You know inconsiderate those Spanish surrealists can be. They never think about how the edges of their paintings will look when wrapped around a tube-shaped object....

ETA: And now I sitting here, staring at it because I had been thinking of black for the end pieces but I might really like the silver.

LOL

I think it would look good with either black or silver, personally.

So you can have a visual comparison. That's kind of rough, but I'm hitting my bedtime wine. :)

Ooh that sounds like a FINE idea.

I realized a while back that I had three choices to deal with my insomnia: 1) continue staring at the ceiling, 2) take a pill, or 3) have a glass or two of wine. Number three just seems to have the fewest side effects. My doctor did tell me I should limit myself to only one glass instead of "one or two," but I got bigger glasses so it's all good now.

You are both incredible. Thanks so much.

I think I'm going to be printing them out in the morning and staring at them for the next couple of days.

~Jo~, if the wine is working for you, great. But if you find that you're waking up every night after x hours in bed, that's from the wine. I was taking Benadryl before bed because of my allergies. I stopped (except for emergencies) because I was having a hard time falling asleep without it and it wore off after 4 hours and I'd wake up shortly after that. Apparently people who use wine or warm milk to relax themselves into sleep frequently have the same problem.

Poeia, I've literally slept through two earthquakes. :D They were mild, but it amuses my husband because he's always said I could, and he likes to be proven right.

I think my insomnia has more to do with the fact that I'm a serious night owl and an introvert, and I have four sons whom I homeschool. So at night, when the house gets quiet, I suddenly find myself wide awake and enjoying the solitude. I adore my boys, but good grief, they're loud. :) I do appreciate the tip. I've never heard that before, and now I'll be aware of it if that starts happening to me.

Good luck choosing colors!

I knew I shouldn't have gone and gotten a snack! Now I'm SLOW!

Beat ya! ;)

Forgive me if you already know this, but if you don't, it will save you the trouble of doing multiple mockups just to get different end cap colors. Make a new layer and choose "Overlay" for it. Select just the end caps and paint over them on the new overlay layer. This changes the color without changing the highlights and slight color variations in the original graphic.

I was sad that I couldn't use your template. I have a really old version of Photoshop, and it doesn't have the wrap function, nor would it open your file. I haven't been able to make the spherize filter work yet. It may be time for an upgrade. But *shrug* my current version really takes care of everything I need to do, so I've never been able to justify the cost.

I think my wine has done it's job, so I'm off to bed. G'night, all.

Do you have a camera? Do you have a finger? USE THEM! :D

I'll need to grow a wart.

Oh by the way:

Finally got this for my wife today, spent the poker machine money on it:

And got Cockychuck for myself, ordered it with the white endcaps that I'm to lazy to color... I think you did the mockup of hers for me, thanks :)

These are the last ones. I mean it. Actually, they probably will be, her student loans are maturing. No more degrees for her, too damned expensive... freaking professional students....seriously cuts into my Chuck fund.

Congrats! I think she'll LOVE it!

And got Cockychuck for myself, ordered it with the white endcaps that I'm to lazy to color... Too much time spent on forums...not enough spent with PS!

I think you did the mockup of hers for me, thanks :) My pleasure!

LOL, yep! My wife is one of those overeducated types! Luckily her loans were paid off years ago (St. Thomas loans paid off about the same time she decided to go to Rice and then a couple years later a short program at Stanford which we paid cash for). And she hasn't worked in 7+ years!!!! Well, she'd count helping my business but really I just give her busy work to keep her out of my hair!

I hear once you have 5+ Chucks you're set for almost 6 months!

Yeah, I totally went overboard. But it's all good...the checklist is pretty much complete:

1) Hot babe Chucks... Check
2) Pop-culture household item/quirky humor Chuck...Check
3) Pop-culture TV character tribute Chuck... Check
4) Family-type event tribute Chuck... Check
5) Spousal "Get your own and keep your grubby mitts off of my Chucks"Chuck... Check...

That's pretty much it... just gotta work on those holiday Chucks and our yearly "Reggae in the Desert" concert Chucks...

I guess I could spend my money on other things, like... new clothes... but really, I only wear scrubs, the rest of the week I have my pajama pants, shorts, and beer shirts.. so I'm set.

You'd think I was rich.. but turns out I'm just boring.

EDIT: It's a sad sad thing when two masters degrees pays less than one associates degree. Too bad too... I could be a stay at home dad and take care of the Chucks.

Love the cockatoo, of course. The one for your wife is beautiful.

I never quit out of Preview last night so the first thing I'd see when I turned on my monitor this morning were my beautiful mock-ups. This is going to be a hard decision.

I'm still going to try to hold out until next week for ordering. It would be lovely if past spending would pay for more than half of my Chuck. (I've totally given up on the idea of waiting 2 more months so it would pay for the whole thing.)

So you can compare:

I think it looks better with the black than silver myself. Either way though it is a great creative design choice Poeia :thumb:

 @ suicide finger

You can find tons of them if you Google image search "cartoon finger", but beware if you have safe search off some of the results can be quite graphic (not there's anything wrong with that!).

LOL ... I always have safe search off and I'm always amused at some of the things that come up when searching terms that you would think couldn't possibly come up with any of those type of results.

It's actually what sold me on the Chuck. (That and the fanatical love Chuck members have for their mods.) I thought an Escher might look nice and while I was browsing for for a good one, I came across this painting by Miro.

I also think Mondrian's Broadway Boogie Woogie would look great on a Chuck. (Or any Mondrian, for that matter.)
