Ok so this is day 2 without an analog and I feel like I'm going nuts. I'm so anxiety ridden. Still vaping my 24 WTA and it's helping a lot but I'm still having a hard time. I smoked almost 2 packs a day, for 32 years and started vaping 6 months ago. Cut down to 6 per day and decided to quit this past weekend. Please tell me it gets better. I see a lot of people here making the transition with no issues, wish I was the same........

you can do it! your body is just detoxing out all the crap the stinkies had which includes traces of anti-depressants. When I switched I found I was very nervous at first. Once my body came down it was much much easier

This helps a lot thank you!!!! I just want/need to know it gets better. Thank you!

It gets better, for sure.

24mg is the top that you can get at a lot of places, but some sell 30 or 36. That might help you get over the hump. What are you currently using to vape with?

I'm using 24 but I do have some higher at home. Guess I'll bump it up until I feel better. Thanks for your help. :)

First off, congrats on giving up your analogs. Second, I encourage you to not use the term "stinky." :)

Everybody has a different experience. I personally have never tried a WTA because I know they contain tar. You have kept the BT chemicals in your body even as you have tried to taper down, so you should still expect those cravings for a couple days. If you can stay away from the analogs then your taste will change fairly quickly (1-2 weeks usually) and you will not at all enjoy the taste of your analogs. I encourage you to keep trying, and maybe look into some NETs as those seem like a good deal. I'm sure plenty of people are using WTA but, to me, I wouldn't want to keep putting tar in my lungs. Good luck and vape on!

I'm just using the WTA for about a month after I'm clean from the analogs. I didn't realize it had tar. Egads.
Thanks for the great advice!

Ok I'll just keep vaping. I can't vape at work, maybe that's why I'm having such a hard time this morning. Your advice and support is really helping. thank you!!

Just take it day by day man, I'm 3 weeks free now. After about the 4th day it was much easier for me. Cravings are gone now. Last week I went to a rock concert with an outside area. Every time I stepped out for "fresh air" it was like licking an ashtray & almost made me nauseous after a few hours. Just smelling them now is motivation enough to not start again.

WTA doesn't contain tar - WTA is e-liquid with a more representative spread of the alkaloids contained in tobacco smoke.

E-Cigarette Forum - DVap - Blogs

Tar is partially combusted organic matter, so I guess (I'm not a chemist) that if anything, NETs could produce *some* tar, insofar as they're full of a lot more gunk than the highly purified WTA. Even if that is the case, the amount would be basically insignificant.

I started off with Blu's and then on to an eGo battery set, then onto a Vamo3, then on to an SVD. Each time I upgraded my equipment I was able to reduce the ciggie count ( from 40 to 1 per day) over 6 months time. Eventually I will forego the 1 per day with the coffie in the morning routine... but I suppose some of us take a bit longer to quit the ciggies completely. Im just happy I dont do 2 pack a day anymore...

This is just like me. I've vaped for 6 months now and went from almost 40 to 6 per day. This past weekend, I decided to just stop. I couldn't get past that 6, so I just stopped completely. :)

Hang in there, my friend! I smoked a pack a day for 30 years, and decided in october last year to switch. The first 3-4 days was the worst for me. Nervous and felt like I didn't get enough air in my lungs. Then the problems disappeared :) When you feel that you must have an analog, just take a couple of deeeep breaths and vape instead. You can do this!

I see a lot of people here making the transition with no issues, wish I was the same........

I started Saturday..... 1/18/2014 & I was having the same issue. I thought everybody else picked up the Vape & dropped the smoke all in one go. I started a thread here, Sunday "I love smoking" I didn't want to quite, but new that I should.

In that thread I realized the mistake was mine. I assumed vaping allowed everyone else to quit cold turkey & that just wasn't the case. Many people continued to smoke cigarettes, but just like your experience, the amount of cigarettes they smoked was drastically reduced.

That said.... if you're feeling anxiety about it, something's wrong.

1. Nobody is saying you have to quit today. Going from 40 cigarettes a day to 6 cigarettes a day is a big freak'n deal & you should be patting yourself on the back, not kicking your .... about it.

2. Sounds like you need a vape... that should "handle" the anxiety.

As others mentioned, if you're on 24mg liquid, you're pretty much maxed out. The only thing to do from there, is to hit the pipe more (that don't sound right does it?).... or work on your technique. My first 48 hours I figured out that I wasn't getting as much nicotine out of my vapes. I was drawing the smoke into my mouth, then exhaling without drawing the vapor into my lungs. It wasn't at all like smoking a cigarette.

I couldn't inhale, because the vapor was too harsh on my throat. But I learned to breath the vapor into my nose after letting it escape my mouth....... let me tell you I felt every bit of that 24mg. Yesterday & today, I'm hitting the vapor like I smoked.... about 7 times a day & don't feel like a cigarette at all. It's been suggested that I lower the nicotine content of my vapor, but..... that doesn't make sense to me. I'm going to try it, but I assume I'll be hitting the pipe more than 7 times a day.

Any who..... congratulations on knocking a big fat dent into your smoking habit. Feel good about it, celebrate. Heck, have a cigarette.... then don't plan to have another one until Thursday about noon.

I switched to ecigs without planning it and gave up that day, the first week i felt like i was going nuts, clutched my ego like it was stuck to my hand, couldn't sleep properly, felt weird and 'trippy' and actually regretted giving up. The second week i started to feel great and didn't feel the need to be constantly chugging on vape, tried a cigarette and it was hot, acrid and disgusting, so stuck to vaping which i now really enjoy, am becoming more of a connoisseur with every passing day, and have a fun little hobby to boot.
Stick at it bro, it becomes easier and easier each week and it won't take long until you will never even want to smoke again.

HOw long were you cut down to 6 cigs per day? That makes a huge difference.
What brand/kind/strength of cigs were you smoking?

I mistakenly started out with high nic as newbie, I was miserable and anxious and turns out my nic was TOO HIGH.

So I never assume people need high or higher nic, sometimes it is actually the opposite. :)

I was finally able to "relax" and enjoy vaping when a veteran helped me realize I needed about 14mg instead of 18 or 24

Too much nic was making me anxious, restless, jumpy and on edge. I was not able to vape full time til I fixed that.

What is NET? I'm having a problem locating the forum "dictionary". lol
