Still seems to me like you smoked (yes smoked) some wicking material. A dry wick and a good dose of power would be horrendous on these BVC heads. Always give it a minute or five to let the juice fully saturate the wicks. That pretty much goes for any clearomizer. Sure you can prime it by dripping a few drops directly into the coil, but if you're not comfortable doing that just let it sit.

Well seeing as I didn't do that, does this mean that the coil is no good now? Cause I've tried all of these suggestions and it still tastes like .... haha. In fact, both of them do. I have people telling me to watch YouTube videos and learn how to recoil and all this crap but I'm not into vaping cause it's a hobby or lifestyle I want to dedicate time to, just wanted to quit smoking haha.

Oh no, just pitch that bad boy. If the wick material is scorched it will never get better. Ever smoke the filter of a cigarette? Kinda like that.

The same thing happened to me with the coils that came in the box. I found out that 1) They need time to wick 2) 100% VG is too thick. I put a replacement could in with a 50/50 mix of VG and PG and couldn't be happier! Also if your voltage is too low or your battery is running out of power, they will sputter you.

I'm using 70/30, I ernded up having to throw the replacement coil out after trying for a few hours off and on to get it tasting better, pretty sure I inhaled some nasty s%^t

Hey guys,
I have the same prob... We gave up smoking 4 weeks agp using the ciggalikes and decided to upgrade.
Bought two of Aspires new starter kits with the K1 tank on a Gpower batt. Took mine outta the box, filled it, sucked a few times with no power to get fluid into the wick and away I went . Friggin awesome!!!! But......................
Did the same to my wife's new one and it tastes like metal. People keep referring to a burnt taste but this doesn't taste burnt it tastes metallic. This is our very first step up to something more than the ciggalikes so I assumed I had not primed enough and burnt the new coil. Swapped it out for one of the extra coils included. This time I primed the coil by dripping half a dozen drops directly into the coil. Put back together and did a few draws without power. Fired it up and still tastes the same....Metallic.
I really aint sure whats going on here, My one is working fine but the wife's tastes like POISON!!!!
I don't really want to put another coil in just to have it ruined again. Anyone have any ideas what i'm doing wrong?? I am sure these have been primed on both occasions cause the taste really isn't burnt it is metal like.

All the gear is definatley genuine

The wicks in Nautilus heads are silica. I'm not sure about the blanket that wraps around the entire assembly and absorbs juice from the tank. A dry hit may burn the blanket wrap from its contact with the vertical coil.

I've only used one of my new BVC heads and it worked extremely well. I primed it heavily and let it sit for a few minutes before vaping it.

Was getting a slight burnt flavour off of my first coil on my nautilus mini, so decided to change it out with the second one that came in the box. Went to take my first hit off of it and inhaled what I can only describe as the worst toxic taste I've ever had in my mouth, not sure how to describe it but it's sort of metallic, I initially thought it was the battery but have since gone back to the old coil and it works fine. Any ideas?

I dont know why but i get that same thing with every new build no matter what I do buring the coil first and every time the first few hit taste like do do but about the 3rd hit it starts tasting great. Sometime just when I top off my dripper it even gets a funny taste for the first hit or too even after the build is long broke in

You may want to try starting off at a very low setting and bring it up slowly as the coil breaks in. What v/w are you using on the coil. I have been using them over a month and have had no issues. Each coil I use works flawlessly.

Hi Jake, I don't have VV, I'm using Apsires Gpower battery with thier K1 tank and a BVC in it. The battery is 4.2v. Like I said my one worked flawlessly straight out of the box. I did everything identically for the wifes one but it just tastes toxic. Can't work it out??

For those of you who are experiencing a sort of toxic or metallic taste in your Aspire tanks, please consider what I wrote earlier in this thread.

That toxic taste is very likely a bit of machine oil in the BVC head. Traces of machine oil more often exists in the Nautilus tank but in my experience it occasionally happens with the BVC heads as well.
As a result, I always wash the tank with water and dish soap before the first use, and now I also soak every new BVC head in vodka over night and rinse with water. Simply soaking it in water and dish soap and then a good rinse might also work.
In each case I recommend letting the head dry for a couple days.

I've not yet experienced the machine oil taste in Kanger tanks and coils but a friend of mine and me both did with the Nautilus tanks and coils.

No doubt you feel you shouldn't have to go through that in order to enjoy a vape, but once you get a good clean Nautilus tank and BVC head, you'll find they are hard to beat.
