OK your batts must not be charged for some reason ! this is the only other thing I can come up with , put them back in the charger and see if they go red , roll them in the charger to make sure they are seated right.

I have 3 sets of batteries Cartos work fine. It like it is not making an connection, then shorts out for some reason? batteries are fine.
