I have been dripping on a Volcano Inferno ego with a 1.5 ohm LR atty for two months. It's adequate for my needs but I'm fed up with leaking issues. My hands are always covered in juice, I've gotten nicotine in my eyes (that stings), and I'm wasting a lot of juice. I've tried changing the atty, drip tip, battery, it still leaks. I'm ready to count my losses, call this a nasty set-up and move on. Read a great deal here about the provari, the darwin, the Reo and they all look awesome. But I'm a little apprehensive about dumping more money into a new set-up, only two months into this.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a fixed (5.0 V or higher), or variable voltage unit that won't break the bank? I'm thinking $100 for a set up. Ideally I'd like to find one that is scaleable, by that I mean one that would use same batteries and charger that are in a Provari or Darwin. I'd also like to find one that doesn't require a specific brand of LR atty, another reason I'm not found of the inferno, you have to use their LR atty or it voids the warranty.

An lr atty won't work at 5volts and isn't really needed.
As for dripping issues. Have you tried cartomizers or any of the tank set ups? Much easier and less waste.
As for a 5 v mod under 100 check out Vaprlife. I have 6 of their mods and I love them. Look at the Turbo in particular. Great set up. Look on my profile page there's an album of one I got for my wife.

Why not try cartos? They seem to work for most folks and don't have the leaks associated with them that Atty's do. If it's an Ego then any 510 sized carto should work. And since almost all are higher resistance then 1.5 ohm they'll not hurt the battery. Many folks have had sucess with Smoktech 1.7 and Boge 2.0 ohm cartos. (as well as a few others)

I know you said aboutn$100 dollars but if the Reo looks good to you and you would like a simple durable mod I can assure you it is likely the cheapest one you can buy. Maybe not in initial output but when coupled with durability and longevity it is a huge savings. My reo mini which at the moment is my out and about mod has been dropped run over by a car dropped again (I don't know how many times) it has a few scuffs and dings but works like it is brand new that's what matters to me. So what I am trying to say is if I had to buy 5-6 or more cheap box mods I'd be way behind the little bit I've spent on my Reo. You will get the same out of a grand as well. The woods are tough in their way but maybe not as much as the metal ones. My wood Reo's stay at home.

Thanks, I'm looking at the Turbo now. The price point is certainly right and everything is included. Is it heavy? I assume a 510 connection would be preferable?
No I never tried carts, but I am going to. My inferno came with a "tank-o-mizer". I've purchased three new ones in 2 mos, and they don't last long. According to volcanos forums those tanks are plagued with troubles. The LR gives much better vapor production, but I'd be happy to give it up if I had a good cart with equal vapor.

Thank you, I'm going to grab some and compare. Much cheaper, wow how can you go wrong for $1.59.

I have a Silver Bullet, it is a fixed volt, 3.7 or 6 volt.

6 v at 3 ohms is hot so you have to watch the Carto's and make sure they are well primed.

PS - I will jump up to a nice VV and keep this unit as my back up as it is rock solid.

Thank you, I'm researching it. What atty do you use? What's your battery set-up?

Lots of folks having excellent results with cartos like the Smoktech 1.7 ohm xl and the Boge 2.0. After the initial filling, with a syringe, I just top off 3-4 different ones with my favorite flavors and I'm good to go all day. No need for tanks or mega cartos or dual coils unless you like them better.

I'm still looking and trying different stuff but these are hard to beat.

I went to an indulgence, uses the same ego connection. 3.7v, 6v or 7.4v depending on the batteries you use.

I love it! Was a nice, inexpensive upgrade.
