I am trying to determine the resistance values for 510 atomizers. Several folks have reported problems with the 510 passthroughs while others have reported that they work fine.
I did a workaround on my passthrough and it is fine now. What bothers me is that some work and some are marginal. I think the wildcard is the atomizer resistance. Have measured the 3 I have and found a range of 28-115 ohms.(But not before I reworked the passthrough)
If you have an ohmmeter and could measure your atomizer resistance, we may be able to see how big a spread they really have. Might also see, from a quick measurement, how well they will work.
If you could measure and report it. We might see a trend.
Example:
#1- 85 ohms-- work well with passthrough--ok vapor on batt.
#2- 200 ohms --
don't work well with passthrough--vapor fair on batt.
#3--20 ohms---works fine--good vapor--new atomizer.
Would like to get resistance even if you don't have a passthrough.

Hmm, I have a meter but I am not sure what setting to use. I have from 200 to 2000k, even at the lowest I am getting only single digits from 3.2 to 6.5 on 6 of them.

Me too... my daily use, works perfectly with the manual battery, works like crap with the passthrough atomizer measures 2.6

Thanks for adding the link rsng...I actually watched that video on the meter.. a lot of it sounded like greek to me..I am hoping once I have the meter and I watch it again..It'll make more sense..I wish someone would make a video just showing hot to use it with your e-cig atty-batts..Now that would be nice...I saved that link to the thread so I can reread it in the morning to see if any new stuff has been added..

I am seeing a trend already...great.
First the meter question...Multimeters are either autoranging or they have to be set to the range, So, you will have to know what type you have. The resistance should be low..less than say 100 ohms. Some of these readings are lower than I expected---but that may be right. What I wish is some dealer with a supply of new ones could do some measurements.
Now where to measure--with meter in low ohms range, put one probe in the center hole of the atomizer and the other probe on the outside brass ring of the screw threads. You should read the resistance---it may wander around some so see if it will settle down after a few seconds.
Be sure to not use the ohms range on the battery---you will blow your meter fuse or worse-your meter..
I suspect that the resistance will go up as the atty. ages..Also, if you don't get any reading, the heater coil has opened--

Heck, I feel like I could be a supplier...I have around 75-100 new attys between all my PV stockpiles lol

Elfod >" Now where to measure--with meter in low ohms range, put one probe in the center hole of the atomizer"....
(don't you dare laugh lol)> the probe goes in the battery hole side or the atomizer/wic side?...

"Be sure to not use the ohms range on the battery---you will blow your meter fuse or worse-your meter.." > eeeck! yea, definitely would love a video..Until then I'll be hounding my electrician neighbor lol

There is more to an atomizer than just electrical resistance. I checked atomizers for circuit resistance.

#1 12.9 ohms little to no vapor.
#2 3.0 ohms some vapor but unsatisfactory performance.
#3 3.1 ohms some vapor but unsatisfactory performance.
#4 3.0 ohms high performance vapor.
#5 3.6 ohms high performance vapor.
