If you want a closer fit of the tank to the APV body use a non-flanged carto. Smokteck makes both: flanged and non flanged. If the O-rings that fit between the carto and and tank are tight enough for your use you may not need a locking or flanged carto. Again, individual use and needs prevail here. Some need locking or flanged cartos and tanks. Some don't. Your use may vary. That's what makes it all good.

Try what works and what doesn't work for you. There is no carto-tank messiah, despite what you may read on these forums.

I use carto tanks almost exclusively and have tried most of them on the market, my two favorites are Phiniac and IBTanked. The Phiniac is a bit more rugged and I don't think you could break it if you tried and they also have the tightest fitting o-rings of any of the tanks that I have ever used. So there is almost zero chance of the tank sliding accidentally and spilling no matter what type of carto you use. They are expensive but you do get what you pay for.

IBTanked has some of the sleekest looking tanks and I honestly like the looks of them better than the Phiniac tanks but the o-rings are a lot looser and I have broken the glass portion of the tank.

Both company's have great customer service and personalization options. Just depends on what you are looking for. Both are great options.

I prefer single coil cartos I seem to have less problems with them and my battery lasts much longer than with a dual coil. Surevapes sells them in multi packs for a really good price.

Hope this helped and good luck finding the perfect set up for your road trip!

100% agree. LR single coil Boge with a IBTanked or Phiniac is my most commonly used setup...

+1 on the Smok Pyrex DCT - I've been using mine almost exclusively since I got it last week.

And

Although I haven't tried it yet, I ordered the Ravens Nest from gotvapes

Looks nice and for the price I couldn't pass on it.

I'll probably post a follow up in a few days once I have it but for the price and style I really dont think you can beat it.

Boge vs Smoktech cartos doesn't mean a crap. The construction of either is different. For one, the filler material density and coil envelope is different for each. Fanboys will tell you one is better than the other. Ignore them. Try several of each and decide which works best for yourself. I'm out on this. Jeeze people, grow up.
