If you MUST have a cigalike, look into Smokeless Image and their Volt batteries. They sell blank cartomizers that you can self fill with e-liquid. They also have a couple lines of e-liquids to choose from now.

Should you feel like advancing up to a larger battery than the Volt, they offer the ego-size X2 and Volt Spinner (variable voltage) batteries. All of their gear is intercompatible, so no worries about what works with what. Excellent company; it's who I started vaping with. Having said that, I strongly recommend beginning with an ego-size battery. Instead of the 3 hour batteries of the Volts, an ego will give you 6 - 12 hours or more on one charge. Just a little bigger (cigar size) for more power and longer battery time. Ego is not a brand, but a class of battery. The better brands are Vision and Joytech, the rest are knockoffs.

welcome to ECF

Really it depends on what you want...
are you still looking for a looks like a cigarette? Or are you ready to step away from that and go into the real world of vaping?
IF you are read to get away for it must look and feel like a cigarette there are many things to consider

most will suggest a vv spinner or vv twist (great advice, but I think I found one better...not tested yet) and one evod and one vivi nova to see what type of tanks you like....

I have gone through the past year of lurking in this forum and what I have learned and tried to piece together to my best a good starter kit for cheap (if you don't mind buying from china...some are against it...don't mind generics and can wait about 2 weeks, no shipping or handling fees and accepts paypal)

typically I suggest one to purchase the battery from else where spending a bit of money to find one that is your personal style because vaping is all about your personal preference...however if you are looking for just something decent priced that works and don't care about color or style so much :

Some things to keep in mind:
Variable Voltage (vv) = Because different juice delivery systems taste different at different voltages as well as different juices...each person is different.

Passthrough battery to be able to vape while charging.

the higher the mAh the longer the battery life

top coil vs bottom coil tanks, to each their own...but go with glass or metal so that there's no worries about tank cracking juices.

From fasttech
$17.93 EGO-VV 1100mAh Rechargeable Variable Voltage E-Cigarette Battery with 0.7" LCD - silver at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
passthru battery, display shows battery life, puff counts, easily to set or change voltages

$9.56 KWX10 Protank E-Cigarette Atomizer (2.8mL) - gold / 2.5ohm / removable drip tip / adapter ring at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
glass bottom coil tank like an evod but glass

$6.94 Vivi Nova 7 Electronic Cigarette Round Mouth Atomizer (3.5mL) - 1.8
metal top coil tank, comes in other colors too

so for $35 you now have a nice first and hopefully only kit you will need for a long long time

I have another question though. Can I use any e-juice with this kit?

Yes you can. Some flavors are known to melt or crack those juice attachments which have polycarbonate plastic. The Kanger Protank is made of metal and pyrex glass, that Vivi Nova linked to looks to be metal, so they both should be immune to flavors like cinnamon or citrus flavors.

I need help bad my eGo-vv battery broke in I don't know how the weir is suppose to go back on all if the weirs came off so can some help with a pic or something

If the wires broke somehow on your ego, I highly recommend you ditch it and go get another one. No point in firing that thing on a badly wired bandaid job and keeping your fingers crossed it don't fail. I sure wouldn't want to try to Vape my face on it.

To fix a VV twist properly you really need to completely dismantle it, especially if you can't see where the wires came from.

You'll need to buy a replacement.

I've also heard but don't know for certain that the wiring is so thin that its difficult to fix from even someone good at it. I don't use egos anymore. It's the only batt that has gone thermal on me while vaping and bigger batts are safer. You get what you pay for. So now feel free to be mad at me for saying it. Lol. That's a recent decision of mine that I'm saying. Yes, they are nice to get people off cigs, but they need to move off ego style batts if they like vaping. Granted there are alot of knockoffs which is another problem, but even a genuine one is something to consider. The bigger your batt, the safer the mod. Study battery safety and what batts are rated and pick your mod based on that info.

Thanks for the advice but I think Shadav has given me the advice I needed to make my first purchase. For around $35 thats not a bad price for just starting. Any other kits I have seen run around the $50 plus. That is a little out of my price range for now.

I have another question though. Can I use any e-juice with this kit?

Beware..Fastech in Hong Kong has some serious shipping and customs issues and U may never get the batteries or any eliquid from there....I highly suggest U buy a $44 starter kit now from CT USA, right here and this kit... DV eGo-T Starter Kit - Stainless - 1100mah

and yes U must use eliquid with this kit..I recommend U buy the juice from here... Best E Cigarette | Buy Electronic Cigarettes | E Cig Juice - MT Baker Vapor

I checked out the website and decided not to go with fastech for that reason. I went with Apollo vapor instead. Got the Ego starter kit and ended up paying around $40 after entering a promo code and a referal code from a friend. Got the kit and could never be more pleased. Brings vaping to a whole new level for me. Only complaint is the juice I ordered with the kit cracked my tank. Now got a pro tank on the way. :)

It really depends on what your budget is and how often you smoke. I went from blu's (yuck) to a vamo v3. I gave the vamo to my son so that he could quit and bought an svd. To be honest, I miss the vamo. The svd with a carto tank is my current setup and I'm loving it. I go with a carto tank or a pyrex bcc tank (I have a pro tank v2 and a victory pyrex). I tried t3's, i30's and a couple of other clearos but they just didn't do it for me. I prefer the flavor of a carto tank or bcc tank hands down.
