Since an atty coil is a simple resistive load (only inductive at frequency) polarity shouldn't matter as long as the output can be lifted from any grounded components and matched to battery polarity. Wattage, however would be a biggy. A 2.5ohm atty at 3.7 volts generates about 5.5 watts at about 1.5 amps. The 12w modules in the link should have sufficient headroom.

What kind of mod are these going into? Just curious.

that diagram has me all kinds of confused. why is the (+) and (-) connected after the switch?
edit:never mind.
is there just a board i can use to boost my 14500?

If you have 2, you can put them in series & use a regulator.

Mine went into this-

I use 510 cartomizers with it, mostly.

Looks good Sci, I was thinking about using it upside down too! Gotta be easier!

Thanks.
It is. I've got a piece of foam with a little copper foil top on it secured to the top for the positive connection. I built up a small spot on the lid with solder & covered it with copper foil tape for the negative. I haven't put this thing down since I made it. Kudos to Connman for the find on this one.
That tin is just a little thicker than the duracell box. If the duracell box was a little thicker, I'd have an 18650 or 18500 in it with a booster.:) I'm liking the 5v vape with one battery.

Ya, I know what you mean, I'm turning to my 5v box most of the time now! Even the LR's aren't as good lately. Been busy with my pill FOB atty and learning alot! I finally got it working but don't care for the carto thing. I'm going to make one more like an atty next. Dan sure had a great idea using these fobs, they hold a ton of juice and attach to any mod. Gotta love all the new ideas on here, keeps ya busy!

Where's the pics? I've got 4 different size fobs, just haven't made it to them yet... Have you seen Dan's latest? He cut up a car lighter & is vaping off the coil that was in it @ 12v!

I like cartos. 2 or 3 will get me through a work day. I know, one fill of a juicebox will do the same, but I haven't made one yet.

What ever happened with the boosters? Have you got the other ones yet? BTW, they will fit in fobs that are the same diameter as the one Dan is using.:)

You could use a 150K or 300K (the 300k Uniit will get you closer to 5 volts if that is desired). A chart for resistor values can be found in the specs. Just know that most "pots" have a short 200 turn life. So lots of "tweeking" could wear it out sooner than latter

Other helpful hints:

Place it so it is easily replaceable.
Buy two
Go high quality
Sealed units are recommended (example 3296X by Bourns)

Here's one with a 50,000 turn life (no load) that I have yet to try but looks promising

How do i set p using a "pot" any pictures will help a lot? Just got 9 of them for free at TI.
