Well it's definitely the ZAP versionLox picked up another in the classies for himself - and both caps are tight!
I've oxidized only once rolled - no problem. I even added the cotton - have you tried that Jake? Oxidize after the roll and take a cotton ball - thin it out til it's almost not there (like angel hair) and lightly roll the top half of the wick on it - takes hardly any (but no dry burning!) That way the coil and the wick don't really touch so no shorts there.
Never occurred to me that you only need to oxidize the top half of the wickbut it makes perfect sense.
I started on a pin the diameter of a paperclip - once rolled there I take it off and start rolling between my fingers. It gets you started!
The zap is beautiful...it would look awesome on top of my provari. And the only negative I've heard is that the top cap is/can be very loose.
I'm torn between the zap and an ac9....but the ac seems to be a ghost. I like the looks of the zap....probably would never leave thehouse...hmmmm
Should I be able to see any light through it when it's rolled tight? That sounds like a really dumb question...
The first bit I fold a little and give it a pinch to round it off. Then the rest is kinda like rolling a ciggie. Couldn't hurt to give a pinch here and there, to maintain integrity
I don't see any light (pinhole) after I'm done rolling. I would imagine a very tiny hole wouldn't hurt

What size of a chunk of wick did you start with??

Rolling a drummie and rolling a wick aren't the same..but when I roll a wick I pinch and roll as tight as I can.
I can assure you that you can't see light through my wick.
Who really knows ?????
I just realized today my wick is slammed to the bottom of my tank....still wicks.
