Hey all. So I posted a while ago that I bought a Blu kit and liked the sleek/compact feel, but I am ready to step my game up. I try reading other recommendations but get stuck by some of the lingo. I am completely a newb and don't even know what is or how to use e-liquid. All I know is I want the best because I hate analogs and now I can't live without an e-cig. But the Blu just sucks so much.

Here is what I am looking for:

A longer lasting battery (the best battery that isn't huge)
Cartridges, cartos or whatever is the best.
18-24mg of nicotine with a GREAT THROAT HIT

I said in a post that I would try the Magic Mist and they gave great throat kick so now I know that it's possible to get a Newport esque throat kick with e-cigs. But the cartos or whatever didn't last too long and constantly ordering is getting annoying.

Please if anyone can give me detailed recommendation for getting the best battery and the best other stuff (menthol preferred), with that big throat hit I like, I would greatly appreciate it. If its not too much to ask, links would be hugely helpful also.

Thanks so much!

hmmm maybe a couple of 1300mah batteries will meet your needs.

$20.96 CE4+ 6-in-1 USB Rechargeable 1300mAh Electronic Cigarettes Health Keeping Set - black / US plug adapter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

and some juice $5.61 Authentic LIQUA E-liquid for Electronic Cigarettes (30ml) - menthol flavor / 18mg/ml nicotine at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
you can select nic level from the dropdown menu.

totals= around $25

that would be a good simple step up from blu.

Just note ego style batteries or any built-in battery device has a lifespan of around 250-300 charges/discharges, so when the battery is done you have to buy another unit. That's why most people get replaceable battery devices, they are more powerful, last longer and the battery can be replaced for way less cost than a whole unit.

This kit is the best all over the internet $53.33 Vamo-Vivi Stainless Steel Voltage Adjustable E-Cigarette Battery Compartment Set - with Nitecore I2 US battery charger/charger cable/2*Panasonic CGR18650CH 18650 batteries at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

But if you care about size, the smaller batteries do the job.

just my :2c:

Since you're looking for a "cigalike", eGo is the way to go. But I would recommend getting a real eGo battery in lieu of the Chinese copy that the previous poster gave you a link to.

Joyetech eVic Kit

Any of the kits there will do what you want (long battery life + lots of vapor), minus the Vari-Volt, Titan Tank, and Odyssey. Plus the vendor is very reputable and their customer service will help you with any issues/questions/etc. you have along the way. I just recommend staying away from the compact kits unless you're on a very tight budget.

Delivery systems are a little more tricky. They depend a lot on your own personal preferences. Carts arguably give the most flavor, but don't hold much juice (the amount of juice they hold can be remedied by combining them with a cart tank). Rebuildable tanks and clearos give the most vapor, but sometimes can affect the flavor of the juice. Carts are the cheapest to replace, followed by rebuildable tanks (which you just replace the coil and wick in), then clearos are the most expensive. Rebuildable tanks can be the cheapest as well, even cheaper than carts, if you learn how to build your own coils and re-wick them.

As for juice, probably the cheapest places to get it from are FastTech, MadVapes, and Mt. Baker Vapor. Out of the three Mt. Baker Vapor probably produces the best quality juice with the most variety in flavors, with plenty of options to customize your order. If you don't mind spending a little extra, I also highly recommend VaporBeast's juices.

Blu Cig is a nightmare, but you're a newb at a great time in the world of vaping. It's amazing how much the industry has grown since I started vaping just a couple of years ago. The options can be a bit overwhelming, but the upside is there is almost surely going to be something that will work for you.

If you have your heart set on a cigalike, you'll hear it at some point (if not by the time I click the "reply" button)- the eRoll. A lot of folks on this forum, even seasoned vapers, are recommending this device. I just placed an order for a kit so I can see what the buzz is about, and also because I remembered how much I enjoy the light feel of a cigalike in my hand after I broke down and bought a Blu cig while on a recent trip.

But. That said, if your budget allows, I strongly recommend purchasing an eGo style battery in addition to a cigalike. At least a 650mah battery, which would be mid-size. If you continue to vape, that is where you will eventually wind up anyway, in all likelihood. And, it is (in my opinion) the jumping off point for most folks. From there, you really get a sense of what works for you and what you're still looking for in a PV.

As for cartridges/cartomizers... Tanks and clearomizers are my favorite, but if you want a step up from the cartomizers you're familiar with, you might want to try a dual coil cartomizer, like Smoktech's. I happen to actually really like them, though they mute the flavor of my liquids.

If you want to buy once cry once I would recommend the Provari but many others will get you what you want for cheaper. The Provari is just so trusty, tried and true. If you don't want to spend that much I would check out the vamo. The ego twist works well but it's a throw away unit. I know you want a smaller size but loooong battery life comes from larger mods. If you can stand it I would go larger. If not the ego twist or vision spinner is your man.

If you want a true "cigalike" e-cig, check out Smokeless Image Volt. They have tons of colors for their batteries and their start up kits are pretty inexpensive. Best customer service in the industry. Take a look at their FAQ thread here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/smokeless-image/270378-faq-frequently-asked-questions.html as it explains anything you might want to know about their product as well as vaping in general. And whatever brand you decide on, good luck on your step up from Blu!

Ego-T Full Starter Kit
DV eGo-T Starter Kit - 1100mah

Kanger Evod Bottom Coil Clearomizer
Kanger eVod bottom coil clearomizer - Black
To fill just screw off the bottom, fill right from your juice bottles tip. Screw the bottom back on and enjoy.

This is a very reputable ECF approved vender.

I make my own juice so can't recommend a juice supplier.

So far I'm leaning on this one. Can I just go with the juice recommended in the first reply?

Also, does this give a good throat kick? This seems to be exactly where I would want to be budget wise also.

Also, is eGo the brand or just a type of ecig? There was another "eGo" recommended and also used in the blog entry but the one you mentioned seems a bit better. What is the difference between the two?

You may end up having to try samples from various venders to find the perfect juice for you. I never try to recommend a specific flavor of juice since what one person loves another person hates. A lot of folks do seem to enjoy Mt Baker but I've not tried them.

Since you're interested in a good throat hit, you should definitely get a variable voltage unit such as the eGo Twist or the Spinner. Having VV lets you dial up the power until you get a good throat hit, and lets you compensate for a carto or clearo coil that's getting older and a bit weak.

Variable voltage has been IMO the best single improvement for ecigs, and I wouldn't be without it.

From my understanding ego is the type of battery. It has both ego threading (the larger outside threads) and also 510 threading (the smaller inside threads). I've been at this for 1 1/2 years and in all thet time I have been happy with the performance of my no name ego batteries.

Sorry, I didn't read the blog entry so can't compare the two.

I agree that the VV Spinner is wonderful, I have 2 of them but I am loving my Evod clearomizers on my fixed voltage ego batteries.
