The mother of one of my wife's co-workers has recently moved to a non-smoking senior community. Since she is no longer able to smoke, she's been vaping. Yay =) Unfortunately, she went and spent far too much money on 2 starter kits locally before I knew that she was vaping ($55 for ONE batt/5 cartos/1 charger...standard 808/901). She had been purchasing refill cartos for those kits at ridiculous prices ($20 for 5, standard 808/901 cartos, she was buying about 4 refill packs a week), but now that I know about it I've been cleaning and refilling her cartos for her. So that's not really an issue.
The problem is the battery life on the starter kits she has. They aren't lasting her more than a couple of hours. Sometimes, not even that long. We've been talking and I'm going to be going to visit her and help her purchase a better kit. But, I want to be sure I'm not going to throw her money away. I have an Echo, which I love, but I'm looking for something in the 510 family for her.
What I'm needing from a kit is:
1) Long lasting battery life. She's a fairly constant vaper and gets tempted into analogs far too quickly when her batts keep dying on her.
2) Easy to change carto/cartridge/tank. Due to a stroke she only has use of one hand. She's using one hand to hold the batt, while holding the carto in her teeth to twist it on. So I want to make sure it's also safe for her to replace her cartos, etc. I will continue to refill them for her, but don't want to run the risk of her winding up with a mouth full of eliquid. I'll also need them to be non-leak prone as I'll be refilling all her supplies once a week for her.
3) Affordable. Additional batteries and blank cartos/cartridge+atty/tanks etc need to be affordable, cleanable and refillable. Which is why I took the Echo out of contention. $3-$4 per carto is just too much.
4) Durable. I don't want her to drop it once and have it break on her. So, I'm thinking no glass tanks, etc.
I've never used a 510 before. Besides the Echo kit I have now and a cheapie starter grocery store kit, I've never had any other ecig (besides a disposable which i don't really count), so I'm not sure what exactly to recommend. I was thinking ago the Ego-T, but am worried about whether or not it will be easy for her to change out the tank without ending up with dry hits, etc.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated =)
