared to rebuildables. Buying a 250ish+ dollar pv that can do 8.3v\30 watts to run some 20ish dollar clearos seems a bit silly ;) Most clearos don't do that great at higher power. Something using the .8 and 1 ohm coils when they come out might.

Aerotank Mega and a Provari. Just my opinion.

I have a Nautilus and it works fine when I use it. But from what I hear the Kanger Aerotank Mega is a better tank overall. Better more adjustable airflow and from the looks of it a stronger design.
I don't own one because I am heavily invested in Kayfun lite + V2's. I don't see a need to spend anymore money on clearo's.

He doesn't need a DNA 30. It is overkill. With most any manufactured clearomizer, even if they offer low resistance heads, you will never get close to 30 watts of power and get a good vape.

I suppose what some of us are trying to suggest is that it's not all about power - especially when someone is finding their feet.

The DNA is great and he will definitely be able to use it for a long time with any future devices, that is the beauty of the DNA 30 is that you can put a 20 dollar clearo on it and it will still be great, but unlike something like the mvp 2, he will be able to move up to rbas without having to get a new device. As far as what wattage to run it on, i have never been able to run a stock coil from kanger or aspire higher than 12 watts. They just don't wick well enough to handle high power vaping.

But not everyone wants to use high voltage when they start. Let people find what they like. Getting a DNA30 to start with is a bit like buying a DSLR before you have even taken a photograph imho.

Well IMHO that isn't a good analogy. It's fine to buy a DSLR even if you have never taken a photo (Actually there are so many low cost DSLR's it would be a good investment if you wanted to get into photography).

But I do agree with the other part of your statement. Not only when they start, who says they will go to dripping and or Sub-Ohming at all.

I personally don't think I ever will. Thought about it and came to the conclusion it isn't for me. So for me a DNA 30 would be a waste of my money, even for a clone.

I think I was suggesting that it might be wise to take a few snaps with a friend's phone to see if photography is for you at all. But you're right - the analogy is a bit weak. :)
