Need some advice on getting started

So I know some of the basics of vaping but not to much in great detail. I want to only spend about 80$ initially, and was wondering what should I get to get started. I am not picky but what I do want is to have a vape I can use for a while and if I wanted to upgrade I could do so (but thats not important). I don't want one that becomes disposable when the battery dies out as well. I can be a PAD smoker but I can also limit myself to a pack 5days because of finances.

I set my buddy up with this and ended up getting the same thing for myself even though I have much more advanced gear. You can mix and match. Got a 1300mah spinner and 600mah ego twist. He did that so he could decide if he liked the smaller battery or the larger one. If you dont vape crazy all day the 600 will last but if not the 1300 should. We both paired ours with the Kanger Evods. Im loving the setup. This really is a pretty good deal and a great start into vaping even when comparing to my high end gear.

I should last way more than a couple months but yes, once the battery stops holding a charge you toss it. I would estimate more like 8 months to a year similar to most rechargeable batteries. Its so cheap though I would think you would have your monies worth by then. I took what you said to mean you didnt want a pure disposable like the Njoy King. I get ya now. There are just so many choices out there I wouldnt know where to begin to make suggestions. Like cigbuyer said, we would need way more info to go on. The market is just so flooded with devices.

EGO batteries ARE technically disposable - but the good ones last over 200 re-charges, I've seen 300 charges (and charging from "halfway" counts as a half a charge...). And a charged Ego 900 can last you most of the day.

The kit dirquist linked to IS AN EXCELLENT starting point. Good batteries, and 2 of them, choice of all the top clearomizers, etc.

All you need in juice. For that, many people suggest starting with Mt Baker Vapor - a great variety, and low prices.

If you budget is 80 bucks Id go with an ego twist battery and a carto tank or clearomizer (the protank is my personal favorite) this setup would get you the most bang for your buck in my opinion. Then start saving for a mod as pretty much anyone can attest to at some point the ego just wont cut it anymore, but its a great place to start.

So just to clear things up, Say theres 2 parts to the pv, the atomizer/clear/carto and the battery, the battery is always going to die and you have to replace it. But you also have to replace the atomizer/clear/carto. So your never going to actually stick with the same set up unless you get a mod then you would have the mod but all other parts need to be replaced eventually?

atomizer and cartos are disposable and need to be replaced when they die, tanks and clearomizers take different kinds of atomizers cartos or atomizer heads that need to be replaced but unless you break it some how the actual tanks should last a really long time if you take care of them. If you buy a tank or clearo that has rebuildable attys like the protank or vivinova for example you can take them apart clean and rebuild them for a fraction of the cost of replacing attys or cartos. Do a search here or youtube for rebuilding atomizers it can seem daunting at first but after a few trial and error runs its pretty simple and I love the fact I can switch out atty heads every few days and not waste money by throwing them away so by rebuilding I always have a fresh good tasting atty to use.

ok, so if i were to get a vivinova tank/ that has the built in rebuildable atty , I would just need a battery, so say i got an ego twist , then all I would need is juice to fill the tank then every now and then replace the atty/wick till the battery dies then I would have to replace that right? Thanks again for the help and clearing things up.

Yup pretty much all you need to rebuild them like they come stock is A1 kanthal wire (I would suggest 32gauge as its easy to work with) and some silica wick 2.5 or 3 mm which can be sourced locally ebay or pretty much any online retailer that sells rebuildable tanks / attys. Once you get comfortable doing it you can experiment with different size kanthal and wick material to see what your preference is, And no worries brotha that's what the forums are for :)

If you buy a twist battery or similar ala cart then dont forget you will need a charger. Im sure you know that but just tossing it in to be an all inclusive statement of "everything" you need.

And just on the opinion front I prefer the Kanger Mini, Protank 2 and Evod over my Vivi Nova, but thats just a personal opinion of course.

The beauty of the clearo's, including the Nova is that you can buy a pack of the heads which are super quick to change and low cost. If you want to rebuild them you can but if you dont feel like it you can just plug and play with a new one. If you get a mod with a true rebuildable atomizer then you have to build it every time no matter what.

I have LOTS of high end mods and rebuildables and I still love having my base gear around ie a twist and evod. So even if you go for the gusto from the start with a mech mod and a rebuildable I would still recommend a twist/spinner or one of the other many similar options.

And I also dispute the statement that you will eventually need more than a twist and clearo. I think I could be perfectly happy with that combo for the rest of my vaping days. Its just my love for gadgets that got me to move on to other gear. Not out of necessity to keep me off the cigs. That is again just my opinion, however.
