Hi all, has anyone else had the misfortune to use Aspire Nautilus tanks? I have had nothing but problems with both the large tank and the mini...if they are not leaking from the bottom, juice is coming up the chimney, gathering under the tip, eventually going into into my mouth. Terrible!! I have changed coils, cleaned etc...
I have the large one for three weeks and the mini for the last week and a half.Any suggestions for a better tank? All suggestions appreciated!!

The Nautilus is one of the best tootle puffers with pre-fab coils you can get. It's a lil finicky though. When it floods, it's usually one of 2 things:
1)Bad seal on the coil head - the lil white rubber gasket on the bottom can be missing, misaligned, or damaged... or you can instal the coils improperly an get the same issue
2)Trying to puff too hard on it. The act of drawing on it is what pulls the juice into the coil. If you suck too hard, you can flood it out. Try opening the airflow a lil more and/or upping the wattage. My sweet spot was the 2nd largest air hole and around 17.5 watts for most juices.

I find it to be the perfect tank, the mini version, BVC 1.8ohm stock coils. Never leaks and I've dropped it, I cycle round all day with it jangling round in my jacket pocket.

Where did you buy if from? If it was from fasttech, even claiming to be genuine, you probably got a clone. Others will dissagree but it is my experience.

I use mine at 15 watts, so not too different from you. What VG/PG ratio liquids are you using?

I find with juice that is more PG, after a few draws it might get a tiny flooded but all you need to do is hold the fire pin for a few seconds while taking tiny draws to clear the reservoir and then it's good to go again, also removing the drip tip, from time to time you will see a lot of trapped vapour come out so good to do this.

Also have a primer puff before using, this means taking a draw without firing the button, so juice gets into the coil.

My sweet spot is largest air hole at 15W for 80PG/20VG liquids and around 18W for 50/50.

Careful you're not exhaling into it. Bad habit when I used to smoke cigars and I brought it over to my Nautilus Mini. It would cause it to flood, and I had to disassemble the entire thing and dry it out with paper-towels, and q-tips. If you let it sit for long periods of time (days usually) I found that it could flood when I came back to it.

Priming a new coil too much before filling the tank will cause it to flood from the start. I usually put 2 drops in each hole on the sides, then 1 (2 if it's thick liquid) right down the edge of the top.

Let us know if this helps! I have to agree with the majority here, it is the best standard ohm tank available right now for starters, and experienced alike. I still use mine regularly in my rotation :)

I have 4 of them (3 Minis and 1 full size) and no issues. Rock solid for me at 10-15w on the largest airflow setting.

Overfilling, misaligned coil and gasket issues are the only reasons mine have ever leaked. User errors all, but easy fixes.

My favorite MTL tanks by far.

A big problem I have with it is this...When refilling, after I tiurn it upside down, juice comes out of the mouth piece onto my hand, not a huge amount but definitely a noticeable amount. The outside of my istick also always has juice on it, but I can't see any leaking out!!! Its infuriating!!! I know the likelihood that I'm doing something wrong is high, just can't figure it out...

Occasionally twist a piece of paper towel / napkin and dry the condensation that accumulates in the center/air tube & drip tip.
When re filling, dry the center tube / drip tip as above before hand.
All methods of vaping takes some form of routine maintenance.

If you have actual juice leaking instead of normal condensation make sure the head is tight into the base, sometimes they loosen when removing the tank from base.

Could be you're inhaling too hard for the airflow setting drawing more juice into the head than can be vaporized, it builds up & has to go somewhere. Up through the center tube / drip tip or down into the airflow chamber which comes out the air hole in base.
May be time to replace the head, when the wicking material get scorched it severely limits it's absorption & wicking ability.

You are getting a little bit down the center hole. You have to be very careful not to even get a drop down the center hole as it will come out the drip tip/mouth piece.

That said, I used my nautilus for exactly 1 day before I got rid of it. I hated the coils, felt like vaping wet blankets or over-saturated Q-tips.

That proves there is no "one thing fits all" device for vapers. :)

This.

I wipe it out and punch the center with a pipe cleaner each time I refill it. And if it starts gurgling, I'll take it apart and wipe it down. I have it down to an art.

I have for mods that I keep going, each with a different flavors...two with Nautilus tanks and two with carto tanks.

I have the Nautilus full size and a nautilus mini---have had good luck with both of them-----mini has a tite draw that I don't like but it works well for mouth 2 lung hits

I draw into mouth first and then inhale into lungs Cigarette style......works best with the mini..........

In the case of flooding juice flowing into mouth piece problem---I turn airflow to biggest hole as too many strong puffs at smaller holes pulls too much juice into coil...

and then I turn mod upside down and take mouth piece out and twist a piece of paper towel and screw it into the opening and down into the tube about an inch

or so and then screw paper towel thru the mouth piece also and dry it out.

I then keep my mod upside down and re insert mouth piece and take a few puffs with mod upside down and this will help to dry out the coil as no more juice can get

into coil with mod upside down. This worked wel with the wicks being silica as they did not burn.

With the new cotton coils you have to be careful as not to starve the coil too much and burn the cotton while you are doing the upside down drying thing......

You should be able to take 4 or 5 puffs with out burning your wick.....and then turn mod rite side up and start to vape normally with large air hole..

Good Luck on your Nautilus once you get the airflow adjusted for your vaping style the Natilus is a very nice atomizer...........

Nope, I have had the good fortune of using the Aspire Nautilus and the only time it ever leaked was because I failed to tighten the coil properly

I've three of these and a Little Bird tells me I'm getting another for Christmas with yet another iStick 30w - could I suggest first check that the top assembly is screwed down properly - if it isn't you'll get a leak when filling/ after filing when you hold it top down.

I was a pipe smoker so I run mine full open for air, set the thing at 3.7 volts with a 1.8 ohm coil and it produces as much "smoke" as ever a Falcon or a Corncob did. Having been a pipe smoker, again I take long slow draws and the thing works (to me) miraculously.

I can honestly say mine has never gurgled or flooded, and again being honest it is to me "The Tank."

BTW a trick i found with other tanks that did flood - hold it up above the mouthpiece fire it for a second or two, vape in that position...and Bob will be your Avuncular relative!

I've got 3 minis that my brother is using, he just quit. And I've got like 5 big ones I think though I only use two at a time. And I don't know how you guys get them up to 15W+ though lol. Anything above 11 tastes like fried coil. If it's gurgling (they tend to do this when they get down to about the 3.5ml mark, turn that ....er upside down and fire it for a few seconds and problem solved. I've never had a mini gurgle on me though but I imagine that would work just as well with them.
And they leak for one of three reasons. The coil isn't tight enough. You over tightened when screwing it back together (when you do, stop at the first sign of resistance with maybe a 1/4 extra twist to make sure) or you dropped it and something isn't fitting together right anymore.
I also do two things when I'm refilling or just topping up too, when you unscrew it, juice gets into the air tube, you'll want to roll up a tissue or something and slide it through there and make sure there's none in the little bowl where the coil screws in. I also take the coil out and swab inside with a cotton swab. Sometimes juice builds up in there. But these are standard practices for me with any tank. But as long as you master these basic things, the nautilus is the damn near perfect tank.

It btw is always worth while disassembling and reassembling a new tank when you first get one.. I didn't with one of mine and when I came to change the coil found it was in very tight.

Popping it in the fridge for 20 minutes didn't help so I set about with it with small needle nosed pliers...and the thing flew out of my hand and connected with the floor - marble tiled Spanish floors and Pyrex glass do not go well together!

Doing the disassembly reassembly bit does save a trip to the vape shop the next day!
