OK most likely the button was STUCK ON in the case. Let it cool down ( check to see if you see a blue led on ! ) in not remove the batts and let it cool fully.

after that test it with NO atty/carto attached , it should act normally ( red led no switch/ blue led with switch pressed ) if it works normally try it with a carto / atty .

Like I said most likely it had the button depressed while it was in the case.

Let me know please .

Ahh yes, it did scare the living day lights out of me...especially the smell. First for everything I guess.

I gave the batteries some time to cool down and all seems to be okay again.

Thanks for the fast response..I didn't know what to do!!

Good to hear !! , next time turn it OFF when storing it ok ? that way it CANNOT turn on in the case.

We got your back Kimmy !!

Great reminder that I need to use my shut off more often. I usually turn it off at bedtime, and it stays on the rest of the time. Of course I hardly ever store it further than my pocket, and rarely for more than a few minutes. :p I will try to get in the habit of using the on/off feature more often.
