Paps Voltage drop solved.
I was only getting 3.2v under load with a freshly charged (4.2v) IMR.
This loss was finally tracked to the puny hotspring.
I inserted some Brass bar from my local hobby shop into a battery drill and spun it up to machine it to fit into the spring sleeve in the Paps. I use a file for the first stage and then with 250grit sandpaper then 1200grit to finish before polishing.
The 18350and 18500 batteries required slightly different length posts, so I made one for each.
I used a very short cut section (about two turns ) of the original hotspring to create some give/spring when tightening the endcaps of the Paps.
I am aware of the risk of not having a hotsping in line and only run this with genesis setup the are rock solid, and only ever with IMR safe chemistry batteries, I still reinstall an original hotspring when setting up new coils and if I am in ANY doubt of the stability of my setup then again, I use the standard hotspring.
Result: I now get 3.85-3.9v under load with a 0.7 Ohm coil.
I am happy, but ever vigilant due to the lack of the safety the hotsping provided.

Very clever!

what is the height and diameter of the braes tube yub

the tube is stainless steel...the positive post and the button are brass... I'm not familiar with the size, you can inquire about it at Atmomixani's website, now they sale the brass positive post but you will have to contact them for anything else.

Im thinking of a more desirable upgrade for one of my gus mods to complete the modifications more to my liking..The brass post and the custom v2 brass button Gus tele switch was a step in the right direction..Personally, I rather get rid of the spring altogether....This is one upgrade that I came up with that works well, but I'm looking for somthing a lil more adjustible.

This actually screws into the the brass post instead of the spring ..it also holds the battery flush without any play because of its flat surface ....studiovapes setup gave me the idea. I will keep you guys posted with any future upgrades.

On the Gus tele the final modification is a floating positive pole that I installed on the cap to enhance the 2 points of contact to improve the current and reduce power lost...

No I didn't make the positive pole..I just liked it so much that I installed the pole on my Gus mod to match the V2 switch that GUS customize to brass for me...you can search for the brass pole you need on the EA'S mod website and contact them for the top cap insulator..here's the link and hope you enjoy.

Badinfluence357 i contacted katerina and she said they dont make the brass switch anymore...i dint know why but it sucks lol. Btw if i buy just the brass pole from ea you think it will fit the insulator thats akready connected on my gus? I just need to know if its big enough so i can just sand it down and not buy the insulator from them anymore...

Correct it is the black top cap insulator.... just contact Mika and make sure you can add one to your purchase.... it may need alil sanding down to match the one on your top cap but its worth it..good luck!

Hey man, none of your pictures work (at least for me) so I can't tell exactly what you did to fix the switch? Mine is aweful, I can't even hardly get it to fire at all anymore more than a few wisps. I'm going to go and buy a brass screw to replace the crappy one from the 510 connector. From what you said, this alone should greatly help but I still want to get a new button. Since it seems for some crazy reason they no longer make a button, how can I mod mine so that this thing actually works? Is there a way I can mod the button itself to make it brass?

BTW, I am very displeased with the GUS Telescope, now that I finally got the parts and all to rebuild my Penelope and got my new Kayfun running. Why on earth would somebody, especially a modder as well known as Gus, put a product out there that flat out doesn't work. I don't know about you guys, but after spending the last few days fiddling with this thing, no matter WHAT I do, it simply does not work. The conductivity is just lousy, it barely fires at all, just whisps. I was super excited for this thing, and finally got all the stuff I needed to get my Penelope running, and then once I did, it just sucked. At first I thought I screwed up the Penelope since it's been like 2 months since I last wicked and coiled it, but I redid it, knowing it was flawless this time, and it was still aweful. After trying different stuff on it, I finally realized it was the GUS itself. I'm very disappointed in this, but I hope a brass center pin will at least get it running properly, even if it works well and not necessarily like a Caravela, P+, etc. I will be happy, but I'd still like to fix the button as well if possible.
