Started on Cig-a-like tpyes(Yuck) for a week or so while looking for something that was worth a crap. Moved to Ego/Clearo and it was Off to the Races.

Within a few months Kanger upped the game with Bottom Coil Clearomizers that just worked, were serviceable and replicated the Smoking experience well.

Today - This would be a perfect transition device.

Bigger = Better, Once you know what you are looking for. Not when you are learning

Your Dad is an ole smokin' man like me. He can kick it like I did. There's two things to remember here - cigarettes are easy - he needs an easy alternative; and as he wasn't a pipe smoker he will have to get his mind round the fact that vaping won't deliver an instant hit. A chair, a relaxed mind and patience to wait for 10 minutes for truly great satisfaction are what he now needs. Check round the Beginners Forum for tips and techniques and you'll do him a great favour.

For easy working kit - look at an iStick 30W and and Nautilus Mini ( get him some spare tank shells in case he drops the thing on his workshop floor - Pyrex and concrete don't go too well together) and a good 16 to 18 strength juice and with a bit of support he should make it.

I started one of my brothers vaping last Christmas day with an N mini and iStick 20. He finally quit cigs completely in October so that took a while. He shows no interest in new gear, vapes about 3 ml a day at 5.7 watts and replaces the N mini coil head once a month. I think it's a disservice to newbies to create the impression that vaping is supposed to be higher and higher consumption of everything involved. I envy my brother's lean, efficient vape.

Reading these replies makes me feel a whole lot better! Thank you all so much for the continuous input. I honestly don't know if he wants to quit though... Even if he just continues his habit as vaping, it's a huge improvement. I started him on 12mg/ml and told him he can go as high or as low as he wants. I'm reading all these stories and remembering them so when I do talk to him later tonight, I can assure him that it is not just him.
