i currently only use mech mods, and a nautilus mini with them. i dont have money to get anything else, and will not for a loooong while unfortunately.

so to improve my vape quality i want to rebuild the atomizer with 1 ohm premade coils (i have 3 to be exact, not alot of room for experimenting) and reduce the risk of a short.

i was thinking about adding an extra insulator on top of the wearing out existing one around the spring pushed 510 connector. any problems?

i just started vaping and dont really know much about it all so some guidance would be greatly appreciated

Having personally rebuilt many nautilus coils with varying degrees of success, the small form factor of these coils lends itself to a higher probability of shorting/failing if not built properly. I'd personally just order a cheap regulated 20w mod like an iStick for peace of mind. If that's not an option, I would NEVER rebuild one of these coils and mount it on a mechanical mod without first testing the resistance with an ohm reader of some kind. It's a surefire recipe for disaster if you don't. These coils can be very finicky to rebuild, and while you might think you've got a nicely rebuilt coil, it could literally be a ticking time bomb. IMHO rebuilding a coil that's not designed or intended to be rebuilt is a risky venture that should only be done once you have a lot more experience in building. Safety is the biggest concern here; you don't want to end up on the 6 o'clock news.
