Yes, it's another clone thread.

I got a Munstro mod clone yesterday and I cannot for the life of me get any of my atomizers (Tobh, Tugboat, Plume Veil) to sit flush with the 510 cap when the mod is all screwed together and the switch as tight as it will go. I adjusted all my 510 atty pins in as far as I could get them and none of them will sit flush with the top cap. Did I get a crap clone again or is the Munstro only made for attys with tiny 510 threading?

When I fully tighten the atty onto the top cap off the mod I have no problem and can adjust the 510 pin on the top cap just fine, then when I screw the top cap onto the mod with the battery in theres like an 1/8" gap, at first I thought it was just because the Plume Veil has that ridiculous 510 screw/pin but even on my Tobh (which has the shortest 510 connector) with the pin screwed all the way in it's still sticking up. I obviously don't feel safe using the mod this way and it looks terrible.

The top cap on the Munstro clone I've got has a 510 pin which screws up and down and theres also another copper pin that screws into that piece. Thinking that was the problem I took that part out just to see what would happen and the battery is so loose that it won't fire. I did notice that when the 510 pin is snugged to the atty pin the smaller screw is sitting up, and it looks like the threads are too long on the connector. Should I try to cut the threads off the smaller 510 pin so it sits flush and maybe that will help? I just don't want to screw (pun intended) with anything and make it WORSE.

I'll update the thread a little bit later with some pics of the smaller 510 pin sticking out. I just don't know if theres a reason they have the leading edge of the screw butted up against the inside of the 510 connector pin assy, I would think the copper to copper connection would complete the circuit anyway and that this is just a piece of shoddy Chinese cloning.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks!

Maybe the fact that they can't even spell certificate should have been a clue of what to expect? This mod is absolutely gorgeous but this issue drives me mental. I want it to work so badly. But is there anything you guys can see aside from cutting some threads off the small screw so it sits flush with the copper slug?

What kind of battery are you using, flat top or button top. If it is a button top that could be a issue cause I have a Morpheus mod that has the same issue if I use a button top. It will only sit flush with a flat top. Can you post some more pics so we can see a atty on it the more detailed the better.

Without seeing more detail I would say shorten the battery rattle bin. But just to be safe lets see some more pics.

There is not much to shorten I just looked at the pics again. So I hope its a battery issue you can resolve.

I'm using Sony VTC4s flat tops. I've tried everything to get this to work. There's no adjustment left and there's still a big gap. They say it's a 1:1 but I think the cloners made their tubes just a mm or two short. I'll take some more shots later today.

I had this problem with my Stillares on my King clone. My adjustment pin screwed all the way in though, but if I took it out it was too loose. So I filed the 510 pin down some. Works great now. If your adjustment screw wont screw down flush into the 510 pin you should be able to cut it down a little.

Just make sure you go VERY little at a time. What looked like a huge 1/8 gap only needed a tiny amount of the pin filed down.....you can always take off more.

edit.. if you do have to take some off the 510 make sure there's still enough sticking through the insulator to make good contact to the rda. If you can find a bolt to thread the pin into and leave the tip you're going to trim off sticking out, that would give you a flat surface. You don't want it cut or filed at an angle. If it's the little adjustment screw I think that would be a piece of cake.

I ended up sending it back. It's not that I don't want to mod it I just don't think buying a mod and having to do modifications just to use regular off the shelf RDAs is not what I paid for.

Thanks for the help though. I'm just gonna stick with my Stingray and Oros clones for now.

they took it back ? I thought they all say "no refunds or returns" ? Or do they mean if you mess it up ?

I had mine for a while and love that thing ! How do you like the Stingray ? I just got the black copper from HCigar, I'm getting ready to do something with the fire button...that thing is crunchy.

I explained the issue with it and the fact that even my local vape shop couldn't get it to work and they let me return. But this was from eBay. Not sure if I'd have the same luck with say FastTech or the likes.

My friend got me the Stingray for my birthday and I believe it's an A-Mod, so not sure how it compares to an Hcigar, but this mod is great. Everything aside from the sometimes finicky, crunchy switch. I took it apart a few weeks ago to clean it and it was pretty good for a while.

The guy from the local shop showed me his and how he filed the hard edges off the post in the switch. Man, that thing felt good. I was looking at some of the different brands a few days before I ordered mine and went back to the one I thought was the Infinate and ordered without looking...wrong HCigar. It's not bad at all but I wanted one that was a solid tube.

Mines not a solid single tube body either but this thing sure hits hard. My friend was extremely jealous of how nice this Stingray was that he ended up ordering 4 mods just to try to get one that was comparable. He tried a stainless Nemesis, a really horrible black copper Stingray, a Panzer, and finally an Infinite XXIX. The latter finally made him happy.

I'd order one too but I'm not crazy about hybrids, especially when I see how much juice gets on his battery. Sure hits good though with comparable builds. Just wish it had a lock ring since his fired the other night while in his pocket. Thats enough to keep me away.

I'll have to try to soften the edges on this switch though. Last thing I want to do is render this one inoperable or dangerous since it's the only one thats been good to me so far. Lol.

Edit: I somehow forgot to mention my favorite thing about this clone. The floating positive pin! Makes my life so much easier when swapping attys.

It was just a file my pop had at his house. The Infinite has a copper pin so it's soft and didn't have to take much off.

I like the floating pin and LOVE the way you adjust battery rattle !! My Penny clone (that I LOVE) is a huge PITA to get right after ever battery change.
