i don't think it's a good idea. even using zero nic liquid you can get a psychological addiction. the hand to mouth thing can be one of the hardest parts of quitting smoking. we still don't know what the long term effects of ecig use is since they're fairly new as well. you currently aren't "smoking" anything so there's no reason to start.

it's just a bad idea all around IMO.

I'm wondering what makes you think e cig help reduces stress? I personally wouldn't recommend to anyone who wants to try it for fun or think it looks cool.

Well im curious, does doing an e-cig without nicotine and just vapors cause any harm? Its not to look cool or something but isn't it almost the same thing as taking deep breaths? I just wanted to sorta see the difference. Thats why i came to this board to get answers to my questions better since i never dealt with it.

Smoking and e-cigarettes are relaxing to nicotine addicts because, well, we're getting a fix. This is not a position you want to put yourself into, of course, and zero-nicotine vaping simply won't do much for your relaxation compared to better options (meditation, yoga, other exercise, whatever).

And, by the way, it's not known that the chemicals inhaled in vaping aside from nicotine are completely safe for you.

So I'd just stay away from it if I were you. Spend the (potentially considerable) money you'd put into vaping gear into something you already know you'll enjoy.

So overall doing e-cigs cause harm either way your talking??

ecig liquid is generally made of proplyne glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG), flavorings and nicotine. everything is FDA approved that goes into them, but stuff like the flavorings have not been tested for inhalation. they're fine when you're eating them but it's one of the "unknowns" in a way.

it is known that PG doesn't really cause any harm when inhaled.

Haven't seen anything done on long-term studies -- people here are interested in such things, of course, but I don't believe I've seen any ($).

As others have said, I'm personally comfortable that this is a less-bad alternative for me than my old pack a day habit. I don't seem to have issues with either VG or PG (the bases for eliquid), and I mainly use DIY juice so I pretty much know what I'm getting. On the other hand, do I personally know beyond a reasonable doubt that this is harm free? Heck no, just reduced risk through no longer actually consuming burning material, none of that lovely tar.
