Hi everyone I'm new to this forum and am interested in buying a good starter kit.
the features I'm looking for are a replaceable battery with a usb port for charging and something not too large:)
the ones that I'm kind of interested in so far in my search are the EVic mini, I stick 40 W and the Cloupor mini (although I've read about a lot of problems with the Cloupor)
If anybody has any suggestions I'd be ever so appreciative:))

Ash

If anybody has any other suggestions please let me know!

I have a Cloupor Mini+ that I won here on ECF.

It works just fine and is a good bang for the buck.

Time will tell how long it lasts, But for now its doing what it is supposed to do in a small package.

With the price being what it is, I don't see it as much of a gamble to buy one.

Eric
thanks Eric, i've been admiring the cloupor ever since i started researching, it's in the running! glad to hear you like it.
I have so many questions being a noob that its a bit intimidating, but I'm gonna find one eventually:)

btw, i like your avatar, i've family in France and it breaks my heart.

If you are good on money, a Provape Radius would be a good investment. It may be a little pricey and it won't go over 40 watts, but it is still looks like a very well made mod. That is going to be my 6 month celebration treat when I get there. I still haven't felt the need to vape at over 14 watts yet. But everyone is different. Your bigger issue will be finding e-juice that you will like. Don't be surprised if you find your self hating a flavor that you liked the day prior. I would advise not putting too much pressure to not smoke until you do find the juice that does it for you.

Thanks Needo, on your suggestion I looked up the Provape.
nice looking mod!!! a bit pricey but if it's durable perhaps worth the $$
thanks for the suggestion.
hopefully there'll be some good Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals to help me decide:)

I have a Cloupor mini. I waited until the time was right. (i.e. revisions/upgrades)

As with many mods, the first batch were hit and miss. I don't like it as much as the 30w iStick, but it's a more solid mod.

The trick (if there is one) is not to jump on the new products. I think this is particularly true of anything made by Joyetech. ALL of my Joyetech stuff is dead. Nothing else has gone down in the line of duty, apart from an iTasteVV and some Spinners.

Hi and Welcome! The Radius is a great device. I use it daily and am very happy with it. Wouldn't say it is a starter kit tho but that is just because of the price :D
if you have small hands it could be a bit too big. The cloupor mini is a good choice and I used it a lot for a few months. Then it started to fall apart. But since I paid only 35$ that was an OK deal imho.

Welcome @Ash Schwartz :)

I have a Cloupor Mini+ It's heavy for its size, but it's got a solid metal case with a great paint finish (IMO). I have no problems with how it works. It is TC, and currently supports Ni and Ti coils in addition to "standard" Kanthal. It does take replaceable batteries, but I would encourage you to charge them outside the device. You'd want to invest in a good charger like an Xtar or at least a Nitecore. I'd only charge inside the device in a pinch - just my preference, so take it for what it's worth :)

Picking a mod should go hand-in-hand with picking the topper(s) you'll use on it. So much of the quality of the vape comes from the topper, not what drives it. Do you want a tighter Mouth-to-Lung (MTL) draw, like smoking a cigarette or an open, airy draw to do "direct lung" hits? I have devices that can do 30, 50, and up to 70W. I honestly don't think I've hit 30W, and I get plenty of flavor and vapor because of what goes on top of the mod.

The following is the result of a 1.44ohm, 30g, parallel wire, single coil in a Velocity RDA running about 27W

Kloud is about 6 feet long by about 2 feet high. You don't have to go gigawatts if you don't want to....

DingerCPA, thanks so much for this! the more information I can get the easier my decision will be....hopefully:)
I'm hearing more and more people saying that they don't go way up in wattage to get a nice flavor/vape.
the search continues.....

papler, thanks! I'm quickly falling for the looks of the Radius despite the hefty price, I've heard nothing but good things about it.

I'm quite happy with mine. I bought it specifically for durability, size and battery life.
