Sadly, if it got to the chips/board inside, you may have lost it.
First thing to ask... did you take the battery out right away?
Electronics when they get wet, the real damage is not the water itself, but the electricity that ends up shorting things out. You could drop a device in water, and as long as no power goes through it, if you dry it right away, it can be just fine.
BUT... that said... regrettably, e-liquid is not water, and really can get into the circuits and parts and be extremely hard to clean off. It is not water, so it will not evaporate, it will stay there and never really dry up.
My wife did similar (flooded her tank so badly that liquid got inside everywhere) and even with proper cleaning techniques and actual circuit cleaner, I wasn't able to save it and it eventually died.
The best you can do is try to take the mod apart and clean it as much as possible with cotton swabs or anything to get as much of it off as possible. You can try with various cleaning solution such as circuit cleaning fluid, or alcohol, etc. use a airgun/can of compressed air, etc. to try to get as much off of it, but if it got inside the circuits and such, sadly, the odds aren't good.
I tend to always have some paper tissues or such handy when I refill as it can simply happen to have a leak or such, so to catch it before it gets bad on the mod.
