Hello, I have been researching e-cigs all day. It started with my wife seeing a commercial for the blu cig ( thank god we didn't get it from what i have read) we then learned about e-cig the safe cig then the other commercial ones that charge a arm and a leg for nothing. then i ran into a few forums like this one and decided to join this one. So here I am. Now from looking at reviews i have narrowed my choices to one of these 3. the 510, side sho or 902 unless someone can tell me a reason for a different one please let me know a good reason to go with a different one if not what one of these would be the better one, thanks for your help. and what is a good vender to go threw i see nothing but great stuff about MV thanks again.

Id have to second Mom on that, I only found about about these things last thursday, spent friday and the w/e researching, and my conclusion was that these days with some progress into the development of the product, the EGO comes out on top, I read so many trial and error stories with other units, anyway this is my first day of vaping and all I can say is that the EGO delivers. The friend who introduced me to them has an inferior model of some sort, Im not sure, it works, and it sold me on the idea, but from all reviews the ego is gonna last you a long time with less headache. It gives great vape.
I also bought a BillyBoy Shotgun Mod (google it, its the shiz) for sh!ts and giggles, a 6V version with double barrel atty's

Been using the 510 for my first few days of vaping and its treated me well. I have 2 Blu kits here and can confirm that although its a decent device, the 510 blows it away in every aspect. Currently awaiting my order for a Joye Ego so that I can give this to the wife, and not have to swap batteries so much.

Whatever you choose remember that the device isn't the only variable. You might not like the juice you get with the starter kit, so don't give up just order a different one. You might also want to get different strengths of juice in case high nicotine is too much for you. I also ordered extra blank carts to fill, which turned out to be a really good choice. From one rookie to another, welcome to the family.

thanks for the welcome. well I'd like it to look like a cig, i am a pretty avid smoker love everything about smoking but the cancer and killing me factors. I want to drip and would like something closes to tobacco as possible, i currently roll my own and use golden harvest all natural tobacco not flavored. I like the 510 but it seems to resemble a pen a from the pictures i have seen. the EGO is a little too far from a cig for my taste. Also what would be a good e liquid to get me closes to the real thing ? thanks for all the help. me and my wife will be switching so its going to be a nice little dime dropped so i would like to have a good start.

Just got my ego yesterday!! I started with a DSE 901 which was good don't get me wrong...it had me off ciggies entirely in the first 2 hrs. But it is NOTHING compared to the ego...I even think juice that I hadnt thought was that good on my 901 is MUCH better with my ego. Better throat hit...better vapor production....just better. But if looking like a cig is important to u I'd go with the 510 over the 902. It just seems like more stuff is compatible with the 510 than the 901 or 902 don't know if anyone else agrees this is just what I think. I wish I'd gotten the 510 first instead

I started with the SideSho, great service and ecig from Modern Vapors. be sure to get the kits with 2 batteries. Next I got the 902, it too is a great e-cig. Both fill the need and mine have been working over 60 days with no problems. The carts are easy to fill and last me any where from 1/2 to 1 hour of heavy usage. If you are near a computer alot, be sure to get a usb passthru, saves a lot of battery charging.

Now the bad part, if I didn't have a passthru, I would be always charging batteries. Like all the smaller kits and depending on usage, a battery will only last 1 1/2 hours to 2hours before needing charging. A battery for me normally takes a little over an hour to recharge. AND you can't VAP without a battery or passthru...

We bought 501 batteries, blank boge cartomizers and juice and are very happy. Buy at least 2-3 bats each person. I would suggest at least 1 XL of those 3 and try auto versus manual before deciding on the final set. Have not tried an atomizer yet with this, just cartos and it's a nice and easy to use set up. I did buy some prefilled cartos of RY4 and I will refill those with the same juice when they empty. I have yet to throw a carto away due to failure and have refilled some at least 6 times!

I started with the KR808 automatics... loved them. Got some for the wife at the same time. Since then I've moved onto the Black Silver Bullet and the Omega. Bought both of them used, love them both. I'm actually torn between the two, now. The Silver Bullet (and black version) has a nice recessed button so it's easy to pocket it. The Omega has a certain classiness to it, and a very unique switch, but is not very pocket friendly (tends to go off in your pocket if you sit or squat). So there are great mods, each with their own unique quirks. Many swear by the Chuck, also. I've never tried it as it doesn't appeal to me. The eGo and mega eGo are very popular. The 510 is such a popular standard, many of the modified PV units are made with its threading.

Whatever you get, use it to its fullest potential... to get off tobacco cigarettes.

Hello.

One consideration should be "how many analogs do you smoke a day?" I am a 2 and a half packs a day guy. I bought a 510 plus an extra battery. I had to have one battery charging at all times and still had periods when I had no battery ready to go. So I'm awaiting arrival of Riva version of the eGO - which has 750 mah bat instead of 650, plus the standard and cartomizer version of the new "XPower" 900. It is made by orginal e-ci manufacturer and along with looking great - better than eGO, it's supposed to work better as well.

My first purchase was a Magna 510 and my second was a Joye 510. I have been pleased with both. The Magna has (supposedly) a better atomizer and a slightly bigger cartridge. The reason I and bought a Joye is because the Magna is unique to Volcanoecigs and I cannot seem to get atomizers or cartridges from any other supplier. If they are out of supplies I am screwed. Hence buying a Joye. The both use the 510 batteries. They are slightly bigger than an analog, but not so much so that people really notice.

Whatever you decide, you need either a pass through or a second battery for each person. If you start with an atomizer you may also want to get a couple of extras because if they die you can't vape. I personally perfer the cartomizer, but I have heard many people say that they don't like them as they get a burnt taste. Atomizers and cartridges are cheaper in the long run, but the cartomizer is great for convenience.

There are numerous suppliers out there for flavors or prefilled cartridges. The right tobacco blend for you may be trial and error. Most try to compare to popular tobacco blends, but everyone has their own opinion on that. For me personally, I quickly went from tobacco to flavors and I am trying sample sizes from numerous companies so I can see what I like and don't like. It is important to remember that your tastes will most likely change as you don't smoke, so if you get a tobacco you don't like save it. You may like it in a month!

I am glad you have made the decision to vape. This forum can help you find many answers and suppliers often run specials exclusively to forum members. If your first vaping experience is not what you wanted don't give up. Post your problems and someone here will probably have a suggestion to make it better.

It sounds like you have a pretty good handle on things, and no e-cig is going to feel/look "exactly" like an analog, though the 510 and KR808-D1 are the two models that come closest.

As for the question of what tobacco flavor is closest to the taste of a real cig, I have to say that Vapor 4 Life's Parliament flavor (which I got as a freebie with my last order there) is the closest I've tasted. You may also wish to try any number of different suppliers' 555 flavor. It has a bit of a "nutty" flavor and a lot of people seem to like it. On the sweeter side, the tobacco flavor RY4 (again, sold about everywhere) tastes more like pipe tobacco smells -- good tobacco flavor primarily, but with some sweeter undertones.

Also, as you get your tastebuds back, your preferences will change. Don't be afraid to experiment!

Hello, what is the difference between 501 and 901? Is the 901 the mini cigarette?

The 510 has the best vapor, some will argue that the 901/2 has better taste.

But really- skip the ones that look like cigarettes, and go with an eGo or eGo clone. Get an adapter, and you can use 510 atomizers (natively), 901 atomizers, or almost any of the popular ones.

If you decided on the 510- you could opt for the 510 mega battery. But the standard batteries just don't have enough life to keep it convenient- but are handy for driving and discretion..
