a kr808d1 set up.cigalike like the v2.
you can get generic batteries and cartomizers or clearomizers.
an xl size battery and t3 style clearomizer is small, durable, and easily carried
in the inner pocket of any sno gear.
i still use original cartomizer with an aluminum drip tip and get a good vape(not great)
from it.its also my stealth set up.
regards
mike

I have to second the VTR. Mine was purchased because of the need for something tough for out and about. The one point that kept drawing me back over other "rugged" mods, was the protection of the tank. Having it beside the body, with a ring to help keep it from breaking the 510 connector was a huge draw for me. Lots of tough gear out there, but the weak point is always the connection. This solves that. I looked at few others with the tank inside the unit, but just didn't appeal to me. Probably partially attributed to my state of shinyitis at the time. No regrets though, it's heavy, it works right every time, and I get amazing battery life. The battery life though, is because I don't go many places away from my home, and that's the only time my VTR really gets used. When I first got it and was trying out my tanks on it I was getting about 12ml though before the battery needed to be charged using PT2's and Davide's. I flip between an SVD and a Vamo V5 at home.

Something that can take a crash?

Solid Mechanical Tube like a Nemesis or Provari for APV convenience Topped with a Kayfun Lite Plus with the Metal center Tank installed.
If using the Provari, get a top ring to increase Tank support.

Either configuration should be able to take a beating. :D

I was about to recommend this. detach the Kayfun from the battery when not in use.

This. It's the only thing I'd consider vaping in extreme conditions.

Their REO grands. Milled from a block of aluminum. 18650 battery. Onboard 6ml juice bottle.

If it don't survive, nothing would.

And it's all you need to carry. Unless your a freak that 6ml and an 18650 won't get ya by for 6-8 hours :)

Here's a vid too :)

Perhaps you need to actually see a Billet Box in person. Or even closely watch the video of it. There is no '510' connection as you think of it. Solid block, only parts outside the box is the drip tip (insets into a brass fitting) and the recessed firing button.

I stand corrected. Sorry, all that I have seen have the 510 on top of the box. Perhaps a link for the OP.

Umm - I have no horse in this race, and I suspect the REO is a great choice as well (if you don't mind using a RDA)

The neat (to me at least) thing about the Billet Box, is it uses plain cartos. Has a 6ml juice tank, uses two small batteries, is about the size of a deck of cards.

Everything is replaceable. So as long as you don't crush the box you're safe. I have bad hands, and drop stuff, and break glass tanks a lot. Mine is coming (YAY me) - in my mind this is a perfect PV.

Whatever you like and are happy with is great. The variety of options is huge, the key is finding what you like.

I use a microstick that I modified to fit a kick. It's very small (like the size of a matchbook), billet machined aluminum with a cerracoat type coating that's something like 65 HRC!
Has a big switch for gloved hands and better protection for the atty than the vtr.
I would, and do, take this mod anywhere.

How hard was it to modify it to take the kick. I've been looking at the microstick, but if I could put a kick in it I might just be sold.

You can use cartos, factory attys, RBAs - whatever on a REO.

The onboard 6ml juice is designed to feed it.

I personally wouldn't consider anything with electronics in it for anything but light duty, definitely would not expose it to moisture.

That's what puts the mech REO over the top. And it would be virtually impossible to crush the REO to where it doesn't vape.

The 510 is also pressed in and recessed. It will take a lot of punishment.

A REO grand is about the size of a business card and as deep as a pack of smokes :)

Just clearing that up, seems more for us than anyone else as the OP appears to have abandoned this thread :)
