Hello ECFers,
I'm new to vaping and need a little help with getting a good setup and how it all works. I have currently a Persei which has a 3.7v battery or to small 3.7v to make it a 7.4v but the thread size is 601 the company does make cartos but I just don't know if it'll work with a jonboyusmc tank but I do have an adapter 601-510 but the boge cartos don't screw down all the way. I've been looking at two new units, Legacy by PureSmoker.com and Provari by ProVape.com both seem pretty good to me but I see the Provari has a voltage regulator on it as where the Legacy just has what's called a "KICK".
Which one is the better of the two?
With a tank on the device in my pocket will it leak all over is this something I'd have to keep upright all the time?
Thanks in advance for anyone's help :)

I've owned both these PV's for some time but the reason I was looking at getting a new PV was the threading on the Omicron is 601 and it seems all the PV out there have 510 threading so that's the reason for shopping.
Juicy Vapor on the way today, anyone ever try the black and blue waffle? I got that and Ecto Plasma, Watermelon, Watermelon Punch and Butterscotch :) any of these flavors good?

I've got an Ectoplasm flavor, watermelon and butterscotch from Mt. Baker Vapor and they're very good IMO. I've got the watermelon going on my Lava Tube and am dripping some butterscotch on a box mod right now.

blue waffle

I hope no one screws up and just googles blue waffle. As long as you don't do an image search (which is pretty tame for the first page) you'll understand my lols.

I sense a PM from a mod coming for this post.

Well hello, sorry you seem to have been missed. Usually people come right along to help out.

I am not familiar with your set up but can tell you that 510 threading has the most options so everything will be interchangeable. That makes it easier to find things when you need them. As for the "kick" I have never had one but have read on here that they do tend to give out (hearsay, but all I had to go on). The ProVari on the other hand will last and not need a thing except a battery change and if it does, has a 1 year warranty with great customer service. So when I made my choice, I opted for the longer lasting item that wouldn't need to be replaced any time soon. More money upfront, but cheaper over the long haul and works great.

The Jonboy's are pretty aren't they! I don't have one of those either, but their reputation precedes them and is good as far as not leaking and they are built very well. Usually if something isn't right with items, you will hear about it on here, and I have heard nothing but good things about them.

I have never tasted any of the juices from Juicy Vapor either so can't comment on it except to say that everyone's taste is different.

Just remember that the best juice, and the best PV's are the ones that keep you from smoking cigarettes, and what is good for me may not be the right choice for you.

Just to chime in, ProVari is an excellent choice. Incredibly flexible, very reliable, and is ready for pretty much anything you want to throw at it. Mine has lasted me from carto / tank set-ups (check out Mom & Pop Vapor shop BTW, some very high performing / inexpensive tank set-ups), all the way through genesis atomizers.
The ProVari will grow with you...
Good luck on your journey!

Thanks :) ya I've noticed this, the 510 threading is on every PV I've seen and the Boge cartos I've heard don't go down all the way on the adapter for this PV but the tank just arrived and the juices are on the way today so hopefully I can give a good video review on it.

I'm trying to kick cigs too but have only tried the Prodigy from PureSmoker with Watermelon flavor a friend at work had but it keep me smoke free all day till it broke and he never replaced it.

The Omicron has a Lifetime Warrenty :) and the "kick" is that at first the Omicron V2.0 was only 3.7v max output so a new top was created to boost the battery from 3.7v to 4.2v that's a .5v increase and they now call it the V2.5.

I just can't stand the Provari's menu system. Conditions in your atomizer change. If you set it and forget it, you aren't getting the best vape. That's why people use things like the kick or Darwin that can adjust as the atomizer changes,. It's true that on the Provari you can adjust to those changes manually but, you have to wonder through menus to do it. Make a Provari with a knob, wheel, or up down buttons and I'll be a fan. Until then forget it. The same applies to the Vmax.

I would love a Darwin, but they aren't easy to get. The provari has a website you can order from 24/7/365 and you get it in the mail a few days later. As for your having to wonder through menus, that is strange I have the V2 and I don't wonder through menus? You just push the button a few times to get to where you want to be, and after doing it a few times you just do it instinctively.

I do it without having to look on the VVs I use. What you call clicking a few times is the definition of wondering through menus.
