I am still on the fence about Vamo V2, V3 or iTaste SVD. I am trying to put a kit together with charger and batteries for the itaste so I can compare price. I found the Nitecore charger with US plug on FT, I then searched for 18650 Batts and I am over whelmed at the choices. I have no idea which to choose. Can someone help me out please?

You want an IMR or IMR hybrid battery for their high drain capacity in a regulated mod, not a protected ICR-type battery. (Regulated mods have their own built-in protection circuits.) After that, choose whether you need high amp capability (RBA?) or high mAh capacity (any other juice delivery device).

Only a select few IMR batteries have enough amp capacity to power sub ohm coils. One of the top batteries in this category is the 1400 mAh MNKE IMR with 30 amps. The AW 1600 mAh IMR has a 20 amp capacity.

For just a good all-around IMR, the 2000 mAh AW IMR which has a 10 amp capacity is an extremely popular choice.

What are you planning on doing with the mod? Are you getting into sub-ohm madness or just looking to use a tank or vivi etc? If you are not looking to get into sub-ohm then the Sanyo 2600 protected are a great battery at a very good price. I know it's a cheap charger but these are good batteries with excellent protection and I have used one for years and so have thousands and thousands of other people. Don't buy trustfire ultrafire or @!#!fire anything and you will be fine. Oh and yet there is protection on the mods but keep in mind that 99% of the problems come from charging JUNK batteries with the name FIRE after them. Sanyo, Panasonic and Samsung all make excellent high quality cells. Also I suggest the 2600 sayos because they fit well and take a full charge. The 2800's are not a better buy despite being a tad cheaper and having the extra 200mAh because you won't use it anyway.

$11.03 Sanyo UR18650F 18650 2600mAh Protected Rechargeable Lithium Batteries (2-pack) 2-pack - protected at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

$3.86 Portable Digital Battery Charger for 18650 Rechargeable Batteries - US plug / charges two 18650 at once at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I have no idea what advice to give on the sub-ohm stuff. 1.8ohms is my sweet spot and anything under that is overkill for me.

Also keep in mind that IMR are a safer chemistry battery but that the advice that you don't need protected batteries of any kind is bogus because most accidents happen from using junk batteries while charging not while in the mod itself. Not necessarily the charger so much as the @#$@fire batteries. You will never know what is under the wrapper of the trustfire/ultrafire etc batteries because they just put whatever cell they want inside of a shrinkwrap and claim it's whatever they want.

Thanks again! I am looking for an itaste svd that will run iclear 30's and 16's. would these be right? nothing LR or sub ohm....

$10.50 Sony US18650V3 18650 3.7V 2150mAh Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery (2-Pack) 2-pack - 10A discharge / with carrying case at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
As I said earlier in my first post, unless you are using a sub ohm coil RBA device, you don't need one of the higher amp capacity batteries. The above batteries you linked to are said to be IMR, although there is absolutely no mention by FastTech whether they are protected or IMR in their product description, and no labeling whatsoever on the battery casing. Personally, I wouldn't buy those batteries as I'm not familiar with what the Sony batteries are supposed to look like.

I personally would go with a proven and known battery like the red AW IMR 18650 2000 mAh batteries you can get from RTD vapor for the same price.
