OK....I'm seriously thinking about the Joye EGO....my big battery mod died and i miss the 8 hours of vaping between charges.

I also prefer low resistance 510 cartomizers but find no info if these will work well with the EGO, they just offer atomizers and carts.

would like your opinions please, even suggest other mods you prefer.
i'm dying with these little 510 batteries!!:(
thanks for the help.

i have heard from many that the button on the ego will fail with a lr atty. others have said they experienced no problems using a 2.0 ohm or higher lr atty. for the last week i have been using a lr atty ( don't know ohms) with my 900/mah ego knock-off battery with no issues so far. i cant go back to a standard atty now that i have tried the warmth and hit of the lr. i ordered a bombshell for $59 so it only has to last a week. if i were to buy another ego i would get the cheaper Riva as i have heard they are just as good.

I have an ego and use lr attys and lr cartos with it because the difference between standard and lr is like nite and day. Some say lr will prematurely kill your ego batt., but I can get a new batt. for $15 bucks or so and the battery is a disposable item anyway. Lr cartos can be found all over ( I have some Boge silver threaded that I like) and even though I haven't had the chance to try them yet, Ikenvape is rumored to produce some outstanding cartos and attys. LOL...you have a mod (albeit a dead one...very sorry for your loss) and are looking for an ego and I have an ego and and I am biting at the bit to get a mod. Hope that helped at least a little bit.

The eGo will not disappoint but I'd stay away from the LR attys... JMHO... :)

Hey turk, welcome to ECF. I went from 510's to a Mega eGo with 900 mah batt's, then to a big batt mod. After using the mod for some time I tried going back to the eGo and was sorely disappointed. Vapor production and TH were weak in comparison. I use 2.0 ohm LR's. My eGo's are relegated to backup use now. My suggestion would be to buy another mod. I prefer the 18650 batt's @ 3000 mah for 2 days of vaping on a charge if necessary. If you want a basic big batt mod try the Madvapes Maxi Roughstack. For $50 it's about the same price as a Mega eGo, but you can use it at HV if you want on top of using those huge 3.7v batt's.
On a side note, what part of NM do you hail from? I moved from Cruces about a year ago and my wife is from Taos.

The thread below has some good info in it. Personally, I'm tickled with my Ego. I use standard attys (2.4 ohm) and E2 cartos (2.8 ohm). The amount of vapor looks similar to what you would get from a ciggy, and that's what I prefer. You might check into a higher volt mod and higher ohm attys and cartos. That will probably be my next experiment. lol. For example, you could check into the roughstack at 6v mentioned above with a E2 at 2.8 ohm or something similar. The higher resistance attys and cartos should have more surface area on the coil to heat the vapor while keeping the amps down at the same time. Just my $.02. lol. Vape on! :vapor:

ive had my ego for a little over a week now and its been great. i can vape for 2 days on one battery (not a real heavy vaper). but i must say their sturdy pieces of equipment. im a mason and i must have gotten a few pounds of dust and dirt all over this thing on a daily basis and its been flawless. i also drop it on concrete at least twice a day cause i forget to take it off my lap before i get out of my truck and still no issues whatsoever. the best thing i bought for it so far was the ego mega cartomizers. they last so absurdly long due to the 2ml of capacity its awsome. their also quite consistent. a little less throat hit and vapor production then a atty/cart combo. but for the added convenience of not having to drip a few drops into my 510 carts constantly wherever i am its completely worth it IMO, specially cause i drive a lot.

i appreciate all the info, my dead mod used the 18650 battery which would last all day, and so do the EGO'S according to seller info.

but i do vape pretty heavy and appreciate the L.R. cartomizers and atty's.

the cost of some mods eludes me, but keep the info coming, thanks

to answer a question, i'm living in Albuquerque, west side....it's nice and quiet, far from Cruces or Taos but i do love this State....and was born in Columbus,Ohio......your in Ohio....weird how things happen....

One 900mah Mega eGo batt lasts me from 7 am to around 10 pm on a single charge. I vape around 3ml a day. The 18650 will go 2 days if I want, but I usually charge each day anyway. The eGo's run around 3.2v and don't seem to produce the vapor and TH as well as the 3.7v mod. The eGo's are good units and I haven't had a problem with them other than that. The point I was trying to make is that if you're used to your mod you may be disappointed with an eGo. Of course that's just my opinion.

You won't have the same experience with the Ego that you had with your 18650 Mod. Battery life will not be as long(you didn't say if you were using the 2400 or 3000 mah 18650?) and there is a difference beween the 3.2v of the Ego and 3.7v of the mod you were used to. As long you're ok with the fact that the Ego is not up to handling the lr atty/carto like your 3.7v mod was and you "may" prematurely loose your ego batts you can use the lr atty/carts but your 18650 mod was perfect for using the lr atty/cartos. I like my Ego but its not the same as my 3.7v mod.

I am sa noobie/ But I bought the RIVA, and so far the battery life has been AMAZING !! Try one if you get the chance, they can use all teh 510 parts and attys and tips, But the battery last forever, bigger than the EgO . HTH Sorry If I have told you anything you already knew... like I stated. im, a noobie : )

It's good that you're enjoying the Riva, but the hit you get on one is nothing compared to a 18650 battery, for noobs or people who are used to the 510 it's fine, but once you've used a real mod it's hard to go back to a device that hits in the low 3v's under load.

In August, I wanted to try the LR attys everybody was raving about. I know some people don't have problems with LR on their eGo batts, but I managed to fry a couple before I figured out it was the atty. After that, I was skittish about using LR on the eGo anymore so I went back to regular attys while I saved up for a mod. It wasn't very satisfying.

Now I'm vaping at 3.7 (14500 batts) with LR and loving it. A few days ago, I took a drag off my eGo, trying out a juice sample, and there was no joy. I agree with Firefly... it's hard to go backwards. Just thought I would throw my experience in there, in case it might help you make up your mind.

I used LR 510s on my eGo-types for several months before I heard the buzz about possibly causing premature failure. I had a half dozen batteries which I had been randomly rotating. None of them died flat out. BUT, I did seem to notice a pretty rapid diminishing of their charge time.

I completely stopped using LR on ego-type. But, I missed the LR atomizers ... so, I bought an 18650 mod! :) Now, I'm back to my LRs.
And, I just recently purchased 16 XL (900 mAh) batteries. That's ok, I still find them useful and I guess I've got a lifetime supply. :)

One thing to consider. None of these batteries last forever, regardless of what atty you use.
If you want to use LR atomizers on your eGo-type batteries, and you're willing to accept that doing so MAY cause premature failure ... go for it!
It isn't instant death, but it may just shorten it.
Or, buy a big battery mod if you can.

That's exactly the point I was trying to make earlier in this thread. Once you've used a big batt mod for a while an eGo/Riva just ain't gonna deliver the same hit. They are good units though and are probably perfect for many individuals.
