All you have to do now is remove the black insulator you don't need it...it will be just like the chi you switch with no insulator..it will shorten the throw and make better contact. Also if you need the floting brass top cap post and insulator I have a spare one I can sell you.

The insulator and positive pole on the right !!! Not the switch assembly on the left.

how much would you want for the floating center post? also, is the switch for sale? I think this is my biggest issue because I have the telescoping brass post from vapourart already, I'm thinking the switch is where the voltage drop is, I'm still seeing about .4v-.6v drop after removing the insulator and putting in the new center post. before I put in the new center post I was seeing .9v-1v drop

So sorry for the rant but it piss me off to hear someone tell me that I was selling something I paid an arm and a leg to get, too expensive. You don't have to buy it if you don't like the price..I'm not giving it away and it wasn't a gift!!!..lol
I want him to understand that when we want to better our mods we have to pay for the parts to do so!
I didn't like the price either, but I love my mods performance now!! See what I mean?

With that said I'm not selling the parts anylonger because of the idiot!!!

Mind you I have a chi you and I like this better! Not as heavy and alot smaller, don't have to fiddle with the positive pole when chaging batteries from 18350, 18500 and 18490. Only down side is that I can't used 18650 batteries with that positive pole, which I don't mind because I like smaller mods.

is that just a polished gus tele switch? if that is all I need to do to get that bit of voltage back, I can do that!

You can get the regular gus 22 switch and one of these pole insulator sets and it will give you better results and increase performance on your mod..that's how I found out about it..
I actually started with a brass screw and a guss 22 switch, which has the brass negative pole. After witnessing the power increase, I figured that I wanted the mod with a real positive post and a brass neg post on the gus tele switch and it all fell into place.

I've been trying to do that, even trying to order the gp paps switch, haven't had any luck any where. if I could find that switch, this mod would be perfect, I had just thought there might be another workaround.

Thanks.........

FYI, you need the entire switch assembly, you can't just get the replacement button for the GP Paps, it will not fit any of the Gus mods. The post on the button is too thick to fit the center post hole on the Gus switch.

edit: just to be clear, I know this from first hand knowledge. I got the brass button replacement from vapourart and it doesn't fit it. you do actually need the entire button.

I just recently switched the spring and 510 connector out with a 10-32 brass screw. Makes a huge difference with the 18350. This is only temporary until i order a GP Paps center post.

Is it worth it to swap the switch w/ a GP Paps switch? I'm finding it hard to justify spending 42 EU + shipping to CA. Does it make that much of a difference?

I'm using the Gus G22 Telescopic.

I'm looking at Material IACS % Conductivity chart and its showing that Brass has a 28% conductivity compared to copper. Aluminum (61%) and silver (105%) conductive when compared to copper. Do they sell this type of aluminum or silver at a hardware store?

Why go brass when you can use aluminum or silver? Are there any dangers to using these types of metals?

Guys
Been following this thread with great interest. Thanks for all the tips. Thanks to all of you, i ordered the Paps center post and skipped the whole brass screw fix. I didnt know the Tele had problems out of the box or I wouldn't have ordered it. ATM i'm working on the switch.

One question. I may have the chance to gold or silver plate the button. How do i remove the Delrin insulator on the switch? The thing is stuck down tight. After that i need to figure out how to disassemble the switch. That C clip looks like a ....*.

Hope someone can chime in here. Thanks!

Aluminium is a bit on the soft or fast wear side, and silver isn't seen as being economically viable.
Brass is cheap, easy to machine and once the mass is above a certain point highly conductive.
Silver plating has bbeen tried on the MMV Poldiac ( I have one ) and IMHO wears off too quickly to be anything but a PITA.
Sterling silver is the way to go, but as I said most manufactures would be too concerned about competing with other companies on product price to risk the asking price.
"gravewolf" does sterling silver upgrades for a fee, but it's going to be a wait and a price, this is his thread:http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/381050-wip-18650-sterling-silver-mod.html

Take one of those tiny flat head screwdrivers and pry it up from the inside of the switch working upwads going around the switch trying not to mess up the derlin insulator...

You are correct it doesn't fit, the shoulder needs to be modded....need to remove about 2mm of the shoulder to fit the guss tele switch and I don't know for sure if that would work...I rather you use a guss 22 switch which works just as well..the top cap post is fine and works on either of the gus mods with a lil modification or you can buy the telescopic topcap post from vaporart..I like the one I use better for the gus tele because it self-adjust as you turn to adjust the mod its self...its also thicker like the chi you post and holds the battery tightly in place with out having to go under the cap when chaging batteries and that's a plus...lol
